Customer satisfaction is sometimes a confusing moving-target for customers -- like reviewers that don't have the same body weight or sleeping position as you. That said, it is greatly helpful to understand how all of the mattress customer data looks like for multiple brands. Customers are extremely happy with these mattresses overall, which is a great starting point for those considering them.
Supportive beds are excellent -- it is the difference between restless tossing and turning from back pain or waking up refreshed and pain-free. These mattresses are some of the best rated for support in the industry.
Edge Support
Great edge support is the difference between sleeping on the entire bed or only being able to get comfortable in the middle of your mattress. Luckily, these mattresses provide great edge support for sleepers.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
Some reviewers like to use bowling balls to measure mattress firmness. In addition to firmness alone, the bowling ball test is great for measuring even support across the surface. These mattresses do great at providing support across the surface layers, while remaining comfortable and supportive for shoulders and hips.
Durability and longevity are deciding factors for mattress shoppers. Getting 7 to 12 years of use out of a mattress and still being comfortable at night is a nice show of durability. That said, mattress craftsmanship and sleeper body weight can affect durability as well. These mattresses do very well when it comes to durability. Some that are heavy may experience a slight decrease in longevity.

There are is some negative input about these mattresses. Some folks report feeling comfy, but others experience discomfort. One of these may work for you, but it makes it difficult to figure out. Read on below to learn more and to hear from customers to see if one will work for you.
Support isn't exactly the same as firmness. Great support is when a mattress cradles the hips and shoulders to align the spine. Unfortunately, these mattresses have some mixed reception when it comes to support. Most are satisfied with the supportiveness of the mattress right after purchase, but some felt like they weren't supported as time went on.
Edge Support
For those that need to sit on the edge of their bed or roll to the side, even edge support is very important. These mattresses do a good job at edge support initially, but some found it didn't last as well as they would have hoped.
Having a mattress that lasts is one of the most important factors to sleepers. We all wish that our mattress would be just as comfortable a decade later as it was the first day. However, these mattresses are not rated well by some reviewers on durability and some have experienced breakdown after only a short time. If you are thinking about using this mattress nightly, do some research on the reviews and return policy before purchasing.
This mattress is simply amazing! I immediately fell asleep and woke up nice and rested, no back pain what so ever! Like I said - amazing! I recommending this to everyone!
View More ReviewsTook me a week to get my body use to the new bed, now it is amazing, I would suggest giving this bed some time before you make a final decision
My girlfriend and just got a Cal King and love it. Shipping was fast and the mattress is amazing. I should have done this years ago.
I was so excited to get my new Bear mattress, I know 2 people who have them and so I thought if they love them I'll get one. Worst 2 1/2 weeks ever. Woke up all night with a sore back and pain in my hips. But on the other hand my wife loved it. That's why I'm giving this a 3 star and not a 1, because I guess I like soft mattresses. This has about ...Read Morea 6 1/2 out of ten on the firmness scale which I thought was soft (it's not). I'm returned it and exchanged it for a softer mattress... Which I love. My fiancé and I are not athletes by any means, but I'm a light sleeper and he moves around A LOT. We loved the fact that this bed had almost zero motion transfer. It's done wonders for me in getting a full nights sleep, and my fiancé loves it too. The only thing I'd say is that we wouldn't have probably found this company without watching review videos first. They seem to market to athletes a lot, but honestly this will work for anyone. Also the upgrade from a queen to a king is incredible. Thank you bear! We are customers for life.
But after owning this for around 3 months, I have to say that this is the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. I used a Tempurpedic for a while, and I find the firmness of this mattress to be much better. This mattress may be too firm for some and too bouncy for others (I wouldn't want to try the bowling ball and wine glass test), but for me it seems to be just right.
We were hesitant to try the box memory foam mattresses at first, but after doing some research we decided on the bear mattress. The purchasing and delivery process was informative and quick. Setting up the mattress and foundation was very easy. My husband and I have slept very well since getting the mattress. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and toss and turn for hours before falling back asleep. I have slept through the night in a deep sleep for the entire month that we've had our bear mattress. We are very satisfied customers!!
I am so glad gave this mattress a try! It took me about a week to adjust, but have been sleeping better than I have in a long time. Just the right blend of firmness, support and it really does conform to your body.
As advertised this is a very comfortable bed. The only thing I have trouble with is that I lay too long in one position on my back it can be uncomfortable but I don't think it is the bed
Very comfortable bed! Relieved my shoulder and back pain within a month
Great mattress! Especially for the price. Sleep soundly and can’t tell when my husband gets out of bed. Mattress is firm yet molds to your body! Love it!
Bear mattress has been a great experience. It was so easy to order, came in just a few days and was very easy to set up. Now the mattress- super comfortable - just the right firmnes. I would definitely recommend and buy again!
Love this mattress. I am a very warm person and I have to say I love being cool all night long. We even bought the pillows and they are amazing. I would have to say I feel the mattress for me is a bit on the firm side, so it did take some getting used to. But overall it has exceeded my expectations. And what's even better is its wife approved..... She loves it!
Great mattress, comfortable and supportive. I love it
Great, comfortable bed.
To be honest, after the first night I was ready to get rid of it! It was extremely firm and my husband urged me to give it time. Now after a few weeks, it’s great! I didn’t think a mattress that came out of a box would be that comfortable. It feels firm to the touch, but once you lay down you’re transported to a cloud. Love it!
I've loved my bear mattress! It does not sleep warm at all. Sleeps cooly like a traditional mattress. The mattress is soft to the touch but very supportive and firm. I have not woken up aching since I got my Bear. Worth every penny!
exceptional mattress/foundation. Has helped my sleep immensely
I bought my son the Bear Mattress and he is so happy he hates to get out of bed to start the day. I think the bed is amazing also and may get one for myself.
Great mattress! Sleeps really well and I love how cool it sleeps. I hope it never wears out but if it doesiwill buy another Bear!!
It's a little firmer than I expected at first, my wife too. But after a few days you adapt to that and it really is a comfortable mattress. Love how it give that memory foam contour without that memory foam grab.
We love our Bear Mattress! It was super easy to set up, and super comfortable. It took a week to get used to, but after that we have never slept better.
We were looking for an affordable memory foam option mattress and wanted to upgrade to the king size! Definitely very happy with our purchase! Easy to set up and comfortable from the first night. If you like a firm mattress, this one is for you. I was very pleased with the price and delivery. The mattress is also very nice, it's just too firm for me. Unfortunately, I will be returning it.
The mattress has been great. The best mattress I've ever slept on. My big thing was the ability to dissipate heat while I sleep. if it could live up to that promise, I knew it would be perfect for me, and they actually pulled it off. Who needs a $3-5k Tempur Pedic? I used to prefer sleeping on a rock hard Select Comfort mattress. The Bear Mattress felt a little soft initially, but I got used to the memory foam feel. It provides good lumbar support and sleeps relatively cool.
I don't really know what I expected honestly, but I'm not disappointed! For the first time in years I woke up and walked to the bathroom. I didn't hobble. I didn't take a few minutes to work through the soreness. There was no soreness!! I've also been on the hunt for a good pillow for years and this is it! No neck pain and keeps me cool. I have a very physically active job and crossfit at least 3 days a week. This mattress totallt aids in recovery
Found this mattress by luck online. Purchased it for my son after many failed attempts and he loves it; hasn’t slept this comfortably in a while. Highly recommend the company and the mattress, trying to convince my wife to get one for us.
I’ve been sleeping on this mattress for a month or so now, and I love it! I originally got it for our spare bedroom, but we loved it so much that we moved it into the master bedroom! Very easy delivery, fun to open up, and the mattress is awesome! Did I say that I love it?
Love it!!!! Haven’t slept this great in a long time!!
We're very happy with our bear mattress so far! Sleeping great and it doesn't hold the heat like our old Tempurpedic did.
I haven't had an amazing experience, but I'm still hanging on. My other mattress was giving me back pain every night. My Bear mattress is the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. It definitely helps with my chronic lower back pain. The price is also so much less expensive than comparible mattresses
I purchased the king size Bear mattress and have been sleeping cool. I have always been a hot sleeper. Wake up sweaty and hot. Restless nights as a result. Not anymore. Since getting the Bear I have slept cool! Sleeping cool means better nights sleep for me. Very comfortable too. A great product at a great value. Sleeping cool and sleeping longer now! Loving it!!
The mattress seems to be of high quality and good feel. I would put it in the same class of other mattresses of the same type (Casper or Leesa). This is the first mattress I’ve ever invested in. It took me a couple days to adjust to it and now it feels like a perfect match. I’m use to mattresses being really bouncy so it’s a nice change. Definitely worth it. I also purchased the bear box and mattress protector.
I love my bear! As a side sleeper I determined I needed a bit more cush so I added a 2” foam latex topper and a quilted mattress pad. With these minor adjustments I now have the bed perfect for me. The firmness level of the mattress is probably perfect as-is for back and stomach sleepers. With this purchase I upgraded from a traditional spring, queen size to the Bear cal king. I’m tall - 6’2” - and I am celebrating that my feet no longer dangle over end of bed. I find the foam technology far superior to the spring type. I made my own platform out of pine boards.
We like our new mattress. However it says its a queen size and it is smaller than our queen bed frame fairly significantly. It is comfortable and a little softer than I thought.
Great bed for in between soft and firm!
The bear mattress is extremely comfortable. I have no complaints so far. It’s a perfect mix of firm and plush. Before the bear mattress, I was waking up with backaches. These backaches have completely disappeared and I look forward to a great night sleep every evening.
I order the yogabed through their website, which was a breeze and the customer service was excellent. The bed, not so great. Upon unpacking, I notice a VERY strong chemical odor, which is from the foam off-gassing VOC's (volatile organic compounds) It took much longer than 3 days to dissipate, more like one week, which is much longer than anyone should have to inhale such a scent. Initially, the bed felt amazing, the cover is soft and stretchy (probably the best part of the whole mattress) and the top layer felt very nice. Sleeping on it was a different story though. After a few weeks the foam begins to soften as you "break-in" the bed. The parts where me and my partner slept, began to feel softer than the middle of the bed (and we're only 150 lbs). As a stomach and side-sleeper this was not ideal as I began to wake up with lower back pain. So we returned the bed. This seems to be a common problem with many foam beds in this price range. There are other beds on amazon that use similar materials and are a fraction of the cost (dreamfoam, brentwood homes etc). As for me and my partner, we opted for a bed that uses latex (natural, non-toxic, more durable than memory foam and doesn't smell) and a higher density base/core foam (more than 1.8 lbs) which seems to be holding up better. Do your research on foam beds and the quality of their materials. I would not recommend this bed to people who weigh over 180lbs or who have a sensitivity to chemical odors.
View More ReviewsAfter a TON of research on the available beds on the market right now, I felt that the Yogabed offered all of the features I was looking for in a mattress. We were extremely excited when it arrived and the experience of receiving the box, opening the mattress and getting things set up was wonderful. However, the bed was much firmer than I had anticipated! It works great for my husband who is a 6'4" 350# strongman, but my 130# frame feels like I'm sleeping on bricks. We ordered the mattress in November and have slept on it for almost two months now. I have lost more sleep in those months than over the course of my life! We're looking into other options and possibilities now and will be returning the Yogabed before our 101 day trial ends. I had such high hopes for this mattress and am disappointed with the actual product. I am still giving the review three stars though because their customer service and the experience with the company so far has been great, plus my husband said the bed is comfy for him even if it is a bit firm. Maybe a mattress topper would help....
My first night on this bed sucked.
I did not sleep well at all.
After that it was and has been the best mattress I've ever used. Still after almost 90 days it's absolutely incredible.
My wife and I have a new baby and every drop of sleep counts. Believe me when I say as soon as I fall asleep I'm ASLEEP. Often my wife will tell me about waking up to tend the baby and I have zero recollection of her getting up. That's how great I sleep.
I was very worried about how firm it would be, especially from all the reviews and ratings but I guess we are already used to a firm bed because so far this one has been out of this world. Not too firm at all.
To add to it, you can and SHOULD return this mattress within the 101 nights trial if it doesn't work out for you. It sounds like some of the other less than five star reviews have forgotten about this awesome policy. That makes it essentially RISK FREE and I can't understand why EVERYONE wouldn't just jump on regardless if they're sure of the bed or not.
If it doesn't work out for you, they will take it back and refund your money 100%. Simple.
Anyway, I'm writing this from my amazing yogabed and am about to turn out my bedside light for another night of awesome sleep. I can't wait.

My previous spring mattress was as hard as a rock. I suffered from lower back pain and rib pain as a side sleeper on a hard mattress with pressure points. The first few nights for me was up in the air, as i think my muscles and bones had to readjust. On the 4th night, voila ... i slept all the way through. I think the best way to describe this bed is medium firm with no pressure points. This mattress has literally changed my life, as i am now pain free. I forgot what it was like to wake up without aches. Bottom line is ... your mattress is CRITICAL, buy a good one. I'm sold on the foam concepts. There are now about 5 similar products like this. You can review the comparisons on Youtube. The Yogabed worked for me. If you hate it, they give you 365 days now to return it for a refund. They also include 2 pillows, and the mattress cover unzips so you can wash it. They also will include a topper of memory foam if you want to soften it a bit.
[i bought mine from the Yogabed website, as i had a good promo-code that doesn't work on Amazon. Same net price though]
I've had my yogabed for just over a year now and one thing I can easily say is that I have tested it harder than most anyone could. First, I am 6'4" and weight 270lbs. Right there I am putting more on the mattress than normal. Second, I've developed an auto immune disease. Still doing a bunch of tests but docs think it's psoriatic arthritis. Over the last year my pains levels have gone up and up, which puts me in bed for large portions of most days. A large guy (I'm pretty well proportioned, so not just big in the middle) on the bed for long periods of time.
Having said that, I'm very happy with yogabed. I'm a natural side sleeper, but my situation leaves me only able to lay on my back. When I could, I enjoyed sleeping on my side. Side note, the free pillows are really nice but not thick enough on there own for side sleeping. I do sleep comfortably on my back--as comfortably as I can at least. The mattress has a great feel to it. It gives, but you don't sink into it. Also the little bit of springiness is great to, compared to my previous mattress, a tempurpedic. That thing, while decently comfortable, was like moving in quicksand. Anyway, it also says pretty cool for a foam based mattress.
The cover is great. Super easy to unzip for washing and easy to reattach. It comes with two free pillows, which are high quality and great for back and stomach sleepers. Side sleepers will probably put a small pillow under to get proper head height. I would say the 6/10 firmness rating is right, but remember my size. Someone small will probably consider it more firm. Best thing I can say is, if your on the fence, try it. You get 101 days to try it and if you change your mind, you get a full refund and they will pick it up. Can't lose.
FINALLY! Awe... I think the search is finally over! After approximately a year of trying to find a bed I think I have finally found the perfect mattress for me.
Long story short. Never had back problems but my 10 year old mattress I would wake up with lower back pain (Would go away 10 minutes after getting up) and bed was starting to sag. Time for new mattress
So... I tried A mattress from Room& Board (Firm) and while no back pain was a little too firm. Then on to the online guys Tuft & Needle, Leesa, purple, and Yogabed.
In my opinion Nothing wrong with ANY of these but Yogabed seems to be the best at trading off firmness with bounce, sleeps cool, and price.
OK it's not the cheapest T&N is the winner there and It is not the most innovative, Purple is the winner there. BUT... It definitely sleeps the coolest, the response is very good, and the removable cover is just a plus. For sleeping (Which is probably the most important it has juuuustthe right amount of give where I felt the T&N was just a little too firm (And I like a firm bed) The Purple has too much technology does sleep as cool but is similar to Yogabed at a higher cost (must be trying to recoup all those patent costs or paying he goofy goldilocks actress too much $)
Customer service was good on all of them, but in the end Yogabed is the best option. I believe had Yogabed come out before T&N and the others they would dominate this market. Also you can try the T&N at one of their showrooms and I am sure that helps sales.
Bottom line Try the YogaBed or T&N first If you try T&N and want a smidge more give... go Yogabed If you love Yogabed but want just a smidge more firmness (Pretty firm) then opt for T&N. or if you just listen to me you will buy the Yogabed and not have to worry about any returns. It realy is an amazing Mattress and love it!!! Thanks Yogabed
My husband and I just had our first night on our new Yogabed and we both absolutely love it. It is the perfect balance of soft and firm. We both like that is is not so soft you sink into it like other foam beds. It relives all the pressure points and seems to customize to your body. It also sleeps cool which is great for the warm summer nights here. The pillows are magical as well. THANK YOU YOGABED!!! I'm currently convincing my parents to get one and will probably get a twin for our sons room.
I have had my bed for a little over a month at this point, and I really love it!
I would say that it is about 7.5/10 for firmness. This is ideal for me as it is soft enough to be comfortable, but firm enough that I don't sink into an uncomfortable position. However everyone prefers a different firmness so keep in mind that this mattress is on the firm side of average.
The bed is also interesting to set up, it arrives rolled up and vacuum packed. Once you open the plastic around the mattress it swells up to full size over the next few minutes. I noticed a few other reviews mentioned a weird smell from the mattress, but I only noticed a faint foam smell which dissipated within a day.
I ordered directly from the Yogabed website, and at first I thought I had a problem. All the reviews I had read indicated that the mattress would ship with two pillows but when mine arrived there were no pillows to be found. I sent their customer support a message asking if this was a mistake or if it was a limited time offer that I had missed, and it turns out that it was a promotion that had already ended. But they offered to send me a pair of pillows anyway! So I have to say that their customer support really went above and beyond the call of duty.
That about wraps it up. Comfy mattress, fantastic customer support. If you are looking for a new mattress then consider Yogabed.
Had this mattress for about 2 weeks now and have slept wonderfully. I think it's the perfect combination of a firm base combined with a soft and forgiving surface. Love the textured, cooling exterior of the mattress as well.
Surprisingly, for a free add-on, the pillows that come with the mattress are also incredibly comfortable (I anticipated throwing them in a closet and purchasing pillows separately, but now expect to just use the Yoga pillows).
To those who complain about the mattress being too firm: sure, you have to like a moderately firm mattress to like the Yogabed - but there is a difference between firm (i.e., supportive) and hard (i.e., uncomfortable). This is very much the former, and not at all the latter, in my opinion.
I'm also not a particularly large person (5'9, 140 lbs), so I don't think you have to be a massive individual to enjoy and benefit from this mattress.
my wife and I bought this mattress to replace our old one. we've had it for a couple of weeks. the first few days it was different but now it is great! we sleep soundly with minimal tossing and turning

After a TON of research on the available beds on the market right now, I felt that the Yogabed offered all of the features I was looking for in a mattress.
Just do yourself a favor and stop debating. GET THIS MATTRESS. It's absolutely risk free and absolutely worth it.
Can't lose.
