La Z Boy's Specifics

La-Z-Boy has three different mattress options to choose from -- the Essential, the Select, and the Lux. The main difference between these options are the foam comfort layers. While all three are hybrid mattresses featuring foam and pocket coils, the Select and the Lux include the addition of Energex foam, which is a moderately responsive foam that is both supportive and adaptive. We'll go through their mattress options below in-depth.

Quality of Materials

First, we'll go through The La-Z-Boy Essential Mattress:

Layer 1: The cover is treated with iClean™ stain-resistance, which repels moisture away from the surface of the mattress.

Layer 2: The second layer is a 1'' polyurethane foam layer that is soft to facilitate pressure point relief.

Layer 3: Beneath, there is a 2'' 'Cool Flow' visco foam layer, which offers a slow response memory foam feel that further relieves pressure points and tension.

Layer 4: 8'' thick individually wrapped coils react to the body's curves while supporting the spine. Additionally, they cut down on partner disturbance.

Layer 5: The last layer is another layer of poly foam, which provides base support and durability.

Secondly, we'll go through The La-Z-Boy Select Mattress:

Layer 1: Similar to the Essential mattress, the Select offering includes a stain-resistant cover that repels moisture and spills.

Layer 2: The second layer is 1'' of polyurethane foam that is pressure relieving and moderately responsive, adapting to the body.

Layer 3: The third layer is 1'' of Cool Flow visco foam, which further melts away pressure and works in conjunction with the firmer layers below to cradle to spine.

Layer 4: The last comfort layer is 1'' of Energex foam, which provides extra response for a slightly firmer feel for support of the spine.

Layer 5: 8'' of pocketed coils cradles the spine, while reacting independently to cut down on partner disturbance.

Layer 6: The last layer is another layer of poly foam, which acts as a base for the mattress and keeps the coils in place.

Lastly, we'll go through The La-Z-Boy Lux Mattress:

Layer 1: The Lux mattress also includes an iClean™ stain-resistant cover that prevents spills from turning into stains moisture.

Layer 2: The first layer of foam is 1'' of polyurethane foam that adapts to the body.

Layer 3: The second layer of foam is 1.5'' of Cool Flow visco foam with a copper layer which provides antimicrobial properties and facilitates cooling by dissipating heat.

Layer 4: The third comfort layer is 1'' of Energex foam, which is breathable and highly adaptiveproviding a slightly firmer feel.

Layer 5: 8'' of Elite Comfort pocketed coils that support the hip, backs and shoulders. The coils around the perimeter of the mattress are made with a heavier gauge, helping to provide edge support.

Layer 6: The final layer is another layer of poly foam, similar to that found in layer 2, which acts as a base for the mattress and keeps the coils in place.

Very surprised!

I honestly was skeptical, when this box was delivered to my house and I was thinking, how is there possibly a King size mattress rolled up inside of this?.. My family found it quite exciting getting it opened and watching it quickly expand! Our first night, my husband, thought it might be a little firm for his liking but by the 3rd night, he noticed he's having a more restful sleep with less waking up during the night. What I am happiest about, is I'm not waking up with my lower back hurting from feeling like I've been sleeping in a hole. We've had 3 different mattresses in the past 10 years and this is the best I've felt in the mornings, by far..This mattress has completely changed my thoughts on a foam bed.

Essential Queen Mattress

I have had the Essential Queen Mattress for about a month now and have been pleasantly surprised! I used to have a different bed from a well known retailer that my wife and I have hated for years. We'd wake up sore and stiff but since having this new mattress I sleep better and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go! I have bad back problems that have caused me to see a chiropractor bi-weekly but I haven't had to go once since receiving this mattress, it's been such a blessing! The only negative I have was that the box it came in was SOOOO heavy!! I would have liked to have had the option to have someone install it instead of just drop it off because it would have been impossible to do without help.
