Jamison has been in the mattress business since 1883. They have changed with the times and now offer two lines of mattresses - one innerspring and another memory foam. They often co-brand with other companies or hotels, like Mariott to sell the hotel feel to consumers. Overall, their mattresses are mid-priced, but there are some complaints about the mattress durability over the life of the bed.
Vispring, formerly Vi Spring or Vi-Spring, is a luxury bed founded in 1901 and operating in London, England. It offers luxury materials and a line of hybrids and innerspring mattresses with all natural ingredients such as horsetail, wool, alpaca, cashmere, and silk. They are generally sold through out luxury retailers throughout North America and Europe. For these reasons, this brand boasts high prices for mattresses, but dedicates itself to exclusivity.
Based on our aggregated reviews and our scoring method, we recommend Vi Spring in this match up!
If you are examining this brand, take a look below for more details about these mattresses. They, unfortunately, don't get the best reception from customers overall. Some customers were elated by their selection, but others felt let-down overall.
Some customers describe feeling good support in these mattresses, but some have had issues with support over the long term. For those that have tender backs already, do some added reading to make sure the mattress you buy fits you.
These mattresses have mixed reviews when it comes to edge support. Some folks have reported good amounts of comfort throughout the mattress, but others felt like there was unevenness.
Finding a mattress with long lasting comfort is awesome, but difficult. Sadly, sleepers don't rate these mattresses well when it comes to durability. This means that some folks may experience that their mattress lasts a decade, while other mattresses may only last a couple years. If you are heavier in body type, you may want to do extra looking before buying.
Customer reviews are a powerful resource for finding out if a product will match your needs. Sleepers have positive things to say about these mattresses and their comfort, but there are some that had mixed experiences. Look over the reviews and the mattress specifics below to see if these mattresses will work for your body.
These mattresses offer above average supportiveness, which is hopeful for those that are looking for something to align their spine at night. However, some folks have described feeling discomfort overall, so make sure to do some extra research on the firmness and whether it will work on your body.
Edge support is an indicator of how supportive the sides of the mattress are versus the center. These mattresses do well here, but heavier folks may experience some contouring.
Finding a mattress that is highly durable can save you loads of money. But as companies compete for profits, everything from clothes to mattresses wears out faster. These mattresses have mixed reviews when it comes to durability. Mattresses really affect people's bodies in different ways and some folks felt great about comfort long term, but others were not as sure. Make sure to read some of the customer reviews before purchasing.
I had visited a store and was looking at buying the Resort Hotel Collection The Pinnacle or the English Garden Collection Wisteria, they both seemed very comfortable but so does a lot of mattress at first. I have had an Original Mattress factory 100% latex bed and a Kingsdown bed and they both were terrible, had body impressions and cause back pain.View More Reviews
Purchased a queen size Jamison Mattress and was told the mattress was warranted twenty years. Mattress began to fail after four years. Contacted the merchant and was assured the mattress was under warranty and a District Rep would be notified. Took four calls to report on Rep had contacted me. Later received a packet requesting pictures with a certain type camera, a string with two washers to attach to the string; lay it across the bed and take pictures. Ridiculous request and Jamison had to be aware of the inane request to validate my complaint. This company falsely warranties their product and deliberately requires an unreasonable request from the consumer. Will never purchase again. This company should be ashamed for failing to deliver any satisfaction on such an expensive investment.
In November 2013, I purchased a full size mattress set from E. F. Brannon in Hixson, TN for $1,000.00. My spine doctor suggested I purchase a firm coil spring mattress for my spine which this Jamison is. I have had bad experience with this mattress. I bought one that you can both turn and/or flip which I have been doing every 6 weeks since I purchased it but all this has not helped. I sleep alone in it and weigh 168. It wasn't long after I purchased that it began to dip where I slept. Recently I can feel a spring with my hip.
After one month the mattress began to develop indentations of our bodies, then it started squeaking. Now in the second month the squeaking is on every movement and the indentations are bothersome.
I read the other reviews and found they were customer service issues and not mfg. problems. I sold mattresses for four years so consider myself knowledgeable. I am very pleased with my Jamison bed. I got it after I had problems with another brand. Sleep King, the store I purchased from, allowed me to use my full warranty credit toward any bed I liked. The salesperson told me upfront that ALL manufacturers will void the warranty if the mattress is stained and gave me a mattress protector pad at no charge. I weigh 182 and she 140. Very comfortable bed!! No problems like I had with other major brand.
I wanted an american made mattress. I found Jamison. Loved the mattress the 1st month we had it. Then it started to get indentions of where we sleep. Within 3 months, the indentions were horrible. You can not flip this mattress, just turn it around. So that really did not help! We called within a year for someone to come look at it. Well I have a pillow top and the way they measure indentions is with a string with weights on each end. If the indentions does not measure an inch then nothing is wrong. But they fail to see that the pillow top gets a little air in it each time you get up. So the measurement is not accurate. I paid $1500.00, it is only 2 years old and will have to replace very soon. This mattress is horrible. My box spring is also broken in one of the corners. If I would get them to come look at the bed again it would cost me $65.00. There is no point because of the pillow top.
TLC Talalay Latex Collection (Cloudwing) bed and box springs - It has not been a year since I bought the bed and box spring. I purchased the bed from Story and Lee, Furniture and Appliance, Leoma, TN. I was annoyed with a strange noise coming from the box spring that wakes me up all the time. I was cleaning and my daughter and I lifted the mattress and box spring and there are no springs in the box. The top of the box is cardboard, and the 1x2 wood slats inside this box are split, crooked, and the wood slats are not square from top to bottom. The slats are crooked and were not cut evenly. The paper fabric covering the bottom was torn and not all fastened with staples. I have never seen such cheap workmanship. I paid over $1,500 for the bed. I telephoned Story and Lee and was told the new beds are coming in with springs in the box spring instead of wood slats and a cardboard top. I can't believe that Jamison is guilty of such cheap workmanship. I will have to pay $250.00 for the new box spring. I wonder if these beds are made in the USA or abroad. The quality in the products we purchase now are so cheap and poorly made!
I purchased a Jamison queen mattress and foundation set less than a year ago. Every time I move or my husband turns over, the whole bed shakes! I cannot sleep on this bed! Their advertisement says it wont do this. I am so disappointed in this bed!! will never buy another Jamison bed!
My overall experience would be one big fat '0'. I purchased a Jamison mattress and it sagged in less than a month. It was replaced by the factory only after I had to go through a lot of problems of taking pictures of it in with strings hanging across it plus the slats. At 83, I had to move this thing by myself. They replaced it and now it is sagging again. I purchased a new mattress because my old one was hurting my hip. Now I am having the same problem. This is the worse experience I have had in my lifetime of purchasing a mattress.
We spent $2300 for a mattress that ended up with dips in 3 years. Supposedly it has a 10 year warranty. Reviews indicate Jamison is a good mattress. I would wake up every morning with a back ache and neck ache. My shoulders and hips would hurt. Sleeping on concrete would have more comfortable. So I bought a mattress topper from 'My Pillow'. The aches and pains are gone now. My husband didn't have many complaints except for the dip in the mattress. The mattress itself is so heavy, you cannot turn it over or move it around unless you have 5 men with strong backs to move it. I would not recommend this mattress to anyone.
Not quite such a good quality as the one it replaced but still fineView More Reviews
Really disappointed with this mattress and the level of customer care received. We initially noted a strong 'sheepy' odour coming from our newly acquired Vi Spring mattress which permeated our bedroom. We complained to JL who told us to air it. We stripped the mattress and aired the sheets each day for nearly a month but no difference to the smell was made. JL then replaced the mattress but the replacement is only marginally better than the original. Again, we aired it every day for the best part of a month, but the smell still persists. Vi Spring then sent an assessor out to look at the mattress, which is apparently not faulty. We have complained to JL again and are now awaiting another assessor. I get the distinct impression we are just being fobbed off and have ultimately made a very expensive and rather smelly mistake. :(
After visiting the store first I thought I had picked the ideal mattress for us. I couldn't see it on line but thought I was choosing a better one. It is comfortable and we sleep well on it but are concerned it's not firm round the edges. When you sit on the bed the rim collapses right down and does not feel like something a quality bed should do.
I am delighted with this mattress, quite delighted – easily the most comfortable bed I've ever owned. I have an old solid-base bed, not a divan, and I wanted a mattress that wasn't as deep as most typical, cheaper High St mattresses (this is only 21cm); I also prefer the well-ventilated, pocket sprung types as they are much cooler than memory foam mattresses, even the best. This fits the bill perfectly...and the bed! It's probably even better with a divan base.
Everything about this product spells quality and I think it's worth paying the higher price. I'm getting on in years a bit now with a tendency to backache – especially if I lie on my back – but the first night with this Vispring, I slept most of the night on my back without even a twinge the next day.
I've not had this long enough to comment on its long-term durability but the Lifetime Guarantee speaks volumes. Very highly recommended.
This mattress is utterly gorgeous. Have never slept so well. Highly recommended.
I bought this because it's Vispring and they have such an excellent reputation. I took a huge chance, and a plunge, buying it online without even trying it. But I had been doing a lot of prior research into mattresses. It is as the name says a Superb Mattress. More expensive than others but it's so comfortable and beautiful quality. You really do get what you pay for!
We just moved house and I bought this mattress for my two year old son's bed. It is extremely comfortable even when an adult has slept on it. My husband kind of wishes we bought this model for ourselves too.
This is the second VI Spring mattress I've had this problem with. I've had it over 6 weeks and if anything the smell is getting worse. I was told to air it , which I've tried to do (but I also need to sleep on it) , and don't think it's acceptable to deliver it to my home to do the airing., it should be fit for use when delivered. There is horsehair in the filling , and that's what it smells like , farmyard of some sort. It smells the whole room.
We were replacing a previous Vi-Spring, after 10 years or so. It was good to have an informative, but not pushy, salesman to guide us through what was available, and to have time to try out several. No criticisms.
We bought this mattress because of the quality craftsmanship Vispring offers, and the feel of it in store was quite comfortable and less springy than some other models. However, when we first slept on it, we wondered if they had given us the firm tension instead of the medium on accident. We checked the tag on the mattress and it was in fact medium. I have given four stars as we are happy with the mattress overall, and it is much much better quality than our old one. I suppose maybe it needs some breaking in before it feels like the one in store. However we will be purchasing a mattress topper anyways as we prefer a softer 'cloud' feel.
Spent some time researching mattresses and had some questions which Vi Spring were happy to answer - they were transparent about their product. The mattress has a different feel to our old one - not such a 'springy' feel, but we have slept really well since we purchased it. We are very happy with the product.
We are delighted with the comfort offered by this mattress. It gives plenty of support to the back and ensures a good night's sleep.
