Mattress and More is a mattress retailer that focuses on a wide range of products and pricepoints from expensive brands like Tempur-Pedic to more affordable options like Comfort Coil. Overall, customers like the initial feel on their mattresses, but some had issues when it came to durability. Others felt they could find something better somewhere else. We'll go through their offerings in depth below...
Mattress & More sells a variety of mattresses to shoppers, including both high priced and budget-friendly options. Although these offerings are similar to other mattress retailers across the country, there is a hidden truth:
These mattresses are often overpriced for the materials used.
This is because the materials used are marked up multiple times before you purchase them. They are marked up by the manufacturer, mattress brand, and lastly by the mattress retailer. This means:
You may find a better deal buying online, direct from the brand.
Part of the reason for this is that online mattress brands have a direct model, meaning they can focus more on the materials and craftsmanship of the mattress (and some even own their own factory). Also, online mattress brands are competing fiercely with one another, which means that they have sleep trials and generous refund policies by default.

Walked in after searching other stores and was greeted warmly by the employee's there. They were very knowledgeable about their products and helped me find the perfect queen sized mattress that suits my needs. After selecting the mattress, we filled out the paperwork, they even offer help to finance their mattresses. When it's all said and done, we picked a delivery date a few days down the road, and I went on my way. Delivery was quick and easy. I was called before delivery and they showed up when they said they would. The mattress was delivered and brought into my home (it was a very heavy mattress). I would easily recommend this business as they are very professional and easy to work with. They have a nice selection of mattresses with a variety of fair prices.
I just bought two nice pillows at a decent price. I was helped right away. It was funny; the sales guy had a bad case of the hiccups. He might not when you visit.
Just received our new Tempur-Pedic king mattress and adjustable base. We decided on the breeze with cooling technology. We have not slept on it yet but it is really comfortable. The purchase experience was exceptional. Jen and Jennifer, sales, were very knowledgeable about their products. The delivery was one day late and they even upgraded the base and included a cooling mattress cover even though it was stated the cool breeze did not need one. Guess I am old school, I just felt the need to put one on it! Delivery was within the time slot so we are happy buyers!
This was my first mattress buying experienced and I thought I was going to by from one of the online companies but my friend used to work here and said to check them out because they were loyal etc. I could not have had a worse experience. Stewart was the definition of a sleazy sales rep, no matter how many times I emphasized my budget constrictions he continued to take me to the most expensive models in the store. When it became obvious that I was not going to fall for that he basically ignored me. The only information he gave me about the mattresses was their firmness level, no other information about what they are made of and what makes them unique.
I went to the Mattress & More location on Shelbyville Rd in St. Matthews on Columbus day. When I first walked in and told the Assistant Manager Frank (only employee in the store) that I wanted the $498 deal. He had no idea what I was talking about. He called another store and they told him the mattress the ad was talking about. The mattress wasn't great so I inquired about another one. That is where the issues began. Frank had NO IDEA how to process an order. I sat there for over an hour with him calling multiple other stores to see how to process an order. He was getting more and more frustrated and didn't have a problem with vocalizing that. He had mentioned that he had only been an employee for a month and that the Manager had gone home sick. I understand things happen that you can't control but they should have NEVER left Frank alone in a store when he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. There were two other customers that had walked in after me and they of course walked out because the wait was ridiculous. At the end of finally being able to have the order processed, Frank asked if I really needed a receipt because he couldn't figure out how to print a receipt. I of course said, yes I really need a receipt. Thankfully a mattress isn't something you need to purchase often, because I will not be going back here. It is my first and last experience with Mattress & More.
This review is for an over the phone purchase / and delivery. I have no insight to what the actual store is like, just my overall review of dealing with the shipping company and Matress and More. First off i'd like to say initially everything went well till the delivery day. Feel the customer service just flushed down the toilet after they took my money. But at least ill be sleeping on a bed for once.
This was the second time I went to Mattress & More. The first bed lasted about fifteen years, a memory foam mattress, but this time we bought a 'hybrid' mattress. It's absolutely wonderful, and I really appreciated the way the salesman took the time to actually evaluate our needs and suggest what ended up the 'right' mattress. We tried out almost every mattress in the store and ended up going back to the Restonic! Delivery was fine, just a little later than I asked for, but they seem to have another company deliver these things, so I can see why the person in the other review was so upset. Still, Mattress & More is a fine company that I'll recommend to everyone. Thanks!
I went to Mattress and More to purchase a mattress after my sister recommended I do so. She had the best experience with no hassles or haggling. That was my fear of having to go in and haggle. Well, I didn't need to worry because Kevin Arnold was wonderful! He greeted me when I came in and immediately made me feel no pressure. He was very knowledgeable and very honest about price, quality, etc. I left very happy and will definitely recommend Kevin and Mattress and More to everyone! Thanks Kevin!
Had an amazing experience from start to finish getting our mattress. Jim was an great help! Cannot complain! Mattress is perfect!
This place is fantastic. We needed a "big girl bed" for our three year old but didn't want to spend a huge amount of money. Upon entering the store we were shown two mattress sets well within the price point I requested. No upsell, no run around, just "here are the two sets I think would work best for what you need." We let our daughter choose (she was thrilled) and planned to come back another day to pick them up (we have a truck). Jim had a split full box spring in stock and said a one piece was scheduled for delivery later that day. I took the split because it would be easier to manage but once I got home realized it wouldn't work with the frame I had. Jim graciously agreed to let me bring back the split box spring and trade it for the one piece. In all pleasant shopping experience. Their building is being sold and I hope they'll be able to find another location.
No one called us on the day of delivery. The store owner show up late to open the store. He told me that the delivery people would arrive in two hours. They did not show up, and then did not show up at a later time the same day. We had to reschedule the delivery for the following day. Then they were missing were missing part of the bed frame. Then arrived 2 hours late to finish the job. Fortunately my husband was watching when they assembled the bed frame. They tried to hide the fact that one of the support pieces was defective and could not be installed. The store owner and another staff member were beyond rude. Apparently I was rude, high maintenance and treating them like they were morons as well as other insults! (He did not apologize for the fact that the installers deliberately tried to hide a defect.) I checked complaints board and another person said that they had been verbally abusive.
I shopped at five different mattress stores before purchasing my Sealy Posturepedic at Mattress and More. Danny, at the Champion Farms Dr. location, was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out several features I was unaware of. He took the time to make certain I was getting exactly the right mattress to suit my needs. Danny earned my business. Thank you!
Stopped in today with the better half to start our mattress shopping process. We were in the market for a King bed and Mattress & More had a great selection of mattresses. They let us sleep on the mattresses to see how it would feel before buying. There was one associate working this afternoon, but he still did a great job of providing excellent customer service. They have plenty of mattresses to choose from and highly recommend checking this place out if in the market for a new mattress! We did not end up buying one today as this was our first stop in the mattress selection process, but were impressed with the selection from Mattress & More
Worst customer service! I strongly recommend you purchase your mattress at a different store. This place will do absolutely nothing for you if you are not satisfied with your purchase. No refund, no exchange.
My husband and I tried several mattresses stores in the area and no other store came close to price and service. Jason was so informative and helpful. Jason and Brian both continue to provide top level service for any questions or needs we have, even months after our purchase. We will never shop anywhere else for a mattress.
The worst Mattress store in Elizabethtown, doesn't care about customer service after the purchase. Remember you don't leave the store with the mattress. Mr. Snipp sale did not ended when I left the store. My mattress set smells and the Manager or Mattress and More don't return my calls. I am going to get American Express to put pressure and reverse the charges or take the store to court.
Know everything you need to know about mattresses before purchasing here. They do not explain that the adjustable part doesn't come with the bed even though they are displayed with it. And they also don't show the bed put together as tall as they will be. The bed and mattress we purchased is so tall I have to climb up the footboard to get on it. Worst experience with furniture sales I have ever had. And when I called they said we just assumed you knew. If we knew then why would we have tried out the adjustable bed and not said I don't want the adjustable part? Seriously!?
