Aireloom is a brand of California based E.S. Kluft & Company that is sold exclusively in mattress retailers across the US. It's claim to fame is their patented 'Aireloom lift' that increases the areas of low pressure when one is laying on the mattress. This gives the sense that the bed is cradling you. However, there are common complaints about the mattress's durability and some claim that it sags. Additionally, price is a potential issue with the brand because there isn't transparent pricing online.
Nolah is a 2016 mattress entrant with a new response to the memory foam mattress. Nolah crafted its very own foam, called Nolah AirFoam™. It's innovation is that it retains less heat than other memory foam or common 'visco elastic' foams. It also has less pressure than even high end memory foam, meaning that it is easier on the hips and shoulders. Nolah's testers say it is also more durable and great for side sleepers. With 7% of profits going to wildlife adoption, Nolah is a brand anyone can feel good about!
Based on our aggregated reviews and our scoring method, we recommend Nolah in this match up!

Some sleepers are comfortable with their new beds, but others were not as satisfied with how the mattress made them feel. Despite those that had a good experience, overall these mattresses have lower than average satisfaction from customers. Read on below for more information from customers if you are interested in buying.
You may think of supportive mattresses as mostly firm, but when we talk about support, we talk about deep support of the spine, hips, and shoulders. Most customers have rated this mattress well on its support, but rarely, some customers are not always happy.
Overall, these mattresses have good quality edge support, which will fit the needs of most sleepers who require sitting on the edge of their mattress or enjoy laying on the edge of the mattress.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
Some reviewers use the bowling ball test to measure if mattresses are good at providing support to the spine. These mattresses do a good job overall, but there are a select few who may experience discomfort.
Mattresses that last a long a time are great, but not always easy to find. Sadly, sleepers don't rate these mattresses well when it comes to durability. That said, some mattresses may last a significant time without problems, while other mattresses may only last a couple years. If you are a bigger person, take some time reading more before buying.
It's not easy trying to understand if you'll be comfortable with a new mattress by just reading the customer reviews. Also trying to caveat things like when a product launched or if brands moderate their reviews, it can be an even more daunting task. However, with our evaluation of current customer data, customers give these mattresses some of the highest scores.
Having a supportive mattress is important to those of all body types. Even if you like a mattress that isn't super firm, a mattress that leads to better spine alignment is key. These mattresses offer good support for most reviewers.
Many reviewers describe edge support as a key attribute of the best mattresses. These mattresses are strong in the edge support category, which means sleepers feel propped up on the sides of their mattress as well as the center.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
The bowling ball test is a fun test to measure the firmness of the mattress and it can measure even support too. These mattresses do well with evenness of support across the surface of the mattress.
Having a mattress that lasts can mean a big financial savings for you. And that totally aligns with why durability is so important to mattress buyers. However, any shopper reading the reviews knows there are brands that seemingly don't care about the same thing. In spite of that, great products still are being built by good brands. These mattresses have good durability for most sleepers overall. Unless you are of a heavier build, these mattresses should last 7 - 12 years.

BI have had my Rip Van Winkle Natural Dreams with Luxury Cashmere King bed for 12 years. Many could say that is a long life span however I would like to provide long term customer experience details. Extreme sagging from year 1. Called Sealy's where purchased and they came out and said natural use. Ridiculous. Offered me store credit of $1000 on a $5000 King Mattress.
2. This mattress is so darn heavy that it would take 3-4 strong adults to move it (I've moved 4 times in 12 years...everyone says it's the heaviest mattress to move)
3. After point 2 was made, can you imagine flipping and rotating this bed on your own? It takes 2 adults and still is ridiculous.
4. In addition to sagging it forms to your body so to speak so after 3 years it has looked like a body shape of a 200 lb woman and hump in the middle and a less dented body shape of a 160lb man. This causes lots of cumbersome rotating & flippingwhich is very difficult.
5. I've reached my life span of a $5000 (price paid on sale) mattress with a 25 year warranty after 12 years.
6. I'm currently mattress shopping and can buy a new Sealy for 1/3 of the price and not care if lasts 5-7 years.
Bought a aireloom mattress 6 months ago from sit and sleep. Worst mattress I have ever owned. Sags so bad that I wake up with a backache every morning. Sis and sleep well not do a thing about it
My husband and I have never been so cozy comfortable. We have the split king with adjustable base.
I immediately was relieved from hip pain that I had from a fairly new Temperpedic mattress.
The only complaint we have is: WE DON'T WANT TO GET OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING.
We purchased our Aireloom Chantille Ultra Plush Euro Top Eastern King mattress from Mancini's in Mountain View, CA., Nov. 2012. What had sold us on spending $8101.00 on a mattress was that when we tested it in the showroom we did not feel the movement of our partner. For us, who are light sleepers, this is a major deal. Our body was supported and it was very comfortable. A bit too high for us, so we exchanged the tall box spring for one that was several inches shorter.
We received that mattress and straight away there was a problem. Not Mancini's problem, we would need to contact an independent inspector (Premier Inspection Services,LTD.), at our expense, to analyze the mattress and make a recommendation. He did, and basically said that the problem was in our head.
Here it is 2016 and the mattress still does not live up to the mattress that we tested in the showroom. The shape is trapezoidal, and we feel every movement that our partner makes. Rolling over, change in position, sneezing and coughing are all felt by the other.
We feel gypped and misled. How could we have been so stupid. We could have purchased a cheaper mattress and changed it out when it no longer was comfortable.
We initially bought a tempurpedic based on many recommendations. 30 days later and my back was an absolute mess. I could hardly move and I was at the chiropractor 6 times in 30 days. The chemical smell was horrible and I was sweating my butt off. My wife could not bear to sleep in it. I even had my kids jump on it to try to 'break it in'.
So, we went back to the store and the sales person was very helpful in assisting with the problems that we were having. My wife stumbled across the Aireloom mattresses and suggested I try it out. I fell in love with the support and comfort immediately. The price kind of scared me initially, but with 30 days of hell behind me, I was up for anything. I like the fact that there are many 'real' materials in this mattress and it is not a cookie cutter mattress made out of chemicals. The delivered the mattress promptly and our first night was heaven. Support, cool and comfort. We noticed immediately that when the two of us were in the middle of the bed, there was considerable sag to the mattress. I was kind of perplexed by this until I was on the floor playing with our dog and my wife and kids were horsing around in the bed. I noticed that there was significant flex in the box spring support slats when they were rolling around on the bed. Being an amish bed frame, the box is supported by 3/4 inch oak slats that run from side to side. I made up support blocks positioned under the slats in the middle of the bed and the problem was rectified. This bed is as comfortable today as it was the day we bought it.
This is so interesting....A couple of years ago, my mom gave me her brand new, Aireloom Hybrid Bamboo mattress as she decided to purchased a different size (mine is a queen). I live in an older building, and there is a place in my bedroom floor where it's uneven, so when I started to feel like I had to roll uphill to turn over in bed, I figured it was the floor, not the mattress; however, my handyman used his balance to show me that the floor underneath my bed is indeed level, which was so baffling to me, as I feel as though I am sleeping in a ditch when I am on my side of the bed.
I have a solid platform bed, with storage drawers, so it can't be chalked up to an unsteady base or bed frame. I stumbled upon this site accidentally this evening, while researching mattresses, and am now 100% convinced that my mattress is to blame, and I am not crazy.
Not only that, but the mattress weighs about a million pounds, and sits inside the platform, so that changing the fitted sheet is akin to a strenuous gym workout. Just lifting the mattress is ridiculous. Once, while lifting the corner, I felt the fabric tear, on the underside of the mattress.
My mom kept telling me how expensive the mattress was, that it was a really good mattress. I can't lie; it's super cushy and comfortable, but the sagging is beyond annoying. I have propped it up under one side with books/magazines to even it out, but I can promise you I won't be spending my own money on an aireloom, when I am ready to replace this one.
When we tried this bed in the store my husband felt very comfortable as soon as he laid on it. I felt like it was a little firm, but thought I could get use to it. From the first night it has been a nightmare for both of us. We are exhausted! My back, shoulders, hips ache. It has gotten so bad after two weeks I have gone to the spare bedroom. My husband is not sleeping well and it feels like only after two weeks there is already a body impression on his side of the bed. He feels that the bed sleeps hot. I have not noticed that yet. Very disappointed overall.
Do not even think of buying an airloom bed. We bought one from Macys in Oceanside. It began to sag within about a month or two.
Made the mistake of waiting too long to call the company. You have 90 days. After that, they came out and agreed that it sagged , but since it wasn't over an inch and a half they would not take it back. Actually the bed sagged an inch and the box spring sagged another 1/2 inch which equals the 1 1/2 inches but since the box spring was involved they would not take it back. Macy's refused to help. We sold the bed less than a year later with over a $3000.00 loss.
My advice is do not get involved with Airloom.
I purchased an Aireloom Mattress. The store that I bought it from no longer carries Aireloom. The inspector from the independent inspection company determined that the mattress failed. Originally, Linda Menzel from Aireloom wanted me to spend about $1420 to ship the mattress to California from New Jersey and back. When I pointed out that they had a plant in PA, Ms. Menzel stated that it would cost $620 to ship the mattress to and from PA.
When I accepted their offer to ship the mattress to PA, Aireloom wanted me to sign an agreement not to disparage as well as waive any future legal rights. After questioning Ms. Menzel, she stated that even if the mattress were defective when it was returned to me, I could not sue Aireloom. By adding the requirement of not to disparage and to waive all future rights, they violated the terms of their warranty and thus defrauded me.
In my opinion, Aireloom is a terrible company to deal with because they do not honor their warranty. If they did this to me, do you think they will treat you any differently?
I bought an aireloom mattress from OC mattress in Costa Mesa CA. Was told when I bought this that there was no memory foam, but alas this was untrue. After purchase I noticed heat retention and complained to the store and manufacturer. Found out that it contained 7% memory foam. After several months have noticed sagging and 'holes.'' Paid lots of money and disappointed. Would not recommend.
If you're researching a new mattress please read the above reviews and DO NOT buy an Aireloom product. Like the others above have written within weeks my wife and I found our new mattress to be forming deep depressions. We called Aireloom and they sent an inspector and the results were that the 'holes' were within expected body depressions. That's the last Aireloom I'll ever buy. Absolute junk.
I love my new Nola mattress! This mattress is truly a life changer for me and my husband. We are so happy we purchased the Nola mattress because we both sleep much better at night. I often suffered from hot flashes at night and would put the covers on and take them off covers on and off, too and turn all night. Now I sleep much cooler and in a deeper sleep and I feel much more rested the next day. I would rate the firmness as a 4-5 on scale 1-10. I like the softness and I still feel supported. No more left hip pain. I also sleep on my back at times and I wake with no backaches. Another advantage is the liberal return policy of 120 days and free pickup if you are dissatisfied. We have owned it for 3weeks. One doesn't know how well you will like a mattress until you sleep on it for a week or so. We liked the Nolah from the first night with no break in period. Our previous mattress was a memory foam with a latex topper and slept very hot and I could not return it after trying it out for a couple weeks. the Nola does not sleep hot. I would highly recommend viewing online videos to visualize the softness. that's what I did and found that I was very happy with this purchase.View More Reviews
So far I think so good, and getting better. First night was awesome, but then I went through a few nights of growing pains and getting adjusted. Went from an old 13-ish year old typical pillow top. But I think I'm getting used to the Nolah and starting to love it. No tossing and turning to get comfortable...I just am comfy. I am a side sleeper and it's weird just like it says no pressure points, I don't get how it works but I LOVE that. I go to bed with a sore back and wake up with no pain, first time in months. The shopping experience was painless and easy. Only thing is I think I thought I'd be a little cooler, I'm by no means hot but am just a little warmer than I was before, but it's not affecting my sleep....might try different sheets......Plus I love my polar bear haha :)
We have had the mattress for about a month. It took a couple of weeks to adjust but now sleeping well and the pain I had in my hips is slowly reducing.. so Yea!!! Awesome customer service btw!
This is the best bed ever. It forms to the body for a perfect snug fit I fall into the bed, as if I was on a cloud. Big smiles!
I love this mattress. I get night sweats really bad and this has really helped! I also work nightshifts and this is way better than my other mattress. As for the shopping experience i was super excited to donate to an animal of my choice!
My husband and I love it. I feel snuggled in and yet it is supportive. The customer service I would rate super-excellent. Wonderfully communicative people. We are both getting a more restful sleep and one of the biggest surprises is that a very bad side pain I was waking up with when we had our other foam mattress has gone away since I have been on the Nolah. I didn't relate it to the mattress and even complained to my doctor about it. He couldn't find anything wrong. Now since sleeping on our Nolah it has gone away. Wow, I put up with that pain for months. It is also easy to roll over on it and you don't sleep hot as we did with our other foam mattress. Easy to lift to put sheets on. Its not a heavy monstrosity as our old foam was. Everything about the Nolah a A . A great mattress for a very reasonable price. We are thankful to own it.
I have had hip and lower back pain from hours of sitting from being in school for the last year. My old bed was really contributing to the problem. The first night after I slept on the Nolah bed, I woke up with no radiating or aching hip pain. I still have the popping in and out and uncomfortableness in my right hip, but I know that the bed has completely resolved the radiating pain I was used to feeling every morning. The only complaint I had with the bed was how hot it sleeps, which through research I have found is normal for any foam bed. I resolved this problem with a breathable plush bamboo mattress pad that allows for air flow between me and the mattress.
I was sleeping on a much cheaper foam mattress prior to the Nolah. I also used the reliable fast shipping to make my move across the country easier: I got rid of my old mattress, and ordered my Nolah delivered to my new house. One less thing to move. After 3 weeks of sleeping on the Nolah, I have to say it is MUCH more comfortable than my previous mattress. The materials just feel much higher quality.
This mattress is like a dream. My husband and I are getting some really wonderful sleep, which is a miracle due to the fact we have two young children! We did tons of research and were so skeptical about receiving a mattress via mail. I cannot tell you how happy we are with our purchase. We say every night, "I love our mattress!" It's been a great investment. Thanks for helping us get our sleep back!!!
Since getting the nolad mattress I have the best sleep I have had in years. Being a side sleeper it been hard to get comfortable to have real restful sleep, until now!
I like to sleep on my side and this mattress works for side sleepers. It doesnt sleep hot which is good cause i like to sleep in the cold. the only problem so far was the initial smell when i opened the mattress from the plastic but i guess that cant be helped.
We love this mattress. Easy to buy online. We sleep much better and for longer. Highly recommend. Came on a Friday and slept on it that night! No box spring needed. I built a wood frame and a drawer system under it.
my mattress a river fast as promised,my wife and myself sleep on our sides and out last mattress was so warn out we had a concave hoke in the center...you could literally roll from the edge into the middle On our first night we woke sore all over, but that come from the many nights of sleeping on a bad mattress,,,over the past few weeks the sleep has gotten better, and I'm sure once our body get use to the new mattress we will enjoy many nights of restful sleep
The whole Nolah experience was comfortable. Information on the website about the mattress was accurate. The shipping box was easy to manage. Now, the Nolah mattress is the most comfortable mattress in the house and everyone wants to sleep on it!
I love my new Nolah bed. I have been sleeping on it for several weeks and it is very, very comfortable. I go to sleep more quickly and stay asleep longer since I got it. I told my sister about it and she ordered one and also loves it. The shopping was easy and the bed came within one week. Setup was quick and easy. Wish I'd gotten it sooner!
My partner and I are both wildland firefighters so getting a good night of comfortable sleep is important to us. I finally bit the bullet and bought a brand new mattress for the first time in my life. Nolah is a serious game changer! Getting it shipped straight to the house was awesome. We've been sleeping on it for about a month and I wish I didn't have to work so much so I could stay in bed all day!
Shopping experience was no hassle. Make sure you look for a promo code. I wouldn’t buy thru Amazon, only 30 day return. Nolah.com is 90 day. I am 2 weeks in and I still enjoy it. My wife gets up at 4 am and I don’t realize it at all. I actually sleep less hours because I am getting such good sleep, no joke.
I must admit I was apprehensive about buying a foam mattress. I was concerned about the reputation foam mattresses have for trapping body heat. As it turns out, I needn't have worried, as my Nolah sleeps as cool as my old coil spring mattress. I'm a side sleeper, so for years I've suffered from shoulder pain and numbness through the night, resulting in restless night's of tossing and turning trying to find a comfortable position. No more! My Nolah mattress cradles my shoulder perfectly. No critique would be complete without mentioning how convenient the "mattress-in-a-box" concept is. From the moment it was delivered until it was set up and ready for a "test nap" was literally a matter of minutes. I don't know how my Nolah experience could be improved. The word "perfect" falls short.
There's a ton of online mattress companies to choose from, and it's scary to think about buying a mattress before trying it out. Don't worry your sleepy little head, Nolah has your back (supported just how you like it). You won't even need to use their gracious return policy. Everything from ordering to opening was a breeze, and it sleeps like a dream. Once you get your Nolah mattress, there's no looking back. In fact, the only thing you'll be looking at is the back of your eyelids. Rest easy.
Sleep and mattresses are a highly individualized experiences so I'll stick to the objective side. Nolah said five days and we had it in 5 days. Set-up was easy, though dragging/carrying an 80 pound box upstairs is exactly as you would expect. Off-gassing was minimal, had the windows open for the first 10-15 minutes, didn't really notice any odors that night. Wife and I are both side sleepers, so we went with the model recommended for side/occasional back sleepers. We both have been waking up with less joint pain and pressure point pain with the Nolah. Foam transfers far less movement to an adjacent sleeper and we found that to be true. We replaced a 6 year old innerspring, that, given our sleep styles, was likely too firm. Probably the result of a 5 minute store trial where neither of us laid on our side. Nolah did what they said they would in terms of delivery, etc. and the mattress does what they said it would.
Although I was looking at Purple and/or Nectar initially when considering to buy a mattress, I ultimately ended up going with Nolah. I perused several websites trying to read about different companies. While Nolah seems like it wasn't advertised as much as other companies, I still found some people talking about it and eventually decided to go with them. The shopping experience was quick and easy. Mattress was delivered less than a week within ordering. I really liked the fact that I got to choose an animal for Nolah to donate their proceeds to help preserve. They seem like a great company. Although I wasn't sure what to expect from the king mattress I purchased for only $850 (after promo discount), it turned out to be very comfortable and seems to be keep me cool at night (i'm generally a hot sleeper so this was very important to me). It is less firm than my previous queen mattress which is a memory foam mattress with cooling technology. Overall, I like the Nolah mattress better than my previous one which I spent $1,500. This was definitely a great investment.
My Nolah mattress sleeps great, it did take a few nights to get use to not having springs in my side. I shopped many other mattress because I am a side sleeper, glad I chose Nolah. The mattress sleep nice, not hot which was a concern. Nolah need to make pillows to go with their mattress. Great customer service, thanks for answering all my question promptly.
My wife has trouble staying asleep and both of us are warm sleepers. The Nolah agrees with us -- it doesn't get hot and we both sleep comfortably through the night. I have noticed a significant improvement in both our moods since we got it.
Me and my wife love our Nolah Mattress. We previously had a memory foam mattress we bought online which was hard and uncomfortable. My wife would toss and turn all night and never had a good nights sleep. With the nolah mattress I'm happy to say my wife and I sleep much better and wake feeling relaxed.
This was my first experience buying a mattress online and I have to say that the Nolah company made it a great experience! Their customer service has been terrific with prompt replies and great information. The bed is super comfortable and I got it because I wanted one a little softer for my side sleeping. However, I must sleep on my back more than I originally thought I did and I found the mattress to be a little too soft for my back sleeping. The mattress itself sleeps cool and is definitely quality construction. I'm actually sad to return it but I think I need something just a little firmer for me. That said, I have to problem recommending it and believe it would be perfect for many people!
Most of my sleep time over the years has been via expensive big-name traditional mattresses. A few years ago I ventured into memory foam and that translated into some very bad sleep. What I found most aggravating was the cavity created when sleeping on the memory foam. It was so difficult to move between sleeping positions without falling into the "sleep hole" in unnatural ways. After several weeks of this, I went back to my old reliable. Well when I read about the more springy style of memory foam Nolah uses and saw the positive reviews online, I decided to give them a shot. I'm very glad I did! First off, no more "sleep holes" created. I can switch positions throughout with zero issues. I sleep on the mattress, not in it! Such a great experience! The mattress does not get hot either. It's easily twice as cool as the other memory foam was. In fact I find myself so naturally comfortable when I wake up in the morning on my Nolah that it is both easier and more difficult to get out of bed: I am more rested so ready to roll out and conqueror the day, but at the same time I am so comfortable I want another 15 minutes of sleep! I welcome this dilemma. :)
I had been sleeping on another online-only mattress with rave reviews, but was very uncomfortable at night. I am a side sleeper and my arm was going numb, I couldn't stop tossing and turning, and I was very disappointed. I ended up returning that other mattress within the 100-day trial period and heavily researched all the competitors. I saw a review that said Nolah was good for side sleepers, and I was also pleased to see that the company is involved in conservation. So, I pulled the trigger and purchased the mattress. It's definitely better than what I was sleeping on before. I don't have the same pain and I'm not tossing and turning. I'm glad that I made the switch!
I was nervous about buying a mattress online. What I found was it gave me time to compare customer ratings without the pressure of a salesperson. My bed is in the hottest room in the house but I have not been sweating! Also, my lower back pain has disappeared!! Love my Nolah!
We shopped for mattresses for weeks before deciding to try an online mattress. Really liked the idea of the adopt an animal so we went with nolah! It's been great we have loved every night so far!
