Naturepedic makes a variety of mattresses for adults and children. Their popularity stems from being an organic mattress maker. What does organic mean in the mattress context? It means that they only use organic textiles (think cotton) and organic foams (think latex). This differentiator is a big plus for those that suffer from allergy sensitivities or have young children that do. You are going to expect to pay a premium for such materials.
Zenhaven is another brand by the factory-direct Saatva brand, which has done very well with their Saatva and Loom and Leaf brands. The Zenhaven mattress is an all-natural alternative with high-end materials like organic wool and 100% Talalay latex. What's more incredible: the pricepoint is much more affordable than major retailer varieties of the same quality, which is why it is such a great find for eco-conscious shoppers.
Based on our aggregated reviews and our scoring method, we recommend Zenhaven in this match up!

Customer satisfaction is not always easy to figure out with brands doing lots of work to have superb online reputations. That said, these mattresses get good marks from customers overall. However, there were some complaints from sleepers that didn't feel as comfortable. so make sure to read on to learn if these mattresses will work for you.
Most reviewers find these mattresses to be supportive, which means they cradle the body to align the spine for most sleepers. That said, there are a few issues reported by a few customers, so make sure to do extra research to make sure that this mattress fits your sleeping preference and body type.
Overall, most reviewers report these mattresses have good edge support, which means most don't experience a noticeable depression when rolling towards the side of the mattress.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
In tests that measure to see if a mattress has even support throughout the mattress, these mattresses are well supported throughout the surface. That said, some have complained about support issues over a long period, so make sure it works for you before purchasing.
Longevity in comfort is essential for mattress shoppers. However, with mattress brands aiming for higher profits, it is not always an easy attribute to find. Luckily, with data from customers and material craftsmanship, these mattresses are rated well for durability and should give sleepers over 5 years of comfort for most. But, some folks who are heavier may find their mattress loses some durability.
Sleepers give these mattresses solid scores for overall satisfaction, which means when we did an investigation of the current data from customers, we found these mattresses were ranked highly. This is a good place to start to find out if one of these mattresses is a good pick for you -- read on for more specifics.
These mattresses are well-rated in their supportiveness. Reviewers describe their hips and shoulders being cradled and their spine being aligned.
These mattresses also know a thing or two about edge support, which is how a mattress does keeping its firmness from its core to along its sides. For people that like to sit on the edge of the mattress, these mattresses should do a good job holding you up without sagging or contouring too much.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
Resting a bowling ball on your mattress is a good indicator of firmness, and it can also show the differences in firmness throughout the mattress surface. Therefore, it can show if there is even resistance or if some areas sag. Based on this, these mattresses will do well in their even support of the spine.
Having a durable mattress is a deciding factor to mattress shoppers. In this day and age, mattresses should last between 7 and 12 years with average use to be considered durable. That said, some factors that affect durability are sleeper size and material quality. Customers rate these highly for durability. However, some that are heavier may see a slight decrease in durability.
We love this mattress. I was very worried about buying a mattress for my 2 year old because in the past when I've bought traditional mattresses, the off-gassing took months (that was before I knew better about the horrible chemicals in mattresses). My son had a Naturepedic crib mattress and the transition to the Naturepedic twin mattress was a good choice. When the mattress was delivered we set it up in his room and he was able to use it that very night. No off-gassing horrible chemicals, no bad smells. What a relief! I'm very sensitive to chemical smells so I was happy to not have to deal with that here. We started off on the firm side of the mattress for my 2 year old, but it was very hard. He's been sleeping on the firm side for 1 month, but he keeps waking up at night. We also found that he was trying to put his entire body on his pillow, so we thought he would prefer a softer feel. A few days ago we flipped it over to the quilted side and that feels much better. We still need to get a waterproof pad for it, since the quilted side is not waterproof and he's not yet potty-trained. I would not hesitate to purchase this mattress again. It was very expensive, but if he uses it for 10 years, that's only $75/year. Well worth the peace of mind.View More Reviews
I was nervous when I purchased this mattress because many reviews say it is too firm. Is it firm? Yes. Uncomfortable? No. My son went from a conventional plastic-y crib mattress to this mattress. This one is considerably softer and more comfortable. I lay with him at night as he falls asleep, and I am not uncomfortable on the mattress. I have had no complaints. In fact, we are thinking of buying one for each of our other children. This is a great mattress and is one of the most affordable non-toxic mattresses available. It is firm but not uncomfortable. I highly recommend!
This is a fantastic kid's mattress that made for a seamless transition from the Naturepedic crib mattress. If you're unfamiliar with these mattresses and are accustomed to soft, plush "grown-up" mattresses, you may find this too firm or too stark. However, it's perfect for a kid's growing body. There is no worry of off-gassing or chemical smells - it came right out of the box and onto the bed with no airing out time. The waterproof side is great, with a nice texture that is nothing like a plastic-y waterproof pad. This is a high-quality mattress made from high-quality materials that will leave everyone sleeping well at night!
Ordered this mattress after much research and debate. I am happy with my decision. The mattress was not too firm as other reviews remarked, and is actually almost softer than I wanted because I was hoping the firmer the mattress the longer it will last. It is certainly much softer than the 2-sided naturepedic crib mattress. I bought this for my son transitioning to a big boy bed and expect it to last through childhood. I believe it will and it is very comfortable. We are using the waterproof side which I LOVE. It protects the top and sides without having an awful crunchy, noisy sound or feeling. There was a slight natural odor as some commented in reviews but only if you put your nose to the bed and you can't smell it from the waterproof side. Certainly no strong odor or chemical smell. It is expensive, but compared to adult organic, non-toxic mattresses it is much cheaper and I felt was worth the investment for my son's health and my peace of mind.
12/13/2015 Update: After receiving an email from Naturepedic that the mattress I purchased was defective, I ordered a new one. We've had the mattress for about five months now. No issues with lumpiness. However, I feel like the outer trim of the mattress is starting to loose it's shape/looking bent. I don't believe this is normal wear-and-tear because I've never had this issue with my other mattress. =( I was excited to purchase this matress for my toddler as her new big girl bed; however, I was disappointed with the product for a few reasons: 1) I grew up sleeping on very firm mattresses. I prefer them and enjoy them. Although firm, something about this mattress made it quite uncomfortable. It's just too firm. 2) The discomfort of the firm mattress could be that it feels lumpy. It seems like individual springs can be felt while laying on the bed and shifting positions. 3) The waterproof side of the matress seemed loud. The cover was not taught, so when I moved my arms across it, it was as if I was laying on vinyl plastic that can be heard when moving. I purchased a NP crib mattress and had no problems with its quality; however, the twin mattress was a big disappointment. If you have a recommendation for a quality organic mattress, please share.
I never write reviews but I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this mattress. We've had it for just over a year now and we still have not transitioned my toddler to the bed so this mattress has only been slept on a handful of times by the occasional house guest. When we first received this mattress I noticed that it elevated in the center so it almost felt as if you were rolling down hill on either side of the mattress. I thought perhaps this was because it was new and that it would settle down over time but sadly it hasn't. Also the sides of the mattress are sagging. It's almost as if the side of the mattress totally collapses on itself when you sit on it. I flipped the mattress over to the non-potty training side and it weirdly lumpy. I wanted to love this mattress. I paid more for this mattress than I wanted to because I trusted the brand and I definitely wanted an organic mattress. But I'm sad to say that this mattress was not even close to what we were hoping for. We wanted a mattress our toddler could grow up on, now I'm going to have to buy him a new mattress before he even gets a chance to use it.
Since infancy, my now 3 year-old daughter has slept on a Naturepedic crib mattress in her crib and toddler bed. So when she recently transitioned to a twin-sized "big girl" bed (Charleston Solid Hardwood Platform Bed Frame - Twin Size), Naturepedic was our first choice for a mattress that we knew would be free of chemical flame retardants. We opted for the 2-in-1 mattress instead of the single-sided one for $100 cheaper because we knew from experience (with the crib mattress) that it's 100-times easier to wipe up accidents from the waterproof fabric of the mattress itself, than to have to remove a separate mattress pad and throw it in the wash. Plus, many waterproof mattress pads are made of PVC/vinyl, a toxic plastic the emits phthalate fumes that you don't want your child inhaling in their sleep! The waterproof side of the Naturepedic mattress is made of food-grade polyethylene, which is non-toxic and doesn't give off any harmful fumes. Yes, the waterproof side of the mattress is somewhat firm, but not excessively so, and most importantly, my daughter has never complained about being uncomfortable. After all, she spent the first 3+ years of her life sleeping on an ultra-firm crib mattress, so she doesn't know any differently when it comes to sleeping surfaces. Plus, pediatricians recommend a firm mattress for younger kids, whose bones and skeletal structures are still developing. Once my daughter is older (and fully nighttime potty-trained!), we'll flip the mattress over and use the quilted side. This mattress was recently put to the test and passed with flying colors! A few weeks after we bought it, my daughter had an upset stomach in the middle of the night. She threw up a total of 4 times, soaking her pajamas and bed sheets, but the waterproof surface of this Naturepedic mattress completely withstood it all. Each time, all we needed to do was to wipe the surface of the mattress with Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Wipes, 70 Count, change the sheets and put her back to bed. We wouldn't have had enough mattress pads to cope with all the throw-ups that she had. In short, this mattress helped make a rough night a little less difficult for all of us. I highly recommend it. Grade: A
Switching to this mattress stopped an allergic reaction I was having to my memory foam mattress (all the chemicals!). So in that respect, 5 stars. But this mattress is very hard, so I had to buy a latex mattress topper to be able to sleep on it.
My 13 year old wanted a really firm mattress, so we bought him this one. He even wanted the firmer side up. That lasted a day. So we flipped it to the "less firm" side, which was still way too hard. The two sides are board v. Heavy blanket on board. We wound up buying him a 3" featherbed. I still find it too hard, but he likes it now, though, and finds it just right. The featherbed made all the difference.
We purchased this mattress for our now 3 year-old son. I have read that sleeping on an extra firm mattress is good for growing bodies, but I must say that as a mother laying next to him at bedtime, it feels a bit uncomfortable. That being said, our son has never complained, and it has been almost 6 months since he started sleeping on it. Naturepedic has a good price for an organic mattress, so we will simply purchase an organic topper for comfort when he needs it.
I really like the idea of this bed and the fact that it doesn't have most of the nasty chemicals in it that other beds do. That said this is not the most comfortable bed. Its heavy and feels bouncy. My little boy doesn't seem to mind it, but it just isn't that comfortable of a bed.
I hate to give a low rating to a company that makes a matress with little or no fire retardants, but, this mattress was very uncomfortable. It felt like an old crib matress. Even on the softer side of the mattress, you could feel every spring.
Great mattress for our 2 year old. No chemical smells, and nice cleanable surface.
This has been great for my daughter. Feels like a regular mattress. It has held up very well, despite my daughter jumping on it at least weekly, and sometimes with her friends (it is on the floor for safety reasons). I would give it 5 stars if it were cheaper....seemed a little bit more expensive than it needed to be.
This is the second time I have purchased this item and I am very happy with it. As described & well packaged. I would recommend this product and seller.
I have three of these that I have purchased over the years for my three kids. Outstanding quality and complete satisfaction. Never had to offgas it. And sleep comfortably knowing my kids are not exposed to harmful chemicals. This mattress is supported by the environmental working group.
Excellent. Item was purchased for 2 year old. Used on the floor (montessori inspired) with a low profile boxspring. Child sleeps well and I've even fell asleep on it. Very expensive but worth the cost. No odors or new mattress smell.
The bed was purchased for my 3 year old granddaughter because my daughter felt it was important for her to have an organic mattress. We chose this one because it was mid-price and had one waterproof side. Also free shipping with Amazon prime! The bed seems to be very supportive, comfortable and quite dense so I imagine it will hold up well for many years.
Bought this for my 2 year old son. There is no chemical smell with this mattress which is 1 reason why I purchased. My daughters mattress from a regular mattress brand was purchased 3 years ago and still stinks like chemicals when I take the sheets and cover off. This mattress is also great with the waterproof side that actually works and is easy to clean. Comfortable and my son loves it
Not for those with aches and pains, but good for kids! We have a twin and a full size of this brand and are very happy. We also bought real mattress protectors since the mattresses are expensive, but so worth it.
Few people realize the dangerous chemicals in traditional mattresses. It may see like a huge expense to spring for the organic mattress, but it's well worth it knowing that your child is not inhaling toxins while s/he sleeps. As far as organic mattresses go, this one is extremely comfortable. The vendor, "Elephant Ears" I think it was called was excellent and offered free shipping, which saved me $150. This was a very good buy. My baby sleeps like a baby in it.
Excellent quality and finish. Perfect for toddler transitioning from naturepedic infant mattress.
Fits great for a 3 year old. No smell as others stated
This mattress is great. We don't think it is at all hard as other reviewers have complained. If you want a super deep pillow top type mattress then this probably isn't the one for you, but for a high quality, comfortable, basic organic mattress this one fits perfectly.
Love Naturepedic! Wish they made a king size!!
I bought these for my twins after they grew out of their cribs. I had also used Naturepedic mattresses in their cribs. These mattresses are comfortable and reasonably priced for organic, chemical free mattresses. I would always recommend this brand and will buy this brand for my bed when it's time to replace our current mattress.
Fabulous bed! Zero odor, soft Quilting, natural materials.
Great service, love these mattresses. Hopefully it lasts 20 years!
A little bit too hard on one side.
I bought two of these mattresses for my daughters (age 7 and 11) thinking that the the firmness shouldn't be an issue for bodies as light as they are. I love the fact that they are organic, and that they have a water proof side which is good for the earlier, bed-wetting ages. However, they are so hard that my daughters complain about them. I tried a thin topper, and that didn't work. I eventually bought a 3 inch organic foam topper for one of the mattresses and that did the trick for my older daughter. However, the cost worked out such that I would have been better off getting an organic foam mattress to start with.
Great mattress, a little on the firm side which is what I was looking for.
I bought this mattress because it was chemical-free, and I feel really good about that. I thought it was hypoallergenic, but when I received it, noticed that it had side vents. When I called the company about this, they tried to tell me that dust mites stay on the top layer only, so they offered a mattress pad. I'm a physician, and I wasn't happy with that response. I had to buy an additional hypoallergenic cover. It's nice that one side is waterproof, and the other side cottony. I've had the mattress for about a year now for my two year old. It sagged a bit immediately, and the top layer is a bit loose. These are made on a one-by-one basis, and made to order, so I guess that's ok. I thought this would last him 'til high school, but now I'm not so sure. It hurts my back to sleep on it because it's rather firm. After a year, it seems to have an odd-rice-homey sort of smell. Not sure I would buy again because of the price. Maybe all natural/chemical free mattresses sag?! I gave it four stars instead of three because at the time of purchase, there were not a lot of options out there for safer mattresses.
This is our second Naturepedic twin mattress, and we've also purchased multiple crib mattresses. We always love them, and feel good about our kids burying their faces in this organic, harsh-chemical free mattress. I read through the reviews, but have to disagree that this mattress is too firm, at least, not for a child. I bought it for my preschooler, and little kids often use firmer mattresses. I've fallen asleep on it multiple times and think it's fine, and my kids sleep well on these. I love that one side is water-proof for now, and that we can flip it over for a softer side for when the kids are a bit older. I have no complaints at all. UPDATE: At age 6, my son did start to complain that his mattress was too hard. It was wonderful to be able to simply flip his mattress over from the water-proof side to the softer side and please him without having to buy a new mattress! I also have to add that Naturepedic stands behind their lifetime guarantee. After less than 6 months, a spring had somehow rotated itself sideways in our second of these mattresses and was poking to the side. We don't know why or how this happened, but we wrote to Naturepedic and sent them pictures, and they immediately sent us a new mattress. No charge, no hassle. Very, very pleased.
It was pretty weird to buy a mattress online, but I had no luck finding a local store that sold organic (or just non-toxic) mattresses. I really wanted my son to have a mattress that wouldn't be harmful to his health. This one fits the bill, and it seems to be the least expensive option out there. The manufacturer's own website has it listed for $100 more than Amazon, plus they charge $75 shipping. I was pleased with Amazon's price and the free shipping (from Pennsylvania to California, no less!) The mattress is firm, but comfortable. My 3-year-old son has been sleeping just fine on it. I took a nap on it one day, and I noticed it was firmer than my own mattress.... but I slept just fine.
I really wanted to love this mattress. Organic was a priority for me and when reading the reviews it seemed perfect. Unfortunately, the mattress I received is hollow. There is absolutely no support in the middle of this mattress and if an adult was to lay on it, it caves dramatically in the center. I have no idea if my particular mattress is defective but I am definitely disappointed in the product.
I did a lot of research on mattresses and the incidences of sids when my daughter was born, and ultimately went with an organic crib mattress. When it came time to getting her a big girl bed, I had a very hard time finding full organic mattresses. Not one store in my entire city sells them. So I turned online, and researched every brand I could find. I needed an organic mattress that was not based with latex, and so many of them are. I'm allergic to latex, and fear my daughter will eventually share that allergy. Naturepedic is the brand I continued to come back to, as the best option on the market. Expensive, yes, but there are others that are far more, and none that are less that are made of cotton and not latex. What made me hesitate the most in my purchase is the reviews that said the mattress was too firm. I looked into organic mattress toppers that could help with that, but even those were a small fortune. Finally, I decided to go with this mattress. So glad I did, excellent choice. It is NOT too firm or too hard, it's extremely comfortable. It's possible that they made changes since some of these reviews were posted, to make it less hard. I have a terrible back & hip, and this mattress is comfortable to me. My daughter absolutely melts into it, and sleeps wonderfully! It had zero smell when we opened it - no off gassing, no need to air it out at all. When reading reviews, read the newest ones first. Because I think changes were made to this mattress to make it even better. For us, it's a non-toxic, organic, comfortable, odorless option for a mattress. I really think this one is your best bet!
I was slightly worried about ordering this mattress after reading a couple of reviews stating it was rock hard. I went ahead and ordered it anyway because my daughter has chemical sensitivities, and this was the least expensive, safest option I could find for her. I am happy to report that this mattress, while firm, is indeed comfortable enough- I actually fell asleep while laying with my daughter at bedtime and had a very restful night. My back and hips also felt great when I woke. My daughter slept like a rock and didn't stir until morning. I also noticed that, while I am usually a mouth breather when I sleep, it was very easy for me to breathe through my nose last night. This could be due to the newness of the mattress and the absence of dust mites, but I think the lack of chemicals is probably a contributing factor (I usually start sneezing whenever I walk into a store that sells new furniture because of the off-gassing chemicals). My daughter's nose seemed to stay clear as well. This was a big expenditure for us, but I'm glad we did it because now we have peace of mind that our little girl has a healthy place to sleep until she reaches adulthood. When we can afford it, I'd love to get a Naturepedic for the master bedroom as well.
After sleeping on a very worn but beloved traditional mattress for 15 years and trying to be more eco-conscious and not taken by the big-box mattress stores that have popped up seemingly everywhere, my husband and I took a chance on the Zenhaven King. I was sold the minute I laid eyes (and my back) on it but my husband thought the Plush Soft side was a little too soft and while supportive, not firm enough for his back issues. So we flipped (actually rolled it over) to the Gentle Firm side and all is well in the universe. Flipping the mattress took our sleep experience to a new level. He is now talking about purchasing the Lineal Adjustable Base as well and I really want to try the pillows. The only thing that was a bit of an issue was that the mattress is designed to be used without a box-spring, which lowers the bed height significantly. Husband is 6'2 and I am 5'8. The bed was too low to easily get on without flopping so we are using our box-springs under the mattress to regain the height until we purchase the Adjustable Lineal Base. The customer service reps were very helpful and patient with our many questions and there was absolutely no pressure to buy. Considering the risk involved in purchasing something like this sight-unseen, this was by far one of the best decisions we have made.View More Reviews
We received our new Zenhaven bed about a week ago and have to force ourselves to get up every morning! It is hands down the most amazing mattress we've ever had after 33 years of marriage and multiple purchases of other brands. This mattress provides deep, restful sleep throughout the night. We also ordered the Saatva Dreams pillows and sheets in Ivory. They are just wonderful. Also, our delivery men (Duke and Chris from Coast to Coast Delivery) were outstanding. They set up the entire bed and made sure we had the side up that felt the most comfortable to us (Plus Soft). They also took away our old mattress (a huge bonus). All in all, we could not be more pleased with the entire process. Going back for naps right now! Carol and Mike Paine, Southport, NC.
We had a foam mattress set that dipped in the middle over time and wasn't supporting our backs; we woke up every morning with a back ache. About 9 months ago, we purchased a split king Zenhaven mattress set along with the automatic adjustable platform beds, and have never slept better. This was our first experience sleeping on a latex mattress, and and we will never go back to foam beds or spring mattresses. We really look forward to going to sleep each night. The Zenhaven doesn't sleep hot like foam, and you feel like you are floating on top of the mattress, instead of sinking into it, it's heaven! We both sleep on the softer side of the mattress, and it's feels firm enough for us to support our back, hips, and shoulders. The only negative was the delivery service, they weren't careful delivering and setting up the mattresses and adjustable beds in our home. Other than that, we are extremely happy with our purchase.
We have been sleeping on this bed for over 6 months. It is the most comfortable bed we have ever had. I was nervous about a latex bed as we have only ever had innerspring mattresses. My back felt better on the firm side. The bed is very heavy so make sure you have help when moving it. It was a very good investment and we would make the purchase again if we were to do it all over again!
We purchased 2 twin extra long mattresses to fit in our king sized bed close to a year ago. They fit great and with a padded mattress cover it is difficult to feel any separation when lying on the seam between the two. After being used to mattresses (with memory foam on top) which quickly developed saggy, softer body depressions, you have to get used to this flatter mattress. After the first night, my lower back was a bit stiff and my husbands was sore. The second night you could literally feel your body adapting to the flatness and we both felt great. The mattress gets more and more comfortable as you get used to it. I did need a slightly higher pillow to support my neck than in a bed where you sink more. My husband now calls it the healing bed and we can't wait to get one for our spare bedroom which we might use if one of us can't sleep or becomes ill. It has been 11+ months since purchase and there are small body depressions where we normally lie down. It is not enough to change the comfortable, supportive, flat, gently firm feel of the mattress and not anywhere near as much as any of the mattresses we have had in the past. Disclaimer: we can't sleep on very firm mattresses as our limbs fall asleep and we need to add mattress pads on top. We are both thin at ~115 and 155 lbs so can't guarantee this for those who weigh a lot more. We just returned from a vacation where we slept well on 4 different good quality, nice hotel mattresses and found our Zenhaven the most comfortable when we returned. So happy to have finally found a mattress we love! Being a cancer survivor and environmentally conscious person, I was also delighted with the lack of chemical smell and natural materials (I don't use products with perfumes and am sensitive to offgassing smells).
After a year, I have to say that I finally sleep like the way you are meant to sleep. My back no longer bothers me, I sleep through the night and I don't bother my wife. I'm a big guy and move alot. I don't remember anything about the delivery, so that was fine. The mattress looks like the day I bought it, there are no impressios whatsoever. Without a doubt I would buy another mattress from Zen Haven.
Following weeks of research on mattress materials, life expectancy, different companies and reviews, we purchased the king size Zenhaven mattress. We hesitated due to the cost, however this mattress did offer a 120 day trial, the best materials and the longest life expectancy. Plus, it's the only mattress we found which had a firm side and can be flipped over to a softer side. I suffer from degenerating disks in my lower back. We use the softer side. I found I needed a bit more soft and contacted customer service. They shipped us a king size topper, made of the same quality materials as the mattress, at NO charge. This was the perfect solution as I've never slept so well! No pain whatsoever all night long. We've had our Zenhaven for 6 months now and we couldn't be happier with our purchase! Their customer service is exceptional. I have contacted them on 3 occasions with questions. Each time they were courteous, professional and helpful. This company and their employees are top notch!
My wife and I were exceptionally pleased with Zenhaven and the Saatva Company. They completely stood behind their bed, my wife loved it though I needed a firmer latex and felt it was too soft. Alex Y. was so helpful in suggesting options which we tried. Their delivery team headed by Sumaya was equally helpful. This company is selling a good nights sleep and not just quality beds. This is truly a five star company!
The Zenhaven is not cheap, but I am so glad we bought it. I started looking into latex mattresses after a few trips to Europe and cruises and decided I wanted a dunlop process latex mattress. The research has definitely paid off in much better sleep. I *love* our mattress! The motion isolation is incredible and no back aches when I wake up.

Although the mattress did not work for us, I wanted to leave a review about the great customer service that we received throughout the entire buying/returning process. Every staff member that we spoke to was kind, informative and accommodating. Every process, from buying to returning was made easy. Thank you for your great service.
From the pre support chat to delivery. The sleep is wonderful. I used to wake up 3 to 4 times a night. No more. Really a wonderful product from start to sleep. Recommend 110%
We did the split king which worked out perfectly. One side of the mattress being firm and the other a little softer. That way my wife and I each get the comfort level we prefer and with the adjustable base we are able to enjoy a great nights sleep. I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone who is looking for an affordable latex mattress.
I would give more than 5 stars if I could. This company has excellent customer care, and honestly, I didn’t know a mattress could be this comfortable. I have chronic shoulder and neck pain and I have not had any pain while sleeping on my new Zenhaven. This bed provides the support needed for my back and a plush, soft feel that is pressure free on my shoulder. Please note: carefully choose a mattress protector. The first one I tried had little stretch and as a result made the bed feel hard and cheap. The cover I have now is stretchy and does not take away from the amazing qualities of this very comfortable bed.
It is early yet for me to be totally clear on this queen size mattress but it feels great. Here is why Zenhaven gets a 3 star: The delivery arrived within the 7 to 15 days. The delivery agents did NOT contact me before delivery. So, they showed up with the mattress when I was not home. The next door neighbor, with dementia, hobbled over and the delivery agents ALLOWED HIM TO SIGN for the mattress. Who knows which name he may have signed with. Then, they just left it on the deck near my door. Fortunately, I arrived home between rain storms. The delivery agents were gone but they delivered the mattress in some old unlabeled truck, did not leave a note/message/signed receipt or business card. I had no way of contacting them. So, the story gets better when you picture me, at 130 lbs, moving a flexible 60 x 80, 125 lb. mattress into my home and getting it settled in the room. Believe me, this is rich material for a stand up comic. I've no idea what a 'white glove' delivery service is like but I do know that I got the KY Gel + Rubber Glove delivery service.
We've had our mattress for about 6 months now and are very happy with the purchase. When shopping around, I was most concerned about heat levels (I sleep hot so wanted something that would stay cool) and sagging (I'm 190 lbs and my last mattress had a crater). So far, have not had any issues on those topics. Also, the mattress is extremely comfortable. It seems very well made - very dense, heavy - so feel like it should last a long time.
We shopped a number of mattresses from traditional manufacturers. Styles included box spring, memory foam, inflatable, and latex. Most of our choices cost between $4000-5000 and we found things to be concerned about with each of them. Because of the satisfaction guaranty and easy return policy, we decided to take a chance on a Zenhaven latex mattress. The purchase process was simple and we were aided by knowledgeable customer service representatives. Delivery was timely and professional. We tried the mattress in both sides, with focus on the level of support, the ability to relieve pressure points, and the ability to move without affecting each other's side of the mattress. We ultimately chose the firmer side of the Zenhaven. After 6 months of use, we are entirely satisfied with our purchase. We no longer suffer from back or shoulder pain, as we did from our previous, too firm mattress. The mattress sleeps cool, has never outgassed any odors, and recovers quickly from the previous night's sleep. All this, and we saved at least $2000 by choosing the Zenhaven over our other options. All of our purchases should turn out so satisfactorily!
We had an airbed for 20 years and decided to go different this time. We visited many stores to look at mattresses. We finally decided on the Talaly foam mattress. I went to the internet and was directed to Zenhaven. The service was very good, the delivery after the first try was the best and the mattress is all it was supposed to be. My husband was complaining of back pain before and the has, thankfully, stopped. We are extremely pleased with our purchase.
This review is for queen mattress, foundation and frame delivered in October 2017. The most frustrating part of ordering this bed was navigating around the Zenhaven website to find the answers to my questions. As this was a big ticket purchase for something crucial to life (a good night's sleep), I wanted to do the research because I had no way to test the bed beforehand. So, after much research, an online chat with a Zenhaven employee and research elsewhere on the web, I placed my order. To cut a long story short, I wasn't present at the time of delivery but I'm told the delivery people gave the white glove treatment and wore booties over their street shoes to avoid tracking mud/dirt into my house. The heavy, queen mattress was delivered rolled up. The mattress was flipped so we would sleep on the firm side, as ordered. There was most definitely an odor from the mattress for the first few days. It was not wholly unpleasant but I was happier when it was gone. My husband adjusted to new mattress material within nights. He had suffered back pain and this was the impetus to get a new mattress. Within a week of sleeping on the Zenhaven mattress, his back pain has gone and has not returned.
Unbelievably comfortable mattress, sleeps cool, provides the right level of support especially if you alternate between sleeping on side and back. I wake up energized and refreshed. I was nervous making such an important purchase online but the sales representative was informative and eased my concerns. The company accommodated expedited delivery and the delivery company provided white glove service. I wish I could purchase pillows from Zen Haven!

Never thought I'd buy a latex mattress, let alone buy one online without ever trying it out. Am so glad that I did. This is a great mattress. It is really comfortable. Really comfortable. What else can I say.
After much shopping and research and laying on mattresses at different stores, we ordered a Zenhaven set. We had the delivery team place it on the Luxury Plush side. Took just a few days for us to love this mattress. We had been sleeping on a memory foam topper on an 8 year old set. We really like the new Zenhaven, and with the 20 yr. guarantee, this may be the last set we ever buy. I would recommend this mattress to anyone wanting to sleep on top of a bed instead of sinking into one.
We have received fast, response on our zenhaven box spring 2 times! Great 1st class!!
I always used to hear people talking abouy how much thwy live their bed, how they miss it when they're away, etc. And inside im thinking "whats so great about a bed or a mattress? Who cares?!" After 9 months with this one, i get it. This is the best mattress I’ve ever slept on and one of the most worthwhile purchases I've made. Good sleep is one of the most important things we need it's up there worth reading and breathing. Check out the doctor of sleep Prof Ruben Naiman too if you want to learn more.
My husband and i love this mattress - so much so that after the first purchase we ordered two more! My husband has complained about every other mattress we have had - and we have had the best -- sleep number, etc. The on-line purchase was easy. The delivery in all three instances was very smooth. Can't say enough good things about this company.
I decided to splurge on a Zenhaven mattress in part because I have chronic lower back pain and I found that the right mattress can help a great deal. It was the most expensive option but so far I'm happy with my purchase. Initially I was surprised that the firm side of the mattress didn't feel nearly firm enough, but after sleeping in it for a couple of months, I can say this is the best mattress I've ever owned. The only downside is that the material is very heavy - they have movers who will deliver and setup the mattress so it wasn't a big deal but if you plan on moving shortly thereafter, it requires 2 - 3 people to move a king mattress.
I've had other highly-regarded mattresses in the past, but the Zenhaven stands head and shoulders above them all. Quality construction, excellent customer service, and--most important--more than 200 nights of amazing sleep without any soreness in the morning are characteristics of the Zenhaven. I am a huge fan.
The mattress is exceedingly comfortable: soft but also supportive. I like that flipping it provided a different softness level. Delivery company was terrific.
Had to find a bed as we sold our 12 year old Sleep Number set before moving 1100 miles. Lucked into a couple of barely used adjustable twin sized bases and the accompanying king headboard/frame at an estate sale - all I needed was the mattresses. Went with the Zenhaven Twin XL after much online research and in-store look-see. Glad it had the dual firmness option because I like the softer side and my wife needs the firm. Slept good from the first night with no break-in or adjustment period, and it conforms well to the adjustable base. A very satisfying purchase.
I now have three natural or organic latex mattresses from three different companies. They are all delightful. However, my Zenhaven mattress is the most comfortable and aesthetically beautiful mattress I've ever experienced. Thank you!
I ordered the zenhaven mattress and am thoroughly happy with my purchase. My husband and I love this mattress. It's so comfortable that I look forward to curling up in bed each night! The order and delivery was very easy. I ordered a second mattress for our guest bedroom.
I gave it 4 stars because it hasn't helped my shoulder pain. It HAS helped with my hips though, and I love the fact that I'm no longer sleeping on metal coils. I have it with the plush side up, but I don't foresee me flipping it to the other side. That was also a big selling point though, the ability to flip it. We've had a couple warm nights already here in the Northeast and I did not get hot from the mattress. Would definitely recommend!
Back has gotten worse since a few years ago I had torqued my back. Started a new job and had bad spasms and restless sleep due to a very poor bed and frame. Friend of mine recommended Saatva, and saw the latex bed. While a bit pricey, decided to get both the Zenhaven and the adjustable base. Glad I made the leap, the trial time put me at ease buying a bed online. After it finally arrived, no longer having to sleep comfortably on the floor, I slept like a baby. Haven't slept on my back on years, typically a side sleeper, with the adjustable base and the Zen, it is easy to fall asleep on the bed. No longer waking up in the middle of the night or having pain due to my bed being so poor. Glad I spent the money on the bed, best purchase I've made in years!
After tons of research, we settled on the zehaven. I was skeptical ordering on line without actually lying on the mattress but the return policy was generous and the reviews great. I am so glad I did. The most comfortable mattress I have ever owned. I have had it almost 1 year now. I just called today and ordered one for my son.
This mattress is a game changer. No more discomfort, no more soreness. It supports without any pressure points. Perfect! This is one of my all-time best purchases EVER.
Seriously, I have other organic latex mattresses, and this one is hands down the best. I had to layer the others myself and zip them into the mattress cover. It was cumbersome, and not something you can do by yourself. The edges are droopy. The mattresses are good, not great. But THIS mattress - omg. I love it. The ordering process was easy, they kept you informed, and they delivered it and set it up. Unlike the other ones, it's assembled at the factory and arrives like a regular mattress. The edges are not sloppy, and it's the most comfortable bed I have ever owned. You will not be disappointed. We have ours on the firm side. And, it can be folded in half, so getting it into a tight space isn't a problem
I used to have a firm latex mattress, and when I got the new Zenhaven it was quite a bit softer than my older mattress. I was worried by how my body would react. I've had the mattress for a few months now and so far, no problems at all. I love this mattress.
I absolutely love my zenhaven.
I was worried that it was going to be too firm, but it is perfect for me!
