Plushbeds Orthopedic foundation is a sturdy wooden foundation with some assembly (no additional tools required). It is made of solid wood, no particle board for extra sturdiness. It has a 8'' profile and the distance between the slats is only 2.5'', which provides one of the most evenly distributed foundations of those that we reviewed. However, there are some reports about durability issues.
Plushbeds Orthopedic foundation is one of the most difficult to set up because one has to assemble the wooden frame into place. This can take 20 - 40 minutes depending on the person, though most experienced it as a simple task.
The Plushbeds Orthopedic foundation has less room between its slats than competitors, which makes for better weight distribution. However, since it is a wooden frame (and only spec'd for 600lbs), those that are heavier and enjoy romantic activities that could strain the foundation may want to do additional research.
This foundation does not have any concerns about noise. To make sure that this remains quiet, make sure that the cover is in between any areas of potential friction.
This is a solid foundation that is good for most mattresses. Make sure that the mattress warranty doesn't mention specific brand requirements for foundations. The close distance between the slats in this foundation should mean that it is approved by nearly all mattress warranties.
I ended up screwing all the slats down as they rattled and one end would rise when other end was pushed down. I realize this foundation is not made by Plushbeds, and needs to be easily shippped. With the extra screws, It gives nice support for the natural latex mattress.View More Reviews
Plushbeds orthopedic foundation was one that comes in pieces. I was a little concerned about getting a foundation that I had to assemble since I really am not very handy. The sales rep over the phone assured me that the assembly was very easy. And by golly, he was right. It was easy even for me.
It arrived unassembled but it was easy to put together and the finished product was strong and very supportive. It holds a lot of weight and it gives great support.
Easy to get into the house, worked very well with my new memory foam mattress.
I can't really say how I like this foundation since I just don't know how to compare it with others. I have no complaints. I read that the slat style foundations help air circulate! It was tough putting on the cover that zips over it since it's a very tight fit.
Great support, easy to put together, hold my weight plush a 12'' Botanical Bliss mattress nicely and I weigh 220 lbs.
This foundation comes unassembled. It took us 25 minutes to put the foundation together and it was easy to do. The instructions are easy to follow. It is a strong and sturdy foundation and it supports the mattress well.
The foundation was very easy to put together once I figured it out. The cover was a little confusing, but not bad.
The foundation, unfortunatley had a defect in one of the slats. My poor husband sat down to try out our new bed, and immediately heard a crack. One of the slats had completely broken in half. Customer service shipped us a new foundation immediately. Great company.
Esy to put together. Gives nice support for our 12'' Cool Bliss memory foam mattress.
Well made, easy to assemble. The foundation handles the latex mattress beautifully. With the addition of a heavy duty bed frame on wheels, it's easy to move for cleaning. Very satisfied with this product.
I was a little nervous when I found out that the orthopedic foundation will arrive unassembled since I am not too handy. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to assemble. The instructions were included and they were easy to follow. It took me approximately 30 minutes to put it together. I did have to call customer service at one point just to make sure I installed the slats correctly and they were very helpful and stayed on the phone with me to walk me through the steps and make sure I was ok. After the assembly, I put the foundation on a basic metal frame that I had from my old mattress and it fit nicely. Then, I put my new natural latex mattress on top of it and it works nicely. I weigh over 250 pounds and it gives great support. It is made of very strong and sturdy wood and it does not creek or make noises when I sit on the bed. It really holds up nicely. Impressive.
I purchased the 12'' Botanical Bliss mattress and love it! I realized that my foundation needed replacement too and so I order it two weeks later. I regret not purchasing it at the same time since the natural latex is like moving a large dead fish.
My tinkering friend put the foundation together for me and said it was a so easy! Together we put the cover on and it was a breeze!
The foundation is solid and does not make any squeaky noise and I can see this foundation lasting a life time.
Easy to put together, does the job, gives nice support
I am really unhappy with this 'orthopedic foundation.' I was assured that this was the best foundation for my new expensive all latex mattress. It was not easy for me to put this together and some parts were missing.
I expected this wooden orthopedic foundation to be stronger. When the box arrived, a few of the slats were broken. Customer service was great and they shipped me an entirely brand new foundation which was good.
Plushbeds orthopedic foundation arrives unassembled in the box. I am not handy at all and found it very easy to put together. It was actually nice to have it unassembled because the box was easier to get upstairs to the bedroom. Very sturdy, nice foundation for our new latex mattress.
I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Spruce wood foundation I purchased from PlushBeds. It is offering great support for my new latex mattress. It is so different from my original box spring, I wasn't sure that I would like it, but I really do.
