Leesa

Leesa is a popular foam mattress company that makes its flagship Leesa mattress with three layers of foam -- one layer of LSA200™ cool foam, a memory foam layer, and a last support core layer. They also have two other mattresses, for those looking for superior support and comfort: their Leesa Hybrid and Leesa Legend. Their mattresses are well loved by many customers and they have a positive company mission, donating 1 out of 10 mattresses to non-profits who help the disadvantaged. As one of the first brands riding on the mattress-in-a-box wave, Leesa has made a big name with thousands of happy customers. Live in the UK? See our review for the UK version too.

Purple

Purple® mattresses are taking the industry by storm with their super lightweight polymer that is purple. It uses 'smart grid' technology to keep things cool and relieve joint and pressure point pain. Overall, they run a bit less firm than other memory foam mattresses and are rated in the medium firmness range, which is great for side sleepers. Some folks love the feel of this mattress, though there are others that prefer a more traditional feel.

Based on our aggregated reviews and our scoring method, we recommend Leesa in this match up!

Leesa's Owner Satisfaction

Leesa does a good job providing a universally comfortable mattress to sleepers with both their Leesa all-foam mattress and their Leesa Hybrid mattress. Customers respond well to their price value for the comfort they receive. The few lingering disagreements usually relate to some heat retention for very warm sleepers. That said, there are better rated mattresses than both the Leesa and the Purple mattress -- see our list of top rated mattresses for strong alternatives.

Leesa's Supportiveness

Having a supportive mattress is important to those of all body types. Even if you like mattresses that are not firm, a bed that gives you a healthy spine is what we're all looking for. These mattresses do well with support over much of the competition, while doing a great job at pressure point relief.

Edge Support
Over the years, edge support has been an important attribute in mattresses. These mattresses have a moderate amount of edge support, which means there is comfortable resistance on the sides of the mattress giving more sleeping area. Those that want more edge support, should check out the Leesa Hybrid.

Leesa's Durability

Customers agree that these mattresses are competitive when it comes to durability versus the competition. Having a durable mattress can mean years of comfortable nights. while one that fails quickly can mean endless back pain. These mattresses should stay comfortable for 7 - 12 years for most sleepers, which is good on average. Those folks that weigh more than average or use their mattresses more than once a day may experience slight decreases in longevity.

Purple's Owner Satisfaction

The Purple mattress offers a unique feel that most customers love, but there are some that disagreed. When it comes to pressure relief, the Purple Mattress is a great option and also customers really like the firmness options in the New Purple Mattress, but some found that the comfort was not worth the pricepoint of these mattresses versus others available. Take a look at our list of the top rated mattresses for those that customers say pass on more value.

Purple's Supportiveness

Having a supportive mattress is essential to getting the most out of your night's sleep. Overall, these mattresses are above average in terms of supporting sleepers. This is important if you don't have a supportive sleeping surface right now. Most reviewers report that these mattresses are supportive overall. Versus Leesa, the firmer New Purple Mattress will deliver more support.

Edge Support
Edge support is how much support there is on the sides of the mattress versus the middle. These mattresses offer a good amount of edge support overall, but some customers may experience more contouring along the edges in some models.

Purple's Durability

It's difficult to find products that last a long time these days. Brands, by and large, rather go after making good money than building something that lasts a lifetime. However, there are still good brands out there. These mattresses, specifically, do a great job with durability for most sleepers. Most folks will have them last between 7 - 12 years, though some folks who are larger may find they break down a short time before that.

Excellent - Jonah

I read and watched multiple reviews and was a little skeptical about if this mattress would be a good fit for me. I decided to give it a try, and am so happy with my decision. I have only been able to sleep on it a few nights, so I can't speak to long term satisfaction, but just the feel of the mattress is so unique and comfortable. Every time I pass by my bed now, I can't help but flop on it and lay there for a few minutes. If you are on the fence about trying the mattress, I would say go for it for sure. The only disadvantage that I've noticed so far is that it is near impossible to get out of bed in the morning. I was a few minutes late to work the last few mornings because I did not want to leave my bed. When I was reading all the reviews, I heard that purple fluffs up their review page to make their mattress look better. After trying this mattress, I do not believe that is true. I believe that people genuinely love the product and want to share it with other people. I am not typically one to go out of my way to write a review, but this product is incredible so I felt compelled to do so. Obviously everyone is different so you may not have the same experience I have had, but if you are on the fence and looking for a great mattress, give Purple a try.
