Wolf is the oldest mattress manufacturer under continuous family ownership in the United States. They are also famous for being the original licensee of the 'Serta' brand for their Serta fouton. They have kept up with the times though with relationships with major discount retailers like JCPenney and Sears. Additionally, they have made in roads to the online space and ship their mattresses in boxes with companies like Amazon and Overstock. They are generally comfortable, but some had issues with customer service and the warranty.
Yogabed is a relative newcomer to the factory-direct mattress category. Their Yogabed Classic mattress is made with a proprietary blend of foam that reacts faster and sleeps cooler than traditional memory foam. They also use the addition of gel-infused foam to whisk away heat through the middle layer of the mattress as well. If you are looking for a medium firmness option, take a look deeper into what Yogabed has to offer.

We all want a mattress that lasts 10 years or more, and when our mattress is instead something crummy that causes us pain after only a year, this is the worst. However, it is getting more and more difficult to find a durable mattress nowadays. With more products in the industry than ever and rife competition, companies are sacrificing quality to find profits. When it comes to these mattresses, some sleepers had issues with durability. It doesn't mean that durability issues will happen to you if you buy one of these, but make sure to read up on the warranty and return policies before buying.
What a bargain! Wish I could have found such a great mattress and fantastic price a year ago. I would have bought it immediately. I aired out the mattress for 48 hours, set it up on my bed and what a wonderful restful nights sleep I had. If you want a great nights sleep check out the mattress I just bought!
View More ReviewsWe purchased two of these in twin size and let me tell you they do not disappointment. The increased comfort while sleeping is leaving my teenage daughters in much better moods and they feel rested in the mornings instead of like they tossed and turned all night. They are made of quality materials and specs are exactly as stated. Phenomenal mattress for a budget price.
For a very reasonable price I was able to replace an old worn out mattress with a very comfortable and easy to place mattress in our guest bedroom. It isn't a mattress someone uses everyday and therefore it was a good choice as an extra bed for guests. Seems to be very comfortable although it may be a little soft for some peoples tastes. All things considering I'm happy with the purchase for the following reasons, quality, comfort and ease of delivery & placement.
This mattress was advertised as a back aid mattress. It is by far not even acceptable for a person with out a back problem. It bends in every direction and the springs feel like they are popping thru. Very disappointed, not keeping this. I hope I can return it without being charged shipping. Don't buy this mattress.
I was so excited to get my mattress and then just a little disappointed. This mattress is ALOT softer than I expected. I wanted a soft to medium and this one is really really soft. I LOVE JCP and had never had a complaint - it's not the companies fault at all and I should have researched mattresses better before buying. The mattress has no support at all and if you need one with some support, better pass on by this mattress. It's really soft with no support at all. Again, I just wanted a soft to medium but this one is totally saggy in the center.
We were surprised at how the mattress was boxed. At first we didn't know what what was in the box. After we opened the mattress up and laid it on the bed we found it to be extremely comfortable. After sleeping on it for a few nights we realized our aching backs stopped aching. We have recommended a few of our friends and family to take advantage of Penny's mattresses.
I slept comfortably on the first night so that's a plus. I would say it's more of a children's mattress. But it's going to do its job as long as my sleep is not messed with. It was fun getting out of the box. Friend couldn't figure how they got it in the box. Has a newness smell.
Was very concerned with the tall square box that this mattress arrived in, but was literally laughing when taking it out of the box and out of the tight plastic airtight bag, that the mattress sprang to life. It's very comfortable. As it hasn't been used much I can't really testify to the durability of it but for the price, it's made us quite pleased.
It was exactly what was advertised & came in quicker than expected. Nicely done!

Purchased this mattress for my grandmother who needed a new one. When I received it, it was super thin. (It's very wobbley and within a week the springs are felt through). Unfortuanatley it did not meet my expectations. I do not see this mattress aiding anyones back. Will try to return this. If I can help anyone from making the mistake I did, do not buy this mattress. It's not even meant for someone without back problems.

Great mattress, I've tried several foam mattresses before and this is the most comfortable mattress. Most other i would sinc too deep in and would make movement dificult. -It is firm, so if you like a very plush mattress this is not for you. The latex is Dunlop in this matress which is firmer than Talalay latex (softer, cloud like). Talalay will give you more of hugging cloud like feeling, however i feel this matress gives me just a bit of that cloud feel but does not sink and provides great support. Pros - Price (about half of Casper/Leesa) - Natural latex/Independent coils combo - This mattress does not impede my movement like most other foam mattresses did. - The mattress also appears to be good at isolating motion. - I noticed my sleep improved, and my fitness tracker shows slightly higher deep sleep readings. - This mattress stays cool unlike some infused foams. - Fully uncompressed quickly; was ready in about 2 hours Cons - - It has a faint chemical smell; less then other foam mattresses but still you want to air it out for about a week. - Box is heavy; you will need two people. - Returning can be difficult; as with any online mattress this has high shipping weight and is compressed into a fairly small package. You can't stuff it back into original box once unpacked.
Purchased this as a lower cost alternative to the EcoTerra. It’s a great mattress - no complaints what so ever - I got lucky with this one. For those that read these reviews here is some info that I would have found useful during my mattress search. The mattress sleeps cool, is of medium firmness, and surprisingly does not smell at all. It showed up compressed and rolled up in a box and was easy to deploy. Was ready to use in only a matter of hours. Good manufacturing quality. Decent edge strength. I am 5’11” 235lbs and am a side sleeper and sleep well on this mattress. No problems with stomach sleep or supine positions. I recommend this mattress as a genuinely excellent value. If you are looking for a latex hybrid mattress consider this from Wolf Corp. Definitely worth it. Will revisit this post in 3 months or so to see how it holds up with time.
We bought this mattress in a Full size to serve as a primary bed for our 5-year old daughter's room. We wanted to buy a high quality mattress that was not only good for a growing kid but for guests staying over from time to time. I came close to purchasing a LUCID mattress (I was sick of researching mattresses and just wanted to be done with this bed purchase) but ended up reading a professional opinion on Wolf mattresses which led to this purchase. I'm not a mattress expert and am really only writing this review because I feel compelled to help anyone who's finding themselves in a similar quandry. I read a lot about the benefits of latex mattresses and toppers and this mattress fit the bill as far as the latex component and high coil count. The mattress is firm and comfortable--my 72-year old mother in law snuggled in the bed with our daughter for 2 weeks and has decided that she needs to replace her existing mattress with this same model. It shipped quickly, was a great price and I have zero complaints.
I am very disappointed... I have been sleeping a lot lately on the floor next to my daughters toddler bed because of illness, so decided to get her a bigger bed and mattress.. Our first night's sleep didn't feel much different than the floor did. I'm not sure how to return such a large object, but will be looking into it. I like that it's more environmentally friendly and not chemical laden, but it's coils are a bit squeaky, too. Was hoping for a wee bit of comfort for this price.
Great mattress. Have had it for several months now and still love it.
I literally spent upwards of 3 months researching mattresses. Reading reviews, looking into material used to manufacture them, and more importantly, where they were manufactured. My objective was twofold. Find a mattress manufactured in the U.S. using materials sourced and manufactured also in the U.S. No easy feat. My second goal, equally if not more important, was to purchase a mattress that would make it relatively easy for me to transfer in to and out of from my wheelchair. You see, I have a spinal cord injury and as a result, paralyzed from the neck down. I do not have a caregiver, and have been virtually independent since the my, but as I age, the things such as transferring into and out of bed becomes more challenging. I thought I was being diligent and asking the appropriate questions. I even called the manufacturer, Wolfe Mattress, who I was elated to discover, had their factory right here in my home State of Indiana, which I found to be a plus. So after much research, I ordered the mattress in August, 2017. Here it is November, 2017, and tomorrow I have another mattress being delivered. This mattress, despite what I read in the reviews and was told by the manufacturer to be very firm, to me is anything but firm. If you like sleeping in a bit of a crater, and sitting on the edge of the mattress with it depressing like a marshmallow, then I would say buy two of them. I have experienced neck and shoulder pain since I began sleeping on this mattress, and I actually thought I had torn a rotator cuff in my left shoulder, until putting two and two together and realizing it is the mattress that is the culprit. It is extremely difficult for me to sit on the edge of the mattress and transfer into my wheelchair. Imagine, if you can, sitting on a huge marshmallow and the only way you have to get up from it, is to push down with your hands/arms and push yourself up, and all the while as you push down, the marshmallow continues to give and depress downward, plunging your hand deeper into it, and providing virtually nothing in the way of firmness to allow you to push yourself off it. I have a very nice custom made bed with a platform, and took special care to ensure that the mattress I chose was as close to level to my wheelchair seat as possible, to make my transfers into to bed and out of bed both easy and safe. The firmness of the edge of the mattresses I was considering purchasing was paramount to my needs. This mattress is really nothing like described. Yes, it looks just like the one in the pictures, but it is devoid of anything that I would consider support, and if you have any sort of physical limitations, especially if you have a spinal cord injury or any neurological deficit that impairs your ability to walk, stand, or move freely, I would not even consider this mattress. Additionally, what probably aggravated me the most, was the lack of Customer Support. I addressed this issue with both the Vendor of this mattress, OJCommerce (read their return policy before buying anything from them. I didn't until after the fact and am now paying the price) and the manufacturer Wolf Corporation. OJCommerce never responded to any of my messages, and Wolf Corp. responded by saying they were sorry I had this problem, and that was it. So their solution was no solution at all, simply put, nothing but a hollow apology. Tomorrow my new mattress arrives.......a Sealy. It cost a couple hundred dollars more, but I have regretfully discovered that you cannot put a price on the creature comforts that a good mattress provides.
This is my 4th memory foam mattress (the first one was one of the store brand expensive type and was hot, sunk). ordered it for a full size bed for guests. I slept on this for two nights and this is by far the best of the four I have owned. It has a "firmness" but is not too squishy. The surface cover is soft, and almost has a "pillow top feel". I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago and slept on a high dollar foam mattress and was not impressed, sunk down and it was way too soft. I sleep without tossing and turning and wake up without my hips and shoulders aching. Definitely a good quality mattress for a good price.
The Wolf mattress we purchased from Hayneedle less than 1.5 years ago has a permanent dip where my daughter has slept. She only weighs 130 pounds. It has proven to make the mattress uncomfortable at this point. We have been informed that they would charge us 40% of a new mattress AND the costs to ship/exchange IF the depression is proven to measure at least 1.5 inches deep. Also, the replacement has ZERO warranty. Why would anyone give the company more money to potentially be stuck with the same problem. I would rather be told that a mattress is being sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. I would search a little longer or pay a little more up front.
I order the yogabed through their website, which was a breeze and the customer service was excellent. The bed, not so great. Upon unpacking, I notice a VERY strong chemical odor, which is from the foam off-gassing VOC's (volatile organic compounds) It took much longer than 3 days to dissipate, more like one week, which is much longer than anyone should have to inhale such a scent. Initially, the bed felt amazing, the cover is soft and stretchy (probably the best part of the whole mattress) and the top layer felt very nice. Sleeping on it was a different story though. After a few weeks the foam begins to soften as you "break-in" the bed. The parts where me and my partner slept, began to feel softer than the middle of the bed (and we're only 150 lbs). As a stomach and side-sleeper this was not ideal as I began to wake up with lower back pain. So we returned the bed. This seems to be a common problem with many foam beds in this price range. There are other beds on amazon that use similar materials and are a fraction of the cost (dreamfoam, brentwood homes etc). As for me and my partner, we opted for a bed that uses latex (natural, non-toxic, more durable than memory foam and doesn't smell) and a higher density base/core foam (more than 1.8 lbs) which seems to be holding up better. Do your research on foam beds and the quality of their materials. I would not recommend this bed to people who weigh over 180lbs or who have a sensitivity to chemical odors.
View More ReviewsAfter a TON of research on the available beds on the market right now, I felt that the Yogabed offered all of the features I was looking for in a mattress. We were extremely excited when it arrived and the experience of receiving the box, opening the mattress and getting things set up was wonderful. However, the bed was much firmer than I had anticipated! It works great for my husband who is a 6'4" 350# strongman, but my 130# frame feels like I'm sleeping on bricks. We ordered the mattress in November and have slept on it for almost two months now. I have lost more sleep in those months than over the course of my life! We're looking into other options and possibilities now and will be returning the Yogabed before our 101 day trial ends. I had such high hopes for this mattress and am disappointed with the actual product. I am still giving the review three stars though because their customer service and the experience with the company so far has been great, plus my husband said the bed is comfy for him even if it is a bit firm. Maybe a mattress topper would help....
My first night on this bed sucked.
I did not sleep well at all.
After that it was and has been the best mattress I've ever used. Still after almost 90 days it's absolutely incredible.
My wife and I have a new baby and every drop of sleep counts. Believe me when I say as soon as I fall asleep I'm ASLEEP. Often my wife will tell me about waking up to tend the baby and I have zero recollection of her getting up. That's how great I sleep.
I was very worried about how firm it would be, especially from all the reviews and ratings but I guess we are already used to a firm bed because so far this one has been out of this world. Not too firm at all.
To add to it, you can and SHOULD return this mattress within the 101 nights trial if it doesn't work out for you. It sounds like some of the other less than five star reviews have forgotten about this awesome policy. That makes it essentially RISK FREE and I can't understand why EVERYONE wouldn't just jump on regardless if they're sure of the bed or not.
If it doesn't work out for you, they will take it back and refund your money 100%. Simple.
Anyway, I'm writing this from my amazing yogabed and am about to turn out my bedside light for another night of awesome sleep. I can't wait.
Just do yourself a favor and stop debating. GET THIS MATTRESS. It's absolutely risk free and absolutely worth it.
My previous spring mattress was as hard as a rock. I suffered from lower back pain and rib pain as a side sleeper on a hard mattress with pressure points. The first few nights for me was up in the air, as i think my muscles and bones had to readjust. On the 4th night, voila ... i slept all the way through. I think the best way to describe this bed is medium firm with no pressure points. This mattress has literally changed my life, as i am now pain free. I forgot what it was like to wake up without aches. Bottom line is ... your mattress is CRITICAL, buy a good one. I'm sold on the foam concepts. There are now about 5 similar products like this. You can review the comparisons on Youtube. The Yogabed worked for me. If you hate it, they give you 365 days now to return it for a refund. They also include 2 pillows, and the mattress cover unzips so you can wash it. They also will include a topper of memory foam if you want to soften it a bit.
[i bought mine from the Yogabed website, as i had a good promo-code that doesn't work on Amazon. Same net price though]
I've had my yogabed for just over a year now and one thing I can easily say is that I have tested it harder than most anyone could. First, I am 6'4" and weight 270lbs. Right there I am putting more on the mattress than normal. Second, I've developed an auto immune disease. Still doing a bunch of tests but docs think it's psoriatic arthritis. Over the last year my pains levels have gone up and up, which puts me in bed for large portions of most days. A large guy (I'm pretty well proportioned, so not just big in the middle) on the bed for long periods of time.
Having said that, I'm very happy with yogabed. I'm a natural side sleeper, but my situation leaves me only able to lay on my back. When I could, I enjoyed sleeping on my side. Side note, the free pillows are really nice but not thick enough on there own for side sleeping. I do sleep comfortably on my back--as comfortably as I can at least. The mattress has a great feel to it. It gives, but you don't sink into it. Also the little bit of springiness is great to, compared to my previous mattress, a tempurpedic. That thing, while decently comfortable, was like moving in quicksand. Anyway, it also says pretty cool for a foam based mattress.
The cover is great. Super easy to unzip for washing and easy to reattach. It comes with two free pillows, which are high quality and great for back and stomach sleepers. Side sleepers will probably put a small pillow under to get proper head height. I would say the 6/10 firmness rating is right, but remember my size. Someone small will probably consider it more firm. Best thing I can say is, if your on the fence, try it. You get 101 days to try it and if you change your mind, you get a full refund and they will pick it up. Can't lose.
FINALLY! Awe... I think the search is finally over! After approximately a year of trying to find a bed I think I have finally found the perfect mattress for me.
Long story short. Never had back problems but my 10 year old mattress I would wake up with lower back pain (Would go away 10 minutes after getting up) and bed was starting to sag. Time for new mattress
So... I tried A mattress from Room& Board (Firm) and while no back pain was a little too firm. Then on to the online guys Tuft & Needle, Leesa, purple, and Yogabed.
In my opinion Nothing wrong with ANY of these but Yogabed seems to be the best at trading off firmness with bounce, sleeps cool, and price.
OK it's not the cheapest T&N is the winner there and It is not the most innovative, Purple is the winner there. BUT... It definitely sleeps the coolest, the response is very good, and the removable cover is just a plus. For sleeping (Which is probably the most important it has juuuustthe right amount of give where I felt the T&N was just a little too firm (And I like a firm bed) The Purple has too much technology does sleep as cool but is similar to Yogabed at a higher cost (must be trying to recoup all those patent costs or paying he goofy goldilocks actress too much $)
Customer service was good on all of them, but in the end Yogabed is the best option. I believe had Yogabed come out before T&N and the others they would dominate this market. Also you can try the T&N at one of their showrooms and I am sure that helps sales.
Bottom line Try the YogaBed or T&N first If you try T&N and want a smidge more give... go Yogabed If you love Yogabed but want just a smidge more firmness (Pretty firm) then opt for T&N. or if you just listen to me you will buy the Yogabed and not have to worry about any returns. It realy is an amazing Mattress and love it!!! Thanks Yogabed
My husband and I just had our first night on our new Yogabed and we both absolutely love it. It is the perfect balance of soft and firm. We both like that is is not so soft you sink into it like other foam beds. It relives all the pressure points and seems to customize to your body. It also sleeps cool which is great for the warm summer nights here. The pillows are magical as well. THANK YOU YOGABED!!! I'm currently convincing my parents to get one and will probably get a twin for our sons room.
I have had my bed for a little over a month at this point, and I really love it!
I would say that it is about 7.5/10 for firmness. This is ideal for me as it is soft enough to be comfortable, but firm enough that I don't sink into an uncomfortable position. However everyone prefers a different firmness so keep in mind that this mattress is on the firm side of average.
The bed is also interesting to set up, it arrives rolled up and vacuum packed. Once you open the plastic around the mattress it swells up to full size over the next few minutes. I noticed a few other reviews mentioned a weird smell from the mattress, but I only noticed a faint foam smell which dissipated within a day.
I ordered directly from the Yogabed website, and at first I thought I had a problem. All the reviews I had read indicated that the mattress would ship with two pillows but when mine arrived there were no pillows to be found. I sent their customer support a message asking if this was a mistake or if it was a limited time offer that I had missed, and it turns out that it was a promotion that had already ended. But they offered to send me a pair of pillows anyway! So I have to say that their customer support really went above and beyond the call of duty.
That about wraps it up. Comfy mattress, fantastic customer support. If you are looking for a new mattress then consider Yogabed.
Had this mattress for about 2 weeks now and have slept wonderfully. I think it's the perfect combination of a firm base combined with a soft and forgiving surface. Love the textured, cooling exterior of the mattress as well.
Surprisingly, for a free add-on, the pillows that come with the mattress are also incredibly comfortable (I anticipated throwing them in a closet and purchasing pillows separately, but now expect to just use the Yoga pillows).
To those who complain about the mattress being too firm: sure, you have to like a moderately firm mattress to like the Yogabed - but there is a difference between firm (i.e., supportive) and hard (i.e., uncomfortable). This is very much the former, and not at all the latter, in my opinion.
I'm also not a particularly large person (5'9, 140 lbs), so I don't think you have to be a massive individual to enjoy and benefit from this mattress.
my wife and I bought this mattress to replace our old one. we've had it for a couple of weeks. the first few days it was different but now it is great! we sleep soundly with minimal tossing and turning

After a TON of research on the available beds on the market right now, I felt that the Yogabed offered all of the features I was looking for in a mattress.
