While these objects can be useful, some may prefer highly ornamental items that elicit a certain feeling or personal connection.

On the other hand, mid-century modern style is very much a contemporary design movement as well. With its resurgence beginning in the mid 2000s, the contemporary mid-century modern movement has been one of the most popular with a resurgence of designs and art with contemporary flair. When it comes to accessories that match, there are many options: from Scandinavian and minimalist styles to glamorous modern accents. Also, slim or streamlined pieces of technology, like a sound system or wall-mounted TV also fit right at home.

Lastly, this is a free space to mix and match. Have a vintage record player? Marry it with contemporary speakers. A period clock? Maybe match it with a more contemporary, modern-designed lamp. With a balanced approach, how can you go wrong?
