Craftmatic, made famous by their long-running TV commercials and infomercials, is the maker of adjustable beds (both mattresses and bases). Their business started in 1974 marketing adjustable bases and expanded to offer both mattresses and multiple lines of adjustable bases. They offer a selection of mattresses from memory foam to traditional innerspring and hybrid mattresses to go along with their adjustable bases. Their bases can be adjusted straight from a wireless remote control and they also offer a selection of additional ammenities on some of their beds, such as USB and power ports.
Hästens is an ultra-luxury brand of mattress that is hand-crafted in Sweden and sticks to the basics of high end natural materials and crafstmanship. The materials used in a Hästens mattress include horsehair, wool, cotton, and other natural materials without the use of latex or memory foam. Customers report feeling invigorated by this mattress, but there were some durability concerns about the top layer -- which can be independently replaced for a fee.

Reading customer reviews is a powerful way to spot the right mattresses for you. Customers review these mattresses highly, but some didn't like the feel as much. The below has more information on the mattress and a selection of reviews -- read on!
These mattresses are good with support overall. Though the rare sleeper reports that these mattresses aren't the proper firmness for them, most reviewers like the amount of support these mattresses possess.
Edge support is important for those that need extra time getting out of bed or like to lie close to the side of the mattress. These mattresses have good edge support and they should fit the needs of most folks.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
Bowling balls are a good way at measuring mattress support and firmness These mattresses are above average at providing even support, which means they should work with your body to align the spine properly.
Good comfort that lasts for a decade plus is one of the most important factors for mattress shoppers. Though there are some reasons, like a changing body, that would mean we should update our mattress sooner than 15 years, we could all sleep easier if it was a guarantee our mattress would last that long. These mattresses, specifically, are competitive when it comes to durability. Most customers will find they last over 7 years, but some have reported not loving the overall feel. If you are a bigger than average person, review the mattress specs before buying.
There have been assorted feedback from customers on these mattresses -- both good and bad. Many folks describe feeling comfortable on their new mattresses and sleeping better than before, but there were others that didn't share the good feelings. Make sure to read more below to make sure one of these mattresses will work for your body.
Stomach and back sleepers need tons of support from their mattresses. Also, deeper support that keeps the spine aligned with the rest of the body is an essential trait for side sleepers. These mattresses provide sleepers with above average supportiveness. However, others had problems with the support so if you have a heavy build, make sure your choice aligns with your body.
Most agree with the edge support of these mattresses. Some folks may experience some sagging when sitting or laying close to the edge.
Mattresses don't provide as long-lived comfort as they used to. Finding a bed that lasts over 15 years is definitely not easy these days. That said, finding a long-lasting mattress can mean hundreds of dollars in your pocket. These mattresses get mixed feelings on durability. Many sleepers don't report issues, but others have complaints about durability over a shorter time frame than usual.
The service at Craftmatic is superb. I was treated from the moment I called the number on TV. The bed was delivered and I have been able to watch TV and knit in bed as my husband sleeps. No complaints here!View More Reviews
The mattress is too hot to my liking. Started sweating through the bed at night. I'll have to look for an alternative to the mattress. But, being able to put my feet up at night is well worth the money. So, all in all 4 stars.
The service at Craftmatic has been great. The sales rep did an excellent job explaining the bed to us and we purchased it for its comfort and ease. I like using the Craftmatic's vibrating massage feature.
I like Craftmatic's mattress and that I can adjust the bed to the position I like best. The bed has a massage feature and it sometimes helps. It was wonderful dealing with their reps. They were very nice and helpful in helping us make a decision and we've been well-pleased. It's been a little over a year and I would definitely recommend this bed to a friend with the experience we've had.
We needed to get a bed that will split in the middle so I could raise the head, while her side wouldn't need to go anywhere. With the Craftmatic, the availability to raise the head on one side and not the other, vice versa, works great.
We got the twin double bed from Craftmatic. The person that I've bought them for experience a lot of cramping in their legs and back, and they haven't had those since they've gotten the bed. I enjoy being able to elevate the head and feet as well - it's comfortable. Everything went very easily, and it was a very good experience.
I had my old bed for 5 years before I bought my Craftmatic. Craftmatic's mattress is comfortable and I enjoy it the most. I had a very good experience with the sales rep and would recommend them.
The Craftmatic sales reps got me what I needed for the price I was willing to pay. They're the only company that has a Dual Queen, and I don't have enough room for a king size bed. Also, I like the bed's ability to raise both the head and the feet part. The experience was what I expected it to be.
Watching commercials on TV and talking to other people made us decide to get a Craftmatic Adjustable bed. I had a great experience with their sales rep. What I like about Craftmatic is that I can reposition depending on what might be hurting. I can also choose between the hard side and the soft side.
Craftmatic's availability and customer service made us purchase a bed from them for my mother. She enjoys being able to put the bed in a different position for her different ailments and being able to utilize it to help her get in and out of the bed and get in a comfortable position. I had an excellent experience with their sales rep. It was a pleasure doing business with them. They have a great product, follow-up and customer care.
I didn't like the delivery driver because they weren't very professional when they were delivering the adjustable bed. I am in my eighties and it takes me a while to remember things. They had been knocking on the door and I hadn't heard them. When I let them in, they were very rude to me so I thought I must write something about this. Craftmatic apologized, but it left a bad feeling.
Craftmatic is a 5-star company with customer service and quality of merchandise. I love the bed's massage feature for it helps me relax and feel better. Their staff is wonderful, caring, kind and they did their jobs right away. It was a great experience with them.
If you are elderly or ill, you are the perfect prey for this crooked company. I cannot say anything about the mattress as we never did receive it. My review is solely about the customer service and lack of sympathy. They have no problem taking $760 from a person that was hospitalized and died before scheduling a delivery. In fact, accounting told me that this happens all the time, people are too ill or pass away and they take their $. In addition to this, being very rude and condescending on the phone. The mattress may work great, but good luck with customer service after they have your money.
The movers lost the remote to my elderly mothers bed. I called the service dept. who told me the cost of a new one is $150. This is outrageous when they pay only a few dollars for this piece.
My parents purchased a Craftmatic bed directly from Craftmatic. The bed was delivered by and [incorrectly] installed by a company called "Pilot". Twice, Pilot have come out to my parent's home and both times with no positive results. A third appointment was scheduled, however, there was an excuse made and the technician was a "no show". Pilot made the excuse that there was an error in the system and that there was no technician available to correct the problems with the ...original install. Incidentally, there was no attempt by Pilot to contact my parents to let them know that a technician was not coming. It was not until a call was made to Pilot to find out what was going on, that they discovered the problem with the installer.
Hello I'm sorry to say but the craftmatic bed customer service is not all it is cut out to be. I call to get my bed fix and they wanted me to pay them to come out to look at it to see what's wrong with it before they would charge me to fix it. Then the remote wouldn't work then I have to pay for the remote which it wouldn't work because the bed is broken> So I have to rig the back of the bed to fix the hed up so i can sit up in the bed to work on my computer and watch tv. Two... years ago i fell out of the bed cut my eye and my husband had to call 911 to take me to the ER to fix my eye and do a Cat Scan to make sure i didn't have any injuries. This is because i couldn't afford a bed and i couldn't get if fix and it sags in the middle of the bed. So the bed is inadequate and so is customer service which take forever to call back so today I went and got me another bed and it sure wasn't craftmatic.and never again will i get a craftmatic because this one should last me i hope until i die because i am at that age.
bought a bed and got the white glove delivery. I was told they would move my old bed and put it in another room. Also they would set the bed up and then show us how to work it. They would not move the bed, they said they would be responsible for any damage if they marked up the floors or walls. They had never put a bed together before I guess because they took a long reading the instructions. My husband could have done what they did in half the time.My daughter and son-in-law had to move the old bed before they would bring the other in. could have saved the $250.00.Be aware never pay for white glove service, it is a joke. Not happy with delivery at all, rip off.
its been weeks and I am still waiting. My disabled friend has been sleeping in a chair. Shameful.
Craftmatic beds is full of crappie! My mom bed has a LIFETIME WARRANTY and they refuse to come out and atleast see what is wrong with her bed. She has always had a Craftmatic this one since 2014.....lady said it will cost $75 for the guy to come then $175 for a part for the bed plus $25 for shipping the part. I then asked Mrs EllenYoug may I speak to your supervisor? She 1st said no one is available...I was put on hold for 10 mins....hello! May I speak with your supervisor? Now im pissed...they transferred & transferred me to Wilma then Stephen 4 times before they realized I wasn't hanging up the last transfer I was HUNG UP ON! WTHECK!!! NOW I'M WRITING TO EVERYONE ON THEIR BOARD!!! Then we're going somewhere else where the service is better!
Ordered a bed payed a lot of money and it didn't show up
Never use Craftmatic.....cheats, liars, and piss poor customer service
Our craft matic was supposed to be delivered today. Well we got the mattresses and that was it. Not happy right now.
The very worse product on the market. Very poor quality. Customer service is not available. They only respond to e-mails and then they might call you but issues remain unresolved. The majority of their repair / customer service is based out of their own homes and do not respond to any trouble issues. This company is basically a "grab your money and run" and make it impossible to speak with anyone that can or will help resolve any issues.
Love your service. Email follow ups and answers and the phone message they day you promised. The message even gave me the carriers name. SO IMPRESSED!
ripped off my Elderly Aunt & Uncle! Delivered them the wrong bed and then never brought correct bed!
Wouldn't recommend this product. Have had one for many years with a lifetime warranty... Now it is broke and of course the people who own it now say they will only sell me a part, no warranty. Even the lady helping me said she would not recommend and adjustable bed, just buy the flat one. Said they are about $3000 dollars for a twin. Now why would anyone working for an adjustable bed company say that???? You figure it out. Probably years ago Craftmatic was a reputable company, but as she said, we bought the name and have nothing to do with the original Craftmatic. Think before you buy.
We just got our beds and everything promised was done. My wife and I are sleeping like babies. As far as we are concerned it is one great product!!! Thank you Craftmatic
thankyou for great service on delivery and customer service when contacted no worries on bed qualityand service Techs who took down old bed and installed bed top stuff thanks, ill let you know how it improves sleep after testing tonight:)cheers~!
Craftmatic....Just another rip off scam... i am stopping my payments and calling fair trading and current affairs, I have had enough of being jerked around by companies that think disabled means we will not fight back.
Why don't you folks back up your beds your service personal don't help and it's a big run around we paid $7000.0 for two beds that stopped working a few months later my elderly mother in law can hear you totally have taken advantage of her prove me wrong fix her beds!!!
6 months plus of a bed that doesnt work and customer service who wont answer your phone calls unless you block your number! Would not recommend to ANYONE!
Not a very good bed. I got an upgraded mattress and it is still not a good or comfortable mattress. 2 months after I bought, the remote control quit working and when I contacted craftmatic they said to call a reapairshop!!!! I recommend going with another company that care about their customers and stand behind their products!
I ordered the bed, but did no get one I thought I ordered. I started calling the day it was delivered. Never could get anybody to help me. They would promise a call back, never called back. I have never had a company give me the run around as this company has. Even the the people that delivered it did a poor job, will never order from this company again. Was an expensive lesson
Received bed, deliverers could not assemble it, and the legs were missing. I called Craftmatic..legs would be sent, call them when I received them. Took 6 days for legs to get here (I would have thought they would have sent them Priority, and shipped overnite..NO), They gave me a number to call for Technician to assemble. I called, I was told they would get back to me....they never called. I called a second time, same thing, they never called back. In the meantime I am without a bed for 2 weeks...couldn't get someone to assemble it. I finally called and told them to come get it, as I was fed up with the whole thing, and just wanted to get rid of it. I will never recommend Craftmatic to anyone after going thru all the phone calls and not getting anywhere.
When I ordered my Legacy - to replace 5 year-old regular twin bed - the saleslady was great. Found one on sale that was never claimed and they gave me the same price as the one reclaimed. It was President's Day sale and the bed was set aside for me, somewhere in Chicago. I am in Central NY. This was in March. I thought the bed would be delivered within 2 weeks; credit card purchase but it wasn't put on my card until much later, when they finally gave me a delivery. Well, no one told me that they couldn't deliver any furniture in NY due to COVID-19. They could have told me this or mailed me or emailed me a long time before this. I kept getting the runaround. Finally i May, they gave me a delivery date, but I said I won't pay my Visa charge until the bed was in my house. They did deliver it but I had to wait until a technician was available to set it up. I was told they would remove my old bed. I found out that wasn't true, but luckily I had given it away to someone in need. Finally got two technicians to set up the bed. A few weeks later, I found that the mattress kept moving and should have been anchored to the under-mattress (I'll call it a box spring for now, but it wasn't technically a box spring). I called the company service number to have a technician come with whatever parts were needed to anchor the bed. That was almost three weeks ago. I've called a few times to check on my request, but get voicemail to leave my info. Also, in looking through the owner's manual, there is a holder for the remote that we never received. So the bed is fine (or I wouldn't have bought a second one) but service is terrible. They have all my info and do not return calls or give any indication when my issue will be corrected. I realize we are in a pandemic situation, but they could tell me this might affect a service call, instead of leaving me hanging all these weeks.
My elderly mother purchased a $2000 craft magic bed. She was promised take away and quick delivery. She had to chase them down to get it delivered with upteen excuses from them. It finally came but only the base, then she had to chase down installer and mattress. They didn’t even take to her room but left it inside front door. I’d expect with a $190 delivery fee and the promise to set it up that they would have followed through. Then they broke promise and left us with old mattress and box spring to discard. I will never do business with them again. Not worth the $2000 plus she paid for it. Service was dispicable. Luckily she had us to help her but no way she could have managed it alone with her age.
I have been a Craftmatic owner for over 20 years and am well pleased with it. My problem is with the internet sales people I had extensive tree damage from a storm, insurance agreed to replace my Craftmatic mattresses. I called Pompano Beach, Fl and got a lady named Cheryl Palmer. She gave me the price of $3531.00 for two mattresses. I told her I didn't think insurance would pay that. Whereupon she asked if I would allow her to speak with the ins adjuster directly. I told her that was fine with me. I gave her the Phone # and claim # of my policy. She called the adjuster and he agreed to pay for the mattresses. At no point did I say I wanted the mattresses nor give anybody permission to order them. I left three different messages for Cheryl and received not a peep from her. I like Craftmatic products, but some sales associates need training in procedure by letting the customer say yes or no. Too much high pressure and won't return phone calls are my complaints.
We worked with Barbro Sjötun at Hastens Soho and could not have had a better experience. Over the span of many visits, Barbro patiently took time to walk us through our many options. In addition to being an expert on Hastens and their amazing product line, she also seems to be an expert on sleep and had many insights that she was generous enough to share with us. Once we were ready to make the purchase, she was very responsive (even over weekends) - we could not be any happier with the service we were provided as well as the final product.View More Reviews
We worked with Saroya Garcia and had a wonderful experience! She was knowledgeable, not pushy and extremely accommodating. She spent the time to help us understand the company, our options and find the best bed for us. She was responsive to our emails and even held the store open late one Friday night when we couldn't get out of work in time to get there before closing! We couldn't be happier with our Hastens bed and had a wonderful experience working with Soy!
Barbro is a mattress expert in addition to being just a genuinely nice and interesting person to talk to. She is familiar with all high end mattress brands and I've learned a lot from her. After owning my Hastens 2000T for 5 years I am back to buy another one for my weekend home.
I have been shopping for mattress for a while. A friend recommended Hastens. Boy, it was the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. Although I ended up with bedding materials not mattress, I was very impressed by Barbro's professionalism and her knowledge in this prestige product line. Thank you Barbro for your help today.
After being discouraged by an unpleasant salesperson at the Upper East Side location. I ventured to the SoHo location where the salespeople were much friendlier. I ordered a very high end mattress in which I have waited three months to receive. After communicating with the team and having the date changed multiple time (by them) we settled on a date and time. That date came and they tried to deliver well before the delivery window. I made sure to accommodate this and did everything I could to make things run smoothing including co-ordinating alternate elevator use with the delivery. After everything was in the apartment and the movers had left I realized that the mattress that was delivered was not what I had ordered. Immediately contacting the company, who were confused, I was treated as though it was an error on my behalf. Rather than the concern of making sure i had the mattress that I had ordered three months ago the issues was the incorrect mattress and soon soon they could pick it up. When I asked about when I can expect mine (as it was scheduled for today) the response I received was, "I don't know". After a number of calls back and forth it was decided that the incorrect mattress would be picked up and the correct delivered at the same time. Then another phone call- the mattress is scheduled to be picked up but still no idea when my mattress that was ordered three months ago and had scheduled for delivery today would be arriving as they can't swap them on the same day. At the end of the day I'm still waiting on my mattress and I was treated with a bad attitude by all of the staff who didn't take any responsibility for their mistake. This isn't the high-end customer service you would expect from a high end store. Very disappointed.
This is a review for treatment in their union square/flatiron location. Dean an elderly white stuffy male seemed incredibly uncomfortable that he had to help me (a brown skin woman). He called my son a she because he is completely ignorant about the Sikh faith. I wish I was not so angered by this experience but it's very hard to give someone so visibly racist the benefit of the doubt.
Worst value ever! $15,000 for a mattress that becomes hard as a rock. And their warranty is a total scam. When you call to complain, They send so-called technicians over who just turn a few buttons and then tell you that you may have a problem when they can't improve it. Then they lie to their supervisor on the report. Unbelievable. Stay away!
Wow, the men working here ? superb,They were able to help me have bedding shipping out to California by the time I get back. The natural materials are a big selling point. And to rest on it feels like being in a supportive vat of whipped cream pure luxury.
I bought my Hastens bed 8 years ago and I still look forward to sleeping on it every single night. The customer service is polite, friendly, and helpful. I recommend you take the time to test each bed out properly to make sure you're making the right choice. It makes you think seriously about what position you sleep in. They give you ample time to try everything, and will even give you a blanket and turn down the showroom lights. After all, it is a hefty investment. Also, they aren't kidding when they say you have to religiously flip the mattress during the first year or so to make sure it settles evenly. My salesperson would call me when it was time to flip it again. Now that is customer service!! Follow their advice, and you'll be the proud owner of a solid and comfortable mattress 8 years on.
Despite the high price, Haastens has not bothered to resolve the issue with the mattress topper. There is too little stiching and, as a result, if two people sleep in the bed, the result is a large lump in the middle -- where the stuffing has shifted. When I went back and asked about this issue, I was told to walk on the topper. This is a ridiculous solution. Their sheets also shrink with normal washing. Definitely not worth the money.
After spending so much on a mattress I would expect it to be comfortable for many years. I have clear indentations on the bed, and asked customer service to help remedy the issue. They came over and told me a needed a new topper for $3200, and then it would be fixed. I bought the topper and 2 months later, the issue was not resolved. Customer service came back over to evaluate and told me to walk on the mattress to even it out. Definitely not worth purchasing to go thru all this trouble. Also, they said the $3k topper would remedy,w which it had no effect except ripping e off yet again.
We purchased a bed from Hastens about a year ago and could not be more dissatisfied. We've attempted just about everything to make the bed more comfortable (taking the topper off, putting on a wool mattress pad, cotton pad...). The bed is NOT worth the price and the horse hair toppers are just plain uncomfortable for everyday use (in the store they will feel great). My suggestion is to look elsewhere. Also, the bed weighs a ton, they'll tell you to flip and rotate it every few months, plan on getting a few people to help.
I originally bought three Hasten beds ($10,000+) for my home including a split king mattress/box-spring combo. Throughout the sales process, I was never warned of the issue of having a split king. The crack between the two mattresses has become a huge issue. In fact, they assured me that the crack was not an issue because of the pillow top that accompanied the bed. After contacting customer service for suggestions or for an appropriate remedy, what I expected was perhaps an offer to receive an additional mattress pad ($200) to help alleviate the feel of the crack. What I got was a "too bad for you" response. This to me, is unacceptable at these prices. Their customer service should be much better than this. If you buy one, better hope you do not ever have an issue with the bed.
I never thought about beds as an investment until I came here. The store is beautiful and staff super friendly. They even have their own parking lot which is rare in West Hollywood. A little bit about the actual experience.....I felt very little pressure to buy a bed. The associates were more than helpful in answering any questions that I had and the only thing they really wanted from me was to lie down and take a nap for 10-15 minutes. The product sells itself!!! The owner even invited me to come over and take a nap for a few hours (towards closing time). He didn't want to sell me a bed unless I really experienced it and enjoyed it. I had probably come into the store a half a dozen times by now. Each time I walked out empty handed. But every time I went in, they treated me as they would a new customer. Unlike other Hastens stores I have been to, this location also has a customer service team to visit local customers every 3 or 4 months to make sure the bed is working great and to massage the bed. They do require a little maintenance every now and then but it goes a long ways. A great product, awesome manufacturer warranty and superior customer service. I had to take the plunge.....What was I waiting for??? Long story short....I closed the deal and couldn't be happier!
The best bed in the world. Prices will range from 9000 all the way to 150,000. Yes. Dollars. Our salesperson (Peter) was professional but also friendly and just there to help you pick the best bed. We are happy with our Luxuria bed purchase and can't wait for it to arrive at our home.
First things first...if any company needs to see an example of outstanding customer service, look no further than the management and administration of Hastens on Beverly Blvd. My wife and I walked in to Hastens for the first time and were treated with the utmost respect and service. We ended up not only buying a mattress, but we also threw in some pillows, a mattress cover, and a comforter. Linus and Anna took excellent care of us. Just recently I also met Andre who was another absolute pleasure to speak to. One of the perks of Hastens is that you can choose a custom size bed. So my wife chose a slightly larger one. It turned out that standard sized sheets wouldn't fit our bed. So we called Hastens for help. Linus found us custom sheets and had them shipped to our home. The sheets fit perfectly. They are also very soft and strong. They have lasted very nicely. These beds are made with all natural "ingredients." So they don't harbor allergens like other beds. The beds are all handmade. The quality is so great that you never need to buy another bed again. They offer a 25 year warranty. And even offer a service to come out and flip and fluff your bed twice a year, for free. We have had our bed for 4 years now and it still feels like the first day. No pains. Sound sleeps. Sometimes, it's actually too comfortable. My wife can't keep her eyes open for more than 5 minutes after she enters the bed so we can never get through any movie together. So in conclusion, you invest once, and never really need to again, and on top of it you get service fit for kings for the rest of your life. You basically never have to worry about your bed. Someone is always watching out for you to make sure your purchase lasts and lasts.
I came to Hastens West Hollywood today to browse their selection of Swedish mattresses. The location of this Hastens is very central. It's on Beverly Blvd and Robertson. Beverly Blvd is lined with many high-end, hip furniture stores, so I wasn't expecting Hastens to stand out in my mind when compared to all the other stores. But surprisingly enough, I really enjoyed my experience at Hastens on Beverly! I found the owner to be down to earth, knowledgable and friendly. I liked how he really believes in his product and that he himself owns several Hastens beds due to the sheer quality and ergonomic support that each mattress provides. I liked how the store had a selection of all the different beds, from the very beautiful black fabric "Vividus" bed, which is thought to be the world's "most exclusive bed," to cute peach and white checkered twin beds for the children. My favorite? The country-quaint green and white checkered mattress at the far back left corner of the store. So cute!! So Spring!! The store itself looks very "Swedish." Light wood colored floors and most beds in the characteristic Hastens blue and white checkered cloth. I like the metal lift in the store for handicapped customers. I also like the ample free parking in the store front for customers as well! The silver/stainless steel accents are also a nice touch to the store's modern look. Hastens on Beverly is a really great place to shop! I was hoping to catch a glimpse of one of the celebrities that bought from this Hastens, but no such luck today!
This store would be a great place to hang out and read the paper because the beds are so comfortable. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and not pushy at all. Sverige är fantastiskt!
I would absolutely not recommend this company due to their poor customer service and being sold to on terms that they cannot fulfil. We placed the order with them based on their promises, but they have reneged - and all this is in the terms and conditions according to an email we have received from them, so there is nothing that we can about it. Communication is appalling. For a company that prides itself on sleep, they do not care about making life additionally stressful.
