Aireloom is a brand of California based E.S. Kluft & Company that is sold exclusively in mattress retailers across the US. Its claim to fame is their patented 'Aireloom lift' that increases the areas of low pressure when one is laying on the mattress. This gives the sense that the bed is cradling you. However, there are common complaints about the mattress's durability and some claim that it sags over time. Additionally, price is a potential issue with the brand as their prices are much higher than competitive brands.
Technogel® is a brand of mattresses and pillows that uses a proprietary gel technology. The gel has properties of both water and a solid, which enables it to better alleviate pressure and maintain proper spinal alignment while allowing ease of movement. It is used in everything from wheelchair seats, to car interiors, and lastly in mattresses. Most customers describe it as comfortable and pain-relieving, but pricey for the average sleeper.
Based on our aggregated reviews and our scoring method, we recommend Technogel in this match up!

Some sleepers are comfortable with their new beds, but others were not as satisfied with how the mattress made them feel. Despite those that love these mattresses, these mattresses have lower than average customer satisfaction. Read on below for more information about these mattresses.
Folks usually think that mattresses that are good at support are always firm, but when we write about support, we are talking about material that aligns the spine. These mattresses do a good job providing support for the average sleeper, but rarely, some customers don't always like the feel.
Most find these mattresses to have good quality edge support, which the preference of those who sit on the side of the bed or enjoy laying on the edge of the mattress.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
By placing a bowling ball on different parts of a mattress, you can measure how well a mattress will support the spine. These mattresses provide a good amount of support for the average sleeper, but some with wide hips and shoulders may experience some discomfort.
In addition to having good support, having a mattress that really lasts is key for shoppers. We all wish that our mattress would be just as comfortable a decade later as it was the first day. Unfortunately, not all customers regard these mattresses highly overall on durability, and some have had some problems over the short term. If you are thinking about buying and using full time, read through the customer reviews and return policies to make sure that you are secure in your purchase.
Great customer satisfaction scores are what shoppers want to see. These mattresses get higher marks from customers than many other competitors, which should give you a good starting point to learn more. Keep reading on to learn about the specifics and how they will relate to your body!
Customers report that these mattresses are good at support. Though there are some that don't absolutely love the firmness levels of these mattresses, the majority of reviewers describe them as having the right amount of support for deep sleep.
Edge support is really important for people that spend time sitting on the side of the mattress or sleep near the side of the mattress at night. These mattresses are well rated by most on edge support and they should fit the needs of most folks.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
Bowling balls are useful to measure mattress firmness and support. These mattresses do a good job with delivering even support throughout the mattress, which means they should do well comfortably responding to your body.
In terms of the durability, these mattresses do a good job versus competitors. Having a durable mattress can mean years of comfortable nights. while one that fails quickly can mean endless back pain. These mattresses should stay comfortable for 7 - 12 years for most sleepers, which is good on average. Folks may experience slight decreases in durability who are of heavier builds or spend more than average in bed.
BI have had my Rip Van Winkle Natural Dreams with Luxury Cashmere King bed for 12 years. Many could say that is a long life span however I would like to provide long term customer experience details. Extreme sagging from year 1. Called Sealy's where purchased and they came out and said natural use. Ridiculous. Offered me store credit of $1000 on a $5000 King Mattress.
2. This mattress is so darn heavy that it would take 3-4 strong adults to move it (I've moved 4 times in 12 years...everyone says it's the heaviest mattress to move)
3. After point 2 was made, can you imagine flipping and rotating this bed on your own? It takes 2 adults and still is ridiculous.
4. In addition to sagging it forms to your body so to speak so after 3 years it has looked like a body shape of a 200 lb woman and hump in the middle and a less dented body shape of a 160lb man. This causes lots of cumbersome rotating & flippingwhich is very difficult.
5. I've reached my life span of a $5000 (price paid on sale) mattress with a 25 year warranty after 12 years.
6. I'm currently mattress shopping and can buy a new Sealy for 1/3 of the price and not care if lasts 5-7 years.
Bought a aireloom mattress 6 months ago from sit and sleep. Worst mattress I have ever owned. Sags so bad that I wake up with a backache every morning. Sis and sleep well not do a thing about it
My husband and I have never been so cozy comfortable. We have the split king with adjustable base.
I immediately was relieved from hip pain that I had from a fairly new Temperpedic mattress.
The only complaint we have is: WE DON'T WANT TO GET OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING.
We purchased our Aireloom Chantille Ultra Plush Euro Top Eastern King mattress from Mancini's in Mountain View, CA., Nov. 2012. What had sold us on spending $8101.00 on a mattress was that when we tested it in the showroom we did not feel the movement of our partner. For us, who are light sleepers, this is a major deal. Our body was supported and it was very comfortable. A bit too high for us, so we exchanged the tall box spring for one that was several inches shorter.
We received that mattress and straight away there was a problem. Not Mancini's problem, we would need to contact an independent inspector (Premier Inspection Services,LTD.), at our expense, to analyze the mattress and make a recommendation. He did, and basically said that the problem was in our head.
Here it is 2016 and the mattress still does not live up to the mattress that we tested in the showroom. The shape is trapezoidal, and we feel every movement that our partner makes. Rolling over, change in position, sneezing and coughing are all felt by the other.
We feel gypped and misled. How could we have been so stupid. We could have purchased a cheaper mattress and changed it out when it no longer was comfortable.
We initially bought a tempurpedic based on many recommendations. 30 days later and my back was an absolute mess. I could hardly move and I was at the chiropractor 6 times in 30 days. The chemical smell was horrible and I was sweating my butt off. My wife could not bear to sleep in it. I even had my kids jump on it to try to 'break it in'.
So, we went back to the store and the sales person was very helpful in assisting with the problems that we were having. My wife stumbled across the Aireloom mattresses and suggested I try it out. I fell in love with the support and comfort immediately. The price kind of scared me initially, but with 30 days of hell behind me, I was up for anything. I like the fact that there are many 'real' materials in this mattress and it is not a cookie cutter mattress made out of chemicals. The delivered the mattress promptly and our first night was heaven. Support, cool and comfort. We noticed immediately that when the two of us were in the middle of the bed, there was considerable sag to the mattress. I was kind of perplexed by this until I was on the floor playing with our dog and my wife and kids were horsing around in the bed. I noticed that there was significant flex in the box spring support slats when they were rolling around on the bed. Being an amish bed frame, the box is supported by 3/4 inch oak slats that run from side to side. I made up support blocks positioned under the slats in the middle of the bed and the problem was rectified. This bed is as comfortable today as it was the day we bought it.
This is so interesting....A couple of years ago, my mom gave me her brand new, Aireloom Hybrid Bamboo mattress as she decided to purchased a different size (mine is a queen). I live in an older building, and there is a place in my bedroom floor where it's uneven, so when I started to feel like I had to roll uphill to turn over in bed, I figured it was the floor, not the mattress; however, my handyman used his balance to show me that the floor underneath my bed is indeed level, which was so baffling to me, as I feel as though I am sleeping in a ditch when I am on my side of the bed.
I have a solid platform bed, with storage drawers, so it can't be chalked up to an unsteady base or bed frame. I stumbled upon this site accidentally this evening, while researching mattresses, and am now 100% convinced that my mattress is to blame, and I am not crazy.
Not only that, but the mattress weighs about a million pounds, and sits inside the platform, so that changing the fitted sheet is akin to a strenuous gym workout. Just lifting the mattress is ridiculous. Once, while lifting the corner, I felt the fabric tear, on the underside of the mattress.
My mom kept telling me how expensive the mattress was, that it was a really good mattress. I can't lie; it's super cushy and comfortable, but the sagging is beyond annoying. I have propped it up under one side with books/magazines to even it out, but I can promise you I won't be spending my own money on an aireloom, when I am ready to replace this one.
When we tried this bed in the store my husband felt very comfortable as soon as he laid on it. I felt like it was a little firm, but thought I could get use to it. From the first night it has been a nightmare for both of us. We are exhausted! My back, shoulders, hips ache. It has gotten so bad after two weeks I have gone to the spare bedroom. My husband is not sleeping well and it feels like only after two weeks there is already a body impression on his side of the bed. He feels that the bed sleeps hot. I have not noticed that yet. Very disappointed overall.
Do not even think of buying an airloom bed. We bought one from Macys in Oceanside. It began to sag within about a month or two.
Made the mistake of waiting too long to call the company. You have 90 days. After that, they came out and agreed that it sagged , but since it wasn't over an inch and a half they would not take it back. Actually the bed sagged an inch and the box spring sagged another 1/2 inch which equals the 1 1/2 inches but since the box spring was involved they would not take it back. Macy's refused to help. We sold the bed less than a year later with over a $3000.00 loss.
My advice is do not get involved with Airloom.
I purchased an Aireloom Mattress. The store that I bought it from no longer carries Aireloom. The inspector from the independent inspection company determined that the mattress failed. Originally, Linda Menzel from Aireloom wanted me to spend about $1420 to ship the mattress to California from New Jersey and back. When I pointed out that they had a plant in PA, Ms. Menzel stated that it would cost $620 to ship the mattress to and from PA.
When I accepted their offer to ship the mattress to PA, Aireloom wanted me to sign an agreement not to disparage as well as waive any future legal rights. After questioning Ms. Menzel, she stated that even if the mattress were defective when it was returned to me, I could not sue Aireloom. By adding the requirement of not to disparage and to waive all future rights, they violated the terms of their warranty and thus defrauded me.
In my opinion, Aireloom is a terrible company to deal with because they do not honor their warranty. If they did this to me, do you think they will treat you any differently?
I bought an aireloom mattress from OC mattress in Costa Mesa CA. Was told when I bought this that there was no memory foam, but alas this was untrue. After purchase I noticed heat retention and complained to the store and manufacturer. Found out that it contained 7% memory foam. After several months have noticed sagging and 'holes.'' Paid lots of money and disappointed. Would not recommend.
If you're researching a new mattress please read the above reviews and DO NOT buy an Aireloom product. Like the others above have written within weeks my wife and I found our new mattress to be forming deep depressions. We called Aireloom and they sent an inspector and the results were that the 'holes' were within expected body depressions. That's the last Aireloom I'll ever buy. Absolute junk.
3 years ago my husband and I made the trek out to our local mattress retailer. We were buying two mattresses - one for personal use and the other for a duplex for our parents. Decided on two Sertas when at the last moment.....I spotted the Aireloom. I had to test it and I fell in love. It was the most comfortable bed I had ever tried! But alas, the honeymoon period ended and we were left with a mattress that had some serious sagging issues after only 3 years. Some might say that is a good life for a mattress but I have to point out the only two other mattresses we have purchased for personal use lasted at least 10 years each and with no sagging. We only replaced them because we wanted to try newer models. Aireloom - I wanted to love you! Love you for being handmade, being the cushiest bed on the showroom floor, for being the sexiest in looks and for being handmade in CA. Sorry but I can love you no more. Moving on to a new lover.
I wish I had ready reviews like these before spending over $3000 on our Aireloom in 2012. We expected this mattress to last 20-25 years. When we first got the mattress I couldn't have been more satisfied. It was firm, supportive and so good for my bad back recovering from surgery. Within a few months I noticed I was making a sag in the bed. I tried moving around in the bed more and that helped for a while but now my husband and I are so miserable sleeping in this bed that we can't wait to replace it. We have flipped it end to end but I'd rather return to an old fashioned innerspring mattress that I can flip over. It just makes sense that with more sleeping surface the mattress will last longer. I will for sure NEVER spend $3K on a mattress again.
I have had a real problem with sciatica over the last couple of years. While this mattress has not prevented it, better body pressure distribution seems to have really helped. I don’t wake up in the AM tired and feeling achey.
Macy's was a pleasure to work with throughout and the mattress has been very comfortable so far.
We had been looking for a new mattress for over 2 years, and finally landed on the Airloom Hybrid. Already on the first night, I noticed when I woke up in the middle of the night, my hip and shoulder pain I would typically feel before I rolled to the other side was gone! This mattress really takes the pressure off.
I took my time to find the right bed for my needs and really liked the Aireloom Hybrid. When I returned to buy it, my salesperson was tied up with another customer so that allowed me a good half hour to lie on the bed to make sure it was the one for me. Within 2 weeks of owning the mattress I noticed it wasn't springing back into shape. I've only owned it a month now and it has such deep depressions from my body (and I'm only 5' tall and 115 lbs!) that it feels almost as uncomfortable as my old mattress and is hurting my back. I've informed the salesperson I worked with that I'll be returning this one and hoping she can find something that will work as well as I hoped the Aireloom would. Highly disappointed.
Tried this bed 3 times at Macy’s laid on it , sales women was great she recommended this bed I looked at a few in mac
We tried 3 different mattresses in 3 months before picking this one. The others were either too firm or too soft, but this one was absolutely perfect. Plush, but with the right amount of support. Finally getting the best nights sleep. Waking up feeling rested, and not sore. If you are picky about your mattress, this is the one to try....you wont regret it.
Love this mattress, so comfortable, soft, best sleep in a long time.
Shopping for a new mattress had turned into a nightmare, between pop up stores and online beds in a box/bag I'd given up. Then I thought Macy's that were my parents would go. Our salesman was great listened to our needs and pointed us to several options, gave us the time we needed to decide. Delivery and set up was a breeze. Great mattress! ! Love it.
Very comfortable, conforms to body for a comfortable night sleep. I have spinal problems and this has been a big help. It lets me toss and turn with no problems. I tried many mattress' in the store, and this one worked. The salesman was wonderful it took us 2 hours and many jumping from mattress to mattress, his patience was above and beyond.
My purchase could not have been accomplished without the help of the OUTSTANDING Members of the Macy's team in San Francisco at Union Square. Their care and attention to my unique needs and wishes got this very important purchase accomplished. Lili Spagnoletta helped me this time and with my previous mattress over 15 years ago. For this purchase she got her Customer Service Manager Lori to help secure financing options. They Really Care!
We tested out this bed in the store and it was, by far, the most comfortable! We tried at least a dozen beds that were 5X the cost and this one was the best. The delivery was seamless and we can't wait to sleep on this tonight!
Took a couple of days to get use too, since I was sleeping on a mattress over 20 years old. Now I love it, and would definitely recommend it. Also had great delivery service on a very hot day!
It's firm and yet soft. Very comfortable! Great Buy!
It’s been exactly one year since purchase. Have called for questionablydefect internally. Mattress sags on one side causing excessive backache for me yet other side is firm. My weight 215 lbs. we purchased for a it being firm and king size. Compared to a foam inner coil mattress purchased in 2003, now 2019, this mattress is better built and low indentation of body points on bed. For the Airloom, I have to wake up completely to turn over. Yet when testing was done on Airloom, it was visually different between side and what measurement that was taken only involved a string pulled taught across mattress and a card with lines drawn to distinguish body indentation. There wasn’t any weighted pressure on points where indents were to measure any foam or spring collapse. I have now received letter from company I purchased from saying it meets standards under warranty. I’m doing a follow up for better practices to measure internal, not visual, of mattress. Over $4000 spent with less than 1 year of use. My queen foam/coil mattress after 16 years outperforms the Airloom and my back doesn’t hurt.
I have owned my Aireloom mattress for about 11 years. I called and emailed customer service and never received an answer. After 3 weeks of trying, I finally reached someone who was extremely rude. I weigh 110 pounds and the indentation of my body is so deep that I can't move at night. When I asked if they have any kind of warranty they said they can't guaranty anything, without asking what the problem is. I would not suggest purchasing this procuct
I really wanted to love my AIRLOOM CORONADO mattress. I wanted to support the local California business and own a handcrafted bed. But what happened is that I wasted $5000 and now have a giant piece of trash in my bedroom that I have to dispose of. After only 4 months, I noticed the mattress was starting to sag but I didn't despair because the mattress has a warranty. But this is just a scam because it took multiple phone calls and emails to get Airloom to send out a mattress inspector. This inspector makes all the movements of performing an inspection, taking measurements and photos. But, in the end, Airloom does nothing. Like other unfortunate customers, I will be returning to the mattress store to purchase something with a better reputation.
This mattress has been worth every penny I spent. What was important to my wife and I was a cool and supportive mattress. I fall asleep sooner and stay asleep longer now we have what we need. Thank youView More Reviews
Due to a spinal cord injury, I was only getting 4-5 hours of solid sleep. With my gel bed that has increased to 6-7 hours. I gave a four rating because of the massage feature. It's loud on higher settings and the massage vibration is not that smooth at higher settings.
Wow, this is a great bed. I wake up totally rested. Best sleep I have ever had. I am waking up one to two hours earlier then I use to and feel completly rested. I am not waking up in the night like I use to. A more deep sleep for sure!
Purchased two twin XL beds that were delivered a week ago and have experienced the best sleep ever from the first night. This mattress conforms perfectly to the adjustable base providing a high level of comofort in all positions. Customer service was very helpful in deciding which bed was right for me.
I love this mattress. I was 9 months pregnant when we first got the estasi and immediately noticed my hip pain diminishing. Three months later, I'm happily sleeping on my belly and side again and could not be more pleased with the comfort this mattress provides. It is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I love this mattress, I love this company even more. The original retailer I purchased this from went out of business shortly after my purchase and technogel went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied. The situation I found myself in was at no fault to them, however they stepped and treated me as their personal customer. You don't find support like this often as a consumer and I was blown away. They stand by their products and guarantees and seriously treat their customers like friends. Coziest mattress ever. Phenomenal customer service. Thank you technogel, you have a customer for life.
I have experienced chronic and excruciating back & neck pain since I was 18 years old. I suffered a major shoulder and neck injury after slipping off of a barn roof and onto a pile lumber. I never broke any bones (to this day I don’t know how), however the muscles and tissue damage was quite severe. My doctor pumped me full of quarterzone which got me very quickly back to work… three days after the incident if I recall. The quarterzone however only made issues worse years later; the scar tissue became rock hard and began to make my muscles and joints seize. In passing time, I began to see chiropractors, which unfortunately also mislead me by not fixing the problem, but only alleviating it. Pain started to become a way of life for me. When I was 25, I was in a vehicle roll over where my seat belt failed and came undone. To this day I don’t understand how I am alive! My spine was impacted, my hip was dislocated, and my L3 through L5, C3 through C6 were all injured. Again, no broken bones… I know, isn’t it unbelievable? Perhaps I should have been Super Dave’s Side Kick. Tylenol 3, more chiropractic care, massage and other questionable therapies only alleviated the pain that I was now suffering. I purchased a memory foam bed that was supposed to help with posture and with correcting my body; it only made things worse, of which today many researchers are testifying to. Trust me when I say that memory foam mattresses are a complete rip off… I know, I have owned a few and will never go back. For years I suffered. Many different pain relief medicine and anti-inflammatory medication were a normal part of daily life. At one point I was seeing a chiropractor, massage therapist, and acupuncture as much as 5 times a week each. I couldn’t exercise because the pain was so bad. My back and neck issues were literally taking over my life. After an MRI and CAT scan, I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc disease and slight scoliosis… it was time to look at other alternatives. If I didn’t, then things will only continue to get worse. I went shopping for a mattress. I was of course done with memory foam mattresses. I tried other coil mattresses, however they too were not helping. I then came across Technogel in an online forum. It really intrigued me that that this gel product that was invented by the big pharma Bayer and claimed to be a state of the art product. I purchased my mattress and had it delivered. The $5000 that I paid was difficult to swallow, but I was desperate and simply had to try it. Besides, does cost matter when it comes to sleeping and living a better life? The first night I hated my mattress along with the next 2 weeks that came by, but I gave it time. As it turns out, the mattress was actually providing the support that I needed to correct the imperfections and scar tissue. The gel, which is 100% nontoxic and “biocompatible” was providing support and correcting my issues. The “3D Formation” as they call it was doing exactly that Technogel described and provided the proper comfort & support that I required. It really was the conforming product that I needed. Here I am now one year and I have not been to chiropractor, taken any anti-inflammatories, or pain relief medication for my problems. After 18 years of pain and suffering, my Technogel Mattress has literally changed my life.
One touch of the Technogel Part of the mattress and I was immediately hooked. I knew this was what I wanted to sleep on every night. The cool sensation I get From the technogel when I lay down on my Estasi+ Queen Mattress is so nice, and like no other bed I have ever laid on.. The entire mattress is really comfortable. So comfortable i regret having to get out of bed in the morning. I feel the mattress provides my back with perfect support. In the almost one year I have owned this mattress I have not detected any decrease in the comfort or support, which I am hoping stays the same for many years to come. I liked the Technogel so much i also purchased two Bed pillows and two seat cushions. (If you want to feel the maximum amount of coolness from the Technogel, you can remove the Factory-provided cover, which I did. I then put my own cover .on. In the case of the bed pillows, i put on standard soft pillow cases.) If you want to sleep quite cool and comfortable, I recommend you check out Technogel I am so glad I switched to Technogel.
We finally decided we needed to replace the decade old mattress we had. We looked at a number of different mattresses that Healthy Back Store had to offer and finally settled on the Estasi+. We like memory foam so this is a great fit for us. I am one of those sleepers that usually gets hot, and the Technogel is a great invention for people like me. Best investment we ever made! Best sleep we've had in years.
Beats my old Temper-Pedic bed. Outstanding comfort!
Most supportive bed I've ever slept on. Very happy with my Vive Mattress!
