We sleep often and hard at our house. Our king size mattress from Christeli was so much better than our previous bed in a box. Shipping was fast and pricing was where it should be.
Ordered a Queen Mattress Madeline 12.5 for my Motorhome. I ordered on line and it was easy and fast. The mattress showed up to my house quickly and we put the new mattress in the motorhome. Only took a couple minutes to set up. Super easy! We love the comfort of the memory foam mattress! Very satisfied with purchase!
After much research into the foam and traditional mattresses with regard to the product profile and customer satisfaction promises, we tested several name brand foam and coil support mattresses and decided the foam was more to our liking. Going forward, we looked online for comparable products and were impressed with the Christeli product comparisons and customer reviews. So, we decided to "pull the trigger" on the Christeli mattresses. Initially, we ordered the Madeline and it was WONDERFUL for me, the wife, but my husband found it a little too firm. We called Christeli and they suggested the Danieli and would be happy to make the exchange. We ordered the Danieli and decided to keep the Madeline as an upgrade to our main house guest room. Guests say it is a fantastic bed. We have now have slept on the Danieli mattress for 9 months - this mattress has proven to be a wonderful fit for us BOTH. Needless to say, we have been exceptionally pleased with our purchases! So much so, we ordered a third mattress, the Madeline, for our guest cottage. If you're thinking of considering Christeli products, GO FOR IT! You will not be disappointed! The products are fantastic and the customer service, stellar! Thank you, Christeli!
The Christeli website says, "we pinky promise that once you climb into a Christeli mattress, no other bed will come CLOSE to the level of comfort we deliver with each and every mattress we create." FALSE. The Christeli Charleston mattress came highly recommended from two other family members. It was expensive, but we decided good sleep was worth it so we sucked it up and spent the $1500 for a queen size mattress. The first night I woke up repeatedly with excruciating back pain and flopped out of bed in the morning. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt since the website talks about an adjustment period, so I slept 2 additional nights (3 total), with the same result. By then my back was a wreck. I actually went to see a doctor because I was concerned about serious spinal damage. I then asked Christeli to exchange it for their firmest bed (the Versailles), and they complied. IT IS NOT A FIRM MATTRESS! It is still very spongy. I have now spent two nights on the Versailles, and my back hurts worse today than any of the other days. $1500 later, and I'm no closer to a good night's sleep. Yes, they are well-made products and if you like memory foam, this may work for you. But if you like a firm bed, stay away.
After much research and deliberation, I decided on Christeli. I have to admit it is softer than I envisioned. It's different, but in a good way. I am a flight attendant so I don't have the luxury of sleeping at home much. I deal with lots of back issues on a regular basis. All i can say is I can't wait to get home. It's great on the shoulders and hips. I am a side/stomach sleeper and with the softer foam (which I got the firmest one) you still sink in a little, not too much but a little. Overall, I love it. I'm hoping my back with love it too. It's still too early to know because I haven't had enough days in a row of being home to judge. So far, so good. Customer service was fantastic. I basically got a custom bed. I wanted the firmest layer of memory firm and a latex core. They made it happen.
I treated myself to the Palais Grand Royale about a year and a half ago. Loved it! It became necessary for me to store my belongings for a few months while house hunting so I was forced to sleep on another bed. As soon as I moved into my new home, I made up my bed and crawled into it. I had forgotten just how wonderful this bed is. I have severe spinal stenosis and arthritis. A cervical fusion causes migraine-like headaches necessitates me sleeping in an upright position often. This bed is my cocoon that I have made up with real linen sheets and goose down feather bed and comforter. I would spend the day in this bed if I could.
I ordered my mattress on Saturday and it was at my door on Thursday ( granted I live about 4 hrs from Greenville). My son (15 yrs old) and I put the mattress on my bed. Soooooo comfortable! I can't get my family off the darn thing to put my sheets and blanket on. THANK YOU, I love it.
I've been sleeping on my Christelli Versailles bed for a little over a year now. Seriously this is one amazing mattress. No more tossing and turning and no more feeling overheated in the middle of the night. When everything else seems to be "Made in China" it is so incredibly refreshing to find products still made in the US by a company that has integrity and cares about it's products. I have put your mattresses in my guest rooms and anyone who comes here talks about how well they sleep. Thank you Christelli. Well done. Well done.
I purchased the ASTORIA just over a year ago. The first couple of months I though that I loved it, but over time not at all. The top foam mattress buttons to the bottom mattress and moves all over the place. If you sit in bed to watch TV or read and then change positions, it takes a while for the foam to spring back. This leaves an awkward dip in the foam and makes it very difficult to find a new comfortable position. I am now on the market for a new mattress and base and will go back to my original plan to purchase a Tempurpedic or Sleep Number. They do cost more, but you clearly get what you pay for. I plan to give this bed away.
Very comfortable! Great nights sleep!
So, I ordered the Christeli Danieli after obsesssively researching mattresses. Long ago I had a foam mattresss made with 5 inches of 5lb viscoelastic memory foam and I loved it. The Danieli was one of the few mattresses on the market that had similar specs. Before purchasing, I called over and spoke with Christeli folks to make sure they agreed with my assessment that the Danieli was the right choice for me (260 lb side, stomach, and occasional back sleeper) and wife (210 lb mostly stomach sleeper). When the mattress arrived, I initially thought it was not firm enough for me--I like a firmer mattress. However, the proof is In the pudding, as they say. I've had the best nights of sleep I've had in years on this mattress. Last night, I did not wake up once, which for me is an minor miracle. I usually get up at least two times a night, often three or four. I am very, very happy with my purchase, as is this missus. Why only four stars then, if I am claiming the best nights of sleep I've had in years? Christeli lowered the price of the mattress by $200 shortly after I ordered it:(.
After only 8 months with an iComfort mattress I started waking in pain or unable to even sleep. For 2 months I shopped every mattress I could find and found Christeli online while surfing one day. I don't know why but I kept going back to it but was scared of ordering a mattress without being able to lay on it first. BEST decision ever. Went with the Madeline 12.5. My husband has the firmer side up, he is a side sleeper, and I have the softer side up, I am a back sleeper, and the Dog, an every which way sleeper, lays in the "crack" between the 2 mattresses (we have a split king adjustable). It is perfect. We can not wait to go back to bed it is that comfortable. There has not been a restless, toss and turn night in the 5 1/2 months we have had it. We all fall asleep in minutes after climbing into bed. The only down side is that "crack" area. The upper portions of the mattresses seem to always push apart a few inches. But Thankfully the dog doesn't seem to mind it at all. Even she is asleep as soon as the head hits the pillow. I just hope it continues to be the true perfect night sleep!!! I only gave it 4 stars because our old mattress was great for the first few months also. Sure hope I can give it 5 stars in a few more months and more.
We purchased our Briella mattress with the adjustable frame almost 2 years ago. It really helps as I have GERD and leg problems so the adjustable mattress is great. We sleep so much better with this mattress than others we have had. My wife had trouble sleeping due to a hip injuury and does not wake up with the pain now. The only setback is that we do wake up a bit hot at times.
We ordered a mattress for our guest room that I periodically use if my husband is sick, and it has been wonderful. I especially like the pillows that came with the mattress for free! Our master bedroom bed is a Tempurpedic and our Cristeli mattress is just as comfortable but a bit firmer than a standard Tempurpedic.
We ordered the Charleston 14.5 memory foam mattress earlier this month and couldn't be happier! It sleeps cool and gives support while cradling the body. My previous mattress, a Bodipedic with a 20 year warranty sagged after 10 years and had to be replaced. I like the way the Charleston feels and believe it will give us at least 15 years of luxurious comfort! I would highly recommend Christeli as they are American made and have been in business for a very long time. They are even made in my home state of South Carolina! The customer service is top notch and if on the fence, go ahead and give them a try!
The Versailles 10' is a fantastic mattress that provides all of the support I wanted and more. It's firmness is the perfect level for a great night's sleep. This product is truly a great buy!
We purchased a queen Versailles memory foam mattress. The order process was easy & our questions were answered quickly & politely. This was our first memory foam mattress & by reading the great reviews & a neighbor's satisfaction with memory foam we decided to give it a try. But unfortunately after 3 weeks we found it just was't for us. But we thought the quality was excellent. We had paid the additional $29 to be able to receive a refund OR there is the one time exchange also. We found the refund was very fast & there was no hassle at all. Memory foam isn't for us, but we feel like this is a great company to work with.
Received this mattress yesterday and was very impressed with both its looks and the matching queen foundation. Did not want to comment however until spending a night on it. I must say it is fabulous and blows away the competion with the pricing. If your looking for a mattress, you will not go wrong with Christeli. Charlie S.
We use the Christeli mattress in our RV. We are very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it.
I love this bed! I always had back problems but sleeping on this bed is like laying on a cloud and my back never bothers me. Its the best deep sleep I've had on a mattress since I was a kid!
We purchased our Versailles mattress about 8 months ago. Overall, we are pleased with the purchase. It took a little longer than the original estimate to receive it. I would classify it as firm. We were told by the representative that it would be. It did take a little while for it to break in. It was firmer at first, but it softened up after we slept on it for a few weeks. The one thing we do notice is that there is firmer spot in the middle between the two of us. This is where we don't sleep. It doesn't cause a problem, it's just evident. I suppose we could try to sleep there to break that section in. We purchased this to replace a waterbed. We are using it in the waterbed frame and that has worked out fine.
This mattress feels like a cloud it's the perfect firmness for the back yet still so soft and comfy you fall asleep on 5 minutes or less.
We purchased our Christeli matress five months ago. We own both a tempurpedic and a Christeli. We love them both, however when it comes to our pocketbook, we love our Christeli more. My husband has a fused spine, and I have bad hips, very important for each of us to have the right matress.Because we are retired snowbirds, we needed a second matress for our winter location. I found Christeli info online, and the more I read, the better I felt about ordering online. We have had such a wonderful experience with Christeli. Our matress gives us both a healthy nights sleep, and the company has been wonderful to do business with. When our friends mentioned they were in the market for a new matress, I recommended Christeli. Now they too are enjoying the best nights sleep they have had for a very long time. Thank-You so much Christeli. Sincerely, Teal Workman
When it arrived, it was rolled into a giant tube! (I had only seen mattresses in showrooms and on delivery trucks.) It was delivered on the day exactly as promised, wrapped in layers of protection, and it arrived in pristine condition! I am a back sleeper with spine and leg issues, and I am happy to report that this mattress cured me from dreading going to bed! It gives me the great support that I need ... and it feels soft and downy underneath my back side. I wake up without the pain and soreness that have been a way of life for me for far too long. Thank you Christeli for delivering on your promises and providing me with an amazingly comfortable sleep!!
Bought it 2 years ago and still like it a lot. It feels brand new.
about one year after purchasing my Versailles I find myself giving a update on this mattress. I bought this mattress for my motorhome and I use it frequently since being retired allows me to do so, being retired also means that as I am getting older a mattress need to be comfortable and last in that way! The Versailles has lived up to that! I did add a good quality mattress pad to add a little more softness but I knew it would be firm when I decided on the Versailles due to being a 10 mattress. Side support is still great and the foam is still like new! Great mattress and would buy again! I alsp have the Briella at home and will update my review on it.
We ordered the Versailles 10 and a mattress cover. This is the second memory foam mattress we have owned, and we are pleased not only with the product but also with our treatment by Christeli employees. My husband has a bad back, and we have found that memory foam mattresses help him with a restful night without morning stiffness. Our Christelli Versailles is better than our previous mattress. We also appreciated the assistance of Christeli personnel when the mattress protector we ordered was not in stock. They, without prompting, volunteered to and did substitute a higher priced protector at no extra charge. We have no complaints and recommend Christeli highly.
I have purchased two Christeli Versailles mattresses over the last two years, one a queen and most recently a double. I bought them for use in my Airbnb because I wanted my guests to have the most comfortable beds possible. RAVE REVIEWS from my guests. Most comfortable bed I've slept on. Just couldn't get out of bed this morning I was so comfortable. So now, of course, the next one I buy will be for me. Thank you Christeli for your consistent attention to quality and customer service.
We shopped, narrowed it down to a few and selected Christeli for numerous reasons. First, if we didn't like the bed we could return it. Second, since we are local, we were able to pick it up from them. Our old mattress was a (competitor name censored) plush pillow top that sagged after one month. The company picked it up and exchanged it for us, but the bed never really felt good. We kept it for a little over a year and one day decided at our age sleep is precious and we need to get our best. After only a few night's on the Christeli Versailles, I was sold. We never toss or turn or get up sore. We couldn't be happier with our purchase!
On July 22 I wrote a review expressing my dissatisfaction with my mattress. Since then, I have adjusted the position of the bed to the zero gravity feature and have little to no pain. This has pleased me greatly as although Vinny gave me 3 options - try the bed while under the 30 day return if not satisfied - pack it up and get my money back - or pack it up send it back and choose another mattress, what I wanted was for the mattress to work for me and at this stage I think it's working. Thank you Vinny for your continued concern.
Christeli's website very helpful - learned about density-weight of foam so I could compare with other sites. Christeli's customer service was excellent - I was going to get the Briella mattress because the website mentioned it's their top rated - but I was looking for the same feel of my old 10 yr tempurpedic which I learned was firm. The rep said I should go with the Versailles and it was less money. He was certain I would like it and I love it! The shipments arrived in California on time. The foundation very simple to assemble. The compressed mattress quickly rose to the 10 before my eyes - that was cool. No lingering smell from the mattress as compared to my tempurpedic. The feel of the aloe cover luxurious. The Super Cool really works - I don't get hot like I used to with the tempurpedic and the Versailles is still cozy. I am enjoying the firmness - which to me feels soft, just right! I appreciate the handles. Great product, great service - highly recommend.
I ordered the mattress a little over a yr ago. It came within about a week of purchase.. I was skeptic at first because it was shipped in a box.. We put it on the foundation we ordered and have slept great ever since.. Great quality mattress
Found the Christeli web-site while searching for a good deal on a bed for our guest bedroom. Was hesitant because I was not familiar with the Christeli name - however I like to buy made-in-America products when possible. fgehhhrtjh Cannot believe how comfortable this bed is. (I think we may be sleeping in the guest bedroom from now on!).
Initially bought the mattress as a second one for our spare bedroom, my sister had already bought us one so she would have a fabulous bed to sleep on when she visits. These mattress are so comfortable that we like sleeping on them better than our old mattress (which is only one year old). My husband sleeps like a baby and no longer complains of back pain. I now have trouble getting up in the morning because I don't want to leave the comfort of the mattress. If we hadn't just bought new mattresses for our master bedroom I would be investing in a king size for that room. 100% pleased!!
I get approximately 8 hours of good sleep each night.
Forget the TV ads about beds! I have undergone 17 spinal surgeries to-date. I bought the Christeli Mattress after seeing it on-line for the very first time. Free shipping also made the purchase a good deal as well. It was actually delivered via the mail just like any other product? Believe me they packed this mattress so skillfully that it was delivered thru conventional carriers! The mattress is sooo comfortable I can not even begin to explain it in actual words. Take it from someone who has spent since 1984 in a Hospital type bed that this being has never had such a peaceful, painless and restful sleep in my entire life. No sagging, not like plywood in its firmness. It is pillow soft but yet the firmness only excellent materials can provide. Get one soon before the word gets out and you end up paying thousands of dollars like other good quality mattress manufacture's. My was under $700 delivered. I did not need a box spring at all just the platform above the drawers located at the base where a normal box spring would sit. Friends, Family and house guests all request my bed to rest on if life calls for a nap!!!!!!
At 76 my skeleton needs TLC. The new Christeli mattress did the job. It didn't cure all my skelatel ills, but it was a definite improvement over my older inner spring mattress. The price was competitive and delivery was quick and efficient with no need for additional customer service.
I purchased a mattress, and I love it. I've had it now for 3 months and I am able to feel like I had a great nights sleep, and when I'm feeing lazy on the weekend, I can lay in bed for 10 hours or so and not have any back issues. I would recommend this mattress and have told people where I purchased it. Love it.
We love this mattress. I was very worried about buying a mattress for my 2 year old because in the past when I've bought traditional mattresses, the off-gassing took months (that was before I knew better about the horrible chemicals in mattresses). My son had a Naturepedic crib mattress and the transition to the Naturepedic twin mattress was a good choice. When the mattress was delivered we set it up in his room and he was able to use it that very night. No off-gassing horrible chemicals, no bad smells. What a relief! I'm very sensitive to chemical smells so I was happy to not have to deal with that here. We started off on the firm side of the mattress for my 2 year old, but it was very hard. He's been sleeping on the firm side for 1 month, but he keeps waking up at night. We also found that he was trying to put his entire body on his pillow, so we thought he would prefer a softer feel. A few days ago we flipped it over to the quilted side and that feels much better. We still need to get a waterproof pad for it, since the quilted side is not waterproof and he's not yet potty-trained. I would not hesitate to purchase this mattress again. It was very expensive, but if he uses it for 10 years, that's only $75/year. Well worth the peace of mind.View More Reviews
I was nervous when I purchased this mattress because many reviews say it is too firm. Is it firm? Yes. Uncomfortable? No. My son went from a conventional plastic-y crib mattress to this mattress. This one is considerably softer and more comfortable. I lay with him at night as he falls asleep, and I am not uncomfortable on the mattress. I have had no complaints. In fact, we are thinking of buying one for each of our other children. This is a great mattress and is one of the most affordable non-toxic mattresses available. It is firm but not uncomfortable. I highly recommend!
This is a fantastic kid's mattress that made for a seamless transition from the Naturepedic crib mattress. If you're unfamiliar with these mattresses and are accustomed to soft, plush "grown-up" mattresses, you may find this too firm or too stark. However, it's perfect for a kid's growing body. There is no worry of off-gassing or chemical smells - it came right out of the box and onto the bed with no airing out time. The waterproof side is great, with a nice texture that is nothing like a plastic-y waterproof pad. This is a high-quality mattress made from high-quality materials that will leave everyone sleeping well at night!
Ordered this mattress after much research and debate. I am happy with my decision. The mattress was not too firm as other reviews remarked, and is actually almost softer than I wanted because I was hoping the firmer the mattress the longer it will last. It is certainly much softer than the 2-sided naturepedic crib mattress. I bought this for my son transitioning to a big boy bed and expect it to last through childhood. I believe it will and it is very comfortable. We are using the waterproof side which I LOVE. It protects the top and sides without having an awful crunchy, noisy sound or feeling. There was a slight natural odor as some commented in reviews but only if you put your nose to the bed and you can't smell it from the waterproof side. Certainly no strong odor or chemical smell. It is expensive, but compared to adult organic, non-toxic mattresses it is much cheaper and I felt was worth the investment for my son's health and my peace of mind.
12/13/2015 Update: After receiving an email from Naturepedic that the mattress I purchased was defective, I ordered a new one. We've had the mattress for about five months now. No issues with lumpiness. However, I feel like the outer trim of the mattress is starting to loose it's shape/looking bent. I don't believe this is normal wear-and-tear because I've never had this issue with my other mattress. =( I was excited to purchase this matress for my toddler as her new big girl bed; however, I was disappointed with the product for a few reasons: 1) I grew up sleeping on very firm mattresses. I prefer them and enjoy them. Although firm, something about this mattress made it quite uncomfortable. It's just too firm. 2) The discomfort of the firm mattress could be that it feels lumpy. It seems like individual springs can be felt while laying on the bed and shifting positions. 3) The waterproof side of the matress seemed loud. The cover was not taught, so when I moved my arms across it, it was as if I was laying on vinyl plastic that can be heard when moving. I purchased a NP crib mattress and had no problems with its quality; however, the twin mattress was a big disappointment. If you have a recommendation for a quality organic mattress, please share.
I never write reviews but I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this mattress. We've had it for just over a year now and we still have not transitioned my toddler to the bed so this mattress has only been slept on a handful of times by the occasional house guest. When we first received this mattress I noticed that it elevated in the center so it almost felt as if you were rolling down hill on either side of the mattress. I thought perhaps this was because it was new and that it would settle down over time but sadly it hasn't. Also the sides of the mattress are sagging. It's almost as if the side of the mattress totally collapses on itself when you sit on it. I flipped the mattress over to the non-potty training side and it weirdly lumpy. I wanted to love this mattress. I paid more for this mattress than I wanted to because I trusted the brand and I definitely wanted an organic mattress. But I'm sad to say that this mattress was not even close to what we were hoping for. We wanted a mattress our toddler could grow up on, now I'm going to have to buy him a new mattress before he even gets a chance to use it.
Since infancy, my now 3 year-old daughter has slept on a Naturepedic crib mattress in her crib and toddler bed. So when she recently transitioned to a twin-sized "big girl" bed (Charleston Solid Hardwood Platform Bed Frame - Twin Size), Naturepedic was our first choice for a mattress that we knew would be free of chemical flame retardants. We opted for the 2-in-1 mattress instead of the single-sided one for $100 cheaper because we knew from experience (with the crib mattress) that it's 100-times easier to wipe up accidents from the waterproof fabric of the mattress itself, than to have to remove a separate mattress pad and throw it in the wash. Plus, many waterproof mattress pads are made of PVC/vinyl, a toxic plastic the emits phthalate fumes that you don't want your child inhaling in their sleep! The waterproof side of the Naturepedic mattress is made of food-grade polyethylene, which is non-toxic and doesn't give off any harmful fumes. Yes, the waterproof side of the mattress is somewhat firm, but not excessively so, and most importantly, my daughter has never complained about being uncomfortable. After all, she spent the first 3+ years of her life sleeping on an ultra-firm crib mattress, so she doesn't know any differently when it comes to sleeping surfaces. Plus, pediatricians recommend a firm mattress for younger kids, whose bones and skeletal structures are still developing. Once my daughter is older (and fully nighttime potty-trained!), we'll flip the mattress over and use the quilted side. This mattress was recently put to the test and passed with flying colors! A few weeks after we bought it, my daughter had an upset stomach in the middle of the night. She threw up a total of 4 times, soaking her pajamas and bed sheets, but the waterproof surface of this Naturepedic mattress completely withstood it all. Each time, all we needed to do was to wipe the surface of the mattress with Seventh Generation Disinfecting Multi-Surface Wipes, 70 Count, change the sheets and put her back to bed. We wouldn't have had enough mattress pads to cope with all the throw-ups that she had. In short, this mattress helped make a rough night a little less difficult for all of us. I highly recommend it. Grade: A
Switching to this mattress stopped an allergic reaction I was having to my memory foam mattress (all the chemicals!). So in that respect, 5 stars. But this mattress is very hard, so I had to buy a latex mattress topper to be able to sleep on it.
My 13 year old wanted a really firm mattress, so we bought him this one. He even wanted the firmer side up. That lasted a day. So we flipped it to the "less firm" side, which was still way too hard. The two sides are board v. Heavy blanket on board. We wound up buying him a 3" featherbed. I still find it too hard, but he likes it now, though, and finds it just right. The featherbed made all the difference.
We purchased this mattress for our now 3 year-old son. I have read that sleeping on an extra firm mattress is good for growing bodies, but I must say that as a mother laying next to him at bedtime, it feels a bit uncomfortable. That being said, our son has never complained, and it has been almost 6 months since he started sleeping on it. Naturepedic has a good price for an organic mattress, so we will simply purchase an organic topper for comfort when he needs it.
I really like the idea of this bed and the fact that it doesn't have most of the nasty chemicals in it that other beds do. That said this is not the most comfortable bed. Its heavy and feels bouncy. My little boy doesn't seem to mind it, but it just isn't that comfortable of a bed.
I hate to give a low rating to a company that makes a matress with little or no fire retardants, but, this mattress was very uncomfortable. It felt like an old crib matress. Even on the softer side of the mattress, you could feel every spring.
Great mattress for our 2 year old. No chemical smells, and nice cleanable surface.
This has been great for my daughter. Feels like a regular mattress. It has held up very well, despite my daughter jumping on it at least weekly, and sometimes with her friends (it is on the floor for safety reasons). I would give it 5 stars if it were cheaper....seemed a little bit more expensive than it needed to be.
This is the second time I have purchased this item and I am very happy with it. As described & well packaged. I would recommend this product and seller.
I have three of these that I have purchased over the years for my three kids. Outstanding quality and complete satisfaction. Never had to offgas it. And sleep comfortably knowing my kids are not exposed to harmful chemicals. This mattress is supported by the environmental working group.
Excellent. Item was purchased for 2 year old. Used on the floor (montessori inspired) with a low profile boxspring. Child sleeps well and I've even fell asleep on it. Very expensive but worth the cost. No odors or new mattress smell.
The bed was purchased for my 3 year old granddaughter because my daughter felt it was important for her to have an organic mattress. We chose this one because it was mid-price and had one waterproof side. Also free shipping with Amazon prime! The bed seems to be very supportive, comfortable and quite dense so I imagine it will hold up well for many years.
Bought this for my 2 year old son. There is no chemical smell with this mattress which is 1 reason why I purchased. My daughters mattress from a regular mattress brand was purchased 3 years ago and still stinks like chemicals when I take the sheets and cover off. This mattress is also great with the waterproof side that actually works and is easy to clean. Comfortable and my son loves it
Not for those with aches and pains, but good for kids! We have a twin and a full size of this brand and are very happy. We also bought real mattress protectors since the mattresses are expensive, but so worth it.
Few people realize the dangerous chemicals in traditional mattresses. It may see like a huge expense to spring for the organic mattress, but it's well worth it knowing that your child is not inhaling toxins while s/he sleeps. As far as organic mattresses go, this one is extremely comfortable. The vendor, "Elephant Ears" I think it was called was excellent and offered free shipping, which saved me $150. This was a very good buy. My baby sleeps like a baby in it.
Excellent quality and finish. Perfect for toddler transitioning from naturepedic infant mattress.
Fits great for a 3 year old. No smell as others stated
This mattress is great. We don't think it is at all hard as other reviewers have complained. If you want a super deep pillow top type mattress then this probably isn't the one for you, but for a high quality, comfortable, basic organic mattress this one fits perfectly.
Love Naturepedic! Wish they made a king size!!
I bought these for my twins after they grew out of their cribs. I had also used Naturepedic mattresses in their cribs. These mattresses are comfortable and reasonably priced for organic, chemical free mattresses. I would always recommend this brand and will buy this brand for my bed when it's time to replace our current mattress.
Fabulous bed! Zero odor, soft Quilting, natural materials.
Great service, love these mattresses. Hopefully it lasts 20 years!
A little bit too hard on one side.
I bought two of these mattresses for my daughters (age 7 and 11) thinking that the the firmness shouldn't be an issue for bodies as light as they are. I love the fact that they are organic, and that they have a water proof side which is good for the earlier, bed-wetting ages. However, they are so hard that my daughters complain about them. I tried a thin topper, and that didn't work. I eventually bought a 3 inch organic foam topper for one of the mattresses and that did the trick for my older daughter. However, the cost worked out such that I would have been better off getting an organic foam mattress to start with.
Great mattress, a little on the firm side which is what I was looking for.
I bought this mattress because it was chemical-free, and I feel really good about that. I thought it was hypoallergenic, but when I received it, noticed that it had side vents. When I called the company about this, they tried to tell me that dust mites stay on the top layer only, so they offered a mattress pad. I'm a physician, and I wasn't happy with that response. I had to buy an additional hypoallergenic cover. It's nice that one side is waterproof, and the other side cottony. I've had the mattress for about a year now for my two year old. It sagged a bit immediately, and the top layer is a bit loose. These are made on a one-by-one basis, and made to order, so I guess that's ok. I thought this would last him 'til high school, but now I'm not so sure. It hurts my back to sleep on it because it's rather firm. After a year, it seems to have an odd-rice-homey sort of smell. Not sure I would buy again because of the price. Maybe all natural/chemical free mattresses sag?! I gave it four stars instead of three because at the time of purchase, there were not a lot of options out there for safer mattresses.
This is our second Naturepedic twin mattress, and we've also purchased multiple crib mattresses. We always love them, and feel good about our kids burying their faces in this organic, harsh-chemical free mattress. I read through the reviews, but have to disagree that this mattress is too firm, at least, not for a child. I bought it for my preschooler, and little kids often use firmer mattresses. I've fallen asleep on it multiple times and think it's fine, and my kids sleep well on these. I love that one side is water-proof for now, and that we can flip it over for a softer side for when the kids are a bit older. I have no complaints at all. UPDATE: At age 6, my son did start to complain that his mattress was too hard. It was wonderful to be able to simply flip his mattress over from the water-proof side to the softer side and please him without having to buy a new mattress! I also have to add that Naturepedic stands behind their lifetime guarantee. After less than 6 months, a spring had somehow rotated itself sideways in our second of these mattresses and was poking to the side. We don't know why or how this happened, but we wrote to Naturepedic and sent them pictures, and they immediately sent us a new mattress. No charge, no hassle. Very, very pleased.
It was pretty weird to buy a mattress online, but I had no luck finding a local store that sold organic (or just non-toxic) mattresses. I really wanted my son to have a mattress that wouldn't be harmful to his health. This one fits the bill, and it seems to be the least expensive option out there. The manufacturer's own website has it listed for $100 more than Amazon, plus they charge $75 shipping. I was pleased with Amazon's price and the free shipping (from Pennsylvania to California, no less!) The mattress is firm, but comfortable. My 3-year-old son has been sleeping just fine on it. I took a nap on it one day, and I noticed it was firmer than my own mattress.... but I slept just fine.
I really wanted to love this mattress. Organic was a priority for me and when reading the reviews it seemed perfect. Unfortunately, the mattress I received is hollow. There is absolutely no support in the middle of this mattress and if an adult was to lay on it, it caves dramatically in the center. I have no idea if my particular mattress is defective but I am definitely disappointed in the product.
I did a lot of research on mattresses and the incidences of sids when my daughter was born, and ultimately went with an organic crib mattress. When it came time to getting her a big girl bed, I had a very hard time finding full organic mattresses. Not one store in my entire city sells them. So I turned online, and researched every brand I could find. I needed an organic mattress that was not based with latex, and so many of them are. I'm allergic to latex, and fear my daughter will eventually share that allergy. Naturepedic is the brand I continued to come back to, as the best option on the market. Expensive, yes, but there are others that are far more, and none that are less that are made of cotton and not latex. What made me hesitate the most in my purchase is the reviews that said the mattress was too firm. I looked into organic mattress toppers that could help with that, but even those were a small fortune. Finally, I decided to go with this mattress. So glad I did, excellent choice. It is NOT too firm or too hard, it's extremely comfortable. It's possible that they made changes since some of these reviews were posted, to make it less hard. I have a terrible back & hip, and this mattress is comfortable to me. My daughter absolutely melts into it, and sleeps wonderfully! It had zero smell when we opened it - no off gassing, no need to air it out at all. When reading reviews, read the newest ones first. Because I think changes were made to this mattress to make it even better. For us, it's a non-toxic, organic, comfortable, odorless option for a mattress. I really think this one is your best bet!
I was slightly worried about ordering this mattress after reading a couple of reviews stating it was rock hard. I went ahead and ordered it anyway because my daughter has chemical sensitivities, and this was the least expensive, safest option I could find for her. I am happy to report that this mattress, while firm, is indeed comfortable enough- I actually fell asleep while laying with my daughter at bedtime and had a very restful night. My back and hips also felt great when I woke. My daughter slept like a rock and didn't stir until morning. I also noticed that, while I am usually a mouth breather when I sleep, it was very easy for me to breathe through my nose last night. This could be due to the newness of the mattress and the absence of dust mites, but I think the lack of chemicals is probably a contributing factor (I usually start sneezing whenever I walk into a store that sells new furniture because of the off-gassing chemicals). My daughter's nose seemed to stay clear as well. This was a big expenditure for us, but I'm glad we did it because now we have peace of mind that our little girl has a healthy place to sleep until she reaches adulthood. When we can afford it, I'd love to get a Naturepedic for the master bedroom as well.
We used mattress for 6 months - but it still had very strong and irritating smell. When we contacted naturepedic - we were told that nothing can be done. We cut the mattress and here is what we foun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvUF5LSzIJo Please watch before you buy!
