Tempurpedic's Specifics

Quality of Materials

Tempur-Pedic is one of the most famous brands for memory foam mattresses, though recently they have branched out into hybrid mattresses as well. In many ways they put memory foam on the map for mattress shoppers. Overall, they offer foams in a variety of firmness and cooling levels. Their foams are high quality, though there is a major price barrier for some sleepers.

The pros: A variety of different foam options and the original blend of foams perfected over the past few decades.

The cons: Prices are very high compared with other newer online brands that claim to offer similar products.

Mattress Types

Tempur-Pedic makes three different lines of mattresses: TEMPUR-Contour, TEMPUR-Flex, and TEMPUR-Cloud. Each of these have various firmness and cooling options. We'll go over each of these lines in details.

TEMPUR-Contour

TEMPUR-Contour comes in two firmness options: firm and medium firm. Also, you can get a cooling gel 'Breeze' TEMPUR-Contour, which is medium firm. What's common in this line is that each of the mattress options are supported entirely by memory foam and foam. The most popular mattress of the line is the TEMPUR-Contour Supreme. Here is what is in it from top to bottom: first is the cover that is stitched with two thin layers of TEMPUR material (memory foam) that is denser to provide that firm feel, then on the bottom of the cover is cooling fabric. Next is a thin layer (1''-1.5'') of memory foam (again on the firmer side), followed by two much thicker layers of foam that act as a transition and base support foam. The overall profile is 11.5'', which is fairly high for a firm mattress.

The pros of this mattress line are its quality of foams and multiple firmness / cooling options.

The cons are that this is that these are much higher priced against other similar feeling mattresses.

Price Range: $1649-$5698

Final Score: 8.8 / 10

TEMPUR-Flex

TEMPUR-Flex runs from medium-firm to medium and is Tempur-Pedic's memory foam - pocket spring hybrid. Here's what's in the most popular TEMPUR-Flex Supreme: first is the cover that is stitched with two thin layers of TEMPUR material (memory foam) that is medium feel, then on the bottom of the cover is cooling fabric. Next is an ultra-soft TEMPUR-ES foam layer followed by a quick responding foam layer, and then the pocket coils act as the beginning of the support layer. Under that is a thin layer of base foam that keeps everything in place.

The pros: A great hybrid solution with quality foam and pocket coil system in a medium softness.

The cons: It is a higher price point vs many other online hybrids.

Price Range: $1599-$5398

Final Score: 9.0 / 10

TEMPUR-Cloud

The TEMPUR-Cloud is the softest and most expensive line that Tempur-Pedic makes and it is all memory foam. The most popular TEMPUR-Cloud Supreme Breeze is built top down with the following: first is the cover that is stitched with two thin layers of TEMPUR material (memory foam) that is soft in feel, then a PureCool extra-soft foam layer of foam, then an ultra-breathable transitional support layer that still runs on the soft side, and then lastly a thin base layer to give the mattress a foundation.

The pros: a very soft mattress with high quality memory foam.

The cons: A higher price point than other plush mattresses available online.

Price Range: $2849-$8098

Final Score: 9.0 / 10

Great Mattress!!

I received the mattress a few days ago, and after 24 hours, it has been some great sleep! The mattress itself is a bit on the firm side, but I have read that it will soften up, which is good.
It feels wonderful and is a great buy! I am so glad I went with this instead of the Tempurpedic or iComfort...Saved quite a bit! Overall, I am satisfied. The mattress came rolled up and vacuum sealed, so there was a slight odor, but that dissipated within 24 hours. The bed says, BedBoss on the side of it also. I'm excited to get to sleep in this weekend on it.
