Bear mattress is one of the best mattresses reviewed. Although it is marketed and has won awards among athletes, it has a lot going for it for everyone. For one, it is designed to alleviate pressure points and straighten your spine (perfect for both sore athletes and people with chronic back pain). Also, its combination of CertiPUR-US foams (something that many similar beds don't offer), means that you aren't breathing in toxins at night. Lastly, it comes at an extremely affordable price given the quality of foam it uses. Because of all of these factors, folks love this bed.

Bear Mattress's Specifics

Quality of Materials

Bear has multiple materials that are differentiators in the memory foam space.

Layer 1: The first and most important is their Celliant cover. Celliant is a very special material that reacts to your body heat to create infrared light and clinically has been proven to help blood oxygenation and circulation. This has instant effects on both keeping your mattress cool and also helping you rejuvenate after a workout (or if you are chronically in back pain). I've personally used this technology after I had a severe muscle strain and can stand behind its impact.

Layer 2: Bear has graphite infused memory foam that keeps the bed cool as its top support layer. Overall, the mattress should only be minorly influenced by your body heat, which is really key to a comfortable sleep for most people.

Layers 3-5: Lastly, they have three additional layers of foam (two 1.25'' layers of elastic memory foam to relieve pressure and one 6.5'' layer of base support foam.)

Overall Comfort

A great majority of testers and customers experience this bed as salvation for back and pressure point pain, but lets dig into what that means in terms of overall feel.

Firmness

Overall, Bear has been reported to run medium firm. For those that are used to Tempur-pedic style mattresses that may have a cradling feeling, this bed will be firmer and could take about 1 week to get used to. However, clinical research has shown that a medium firm bed is better on spinal alignment and helps at alleviating back pain.

Back Pain Relief

From over 500 user ratings and reviews we collected online on Bear Mattress, there is a statistically significant number claiming that this mattress relieves back pain against many other memory foam mattresses in the industry.

Cooling

From the materials to the design, this mattress is all about staying cool. For one, the Celliant mattress cover converts your body heat to infrared light, which lowers the temperature where your body is making contact. Additionally, the graphite infused top foam layer diffuses heat quickly inside the mattress. If you've had a heat trap, this is not one of those.

No More Chronic Pain!

I had a Tempur-pedic mattress and after suffering from an accident, I haven't been able to sleep right for the last year. I read the reviews about Bear mattress and decided to give them a shot. I can't believe that I am writing this review after what I have been through. The stuff in the mattress cover they provide definitely works. My back immediately started feeling better after about 1 week on the mattress. If you are considering this mattress, get one. It didn't break my wallet and every day I wake up refreshed again. I feel 10 years younger.
