Aireloom is a brand of California based E.S. Kluft & Company that is sold exclusively in mattress retailers across the US. It's claim to fame is their patented 'Aireloom lift' that increases the areas of low pressure when one is laying on the mattress. This gives the sense that the bed is cradling you. However, there are common complaints about the mattress's durability and some claim that it sags. Additionally, price is a potential issue with the brand because there isn't transparent pricing online.
The dream bed is a newer memory foam / latex mattress brand similar to some of the newer arrivals to the mattress space. The big difference is that it is not a mattress start up, but is operated by Mattress Firm, which is one of the largest mattress companies on the market with retail stores Sleep Train, Mattress Discounters, and 1-800-MATTRESS as part of their enterprise. Dream Bed consists of two memory foam mattresses with a top latex layer, one named 'the original' and one cooling foam version. Additionally, their foams are Certipur certified so they won't harm your family.
Based on our aggregated reviews and our scoring method, we recommend Dream Bed in this match up!

Finding out how customers really feel is sometimes a difficult task -- especially with some companies focusing heavily on protecting their reputation. These mattresses, sadly, don't get the highest reception from sleepers. There are still folks that love their mattresses, but there are many others with complaints. Read on below to get the details on the specifics.
Having a supportive mattress will help with back problems and keeping things comfortable over the long term. These mattresses provide solid support for most folks, but rarely some reviewers have complained about firmness and support.
Edge support is a popular metric of success for mattress makers and for those that are working on their mobility. These mattresses offer supportive structure along the edges, but some heavier folks may experience more contouring along the sides.
Bowling Ball & Density Tests
Using a bowling ball to measure the firmness and support of a mattress is a common practice. These mattresses provide even support overall, but there may be the rare few that don't experience the same evenness described.
In addition to being well supported, having a long lasting mattress is what shoppers are looking for. We all want to find a mattress that is just as cozy as it was day 1 on day 1001. However, these mattresses are not rated well by some reviewers on durability and some have experienced breakdown after only a short time. If you are considering using as your full time mattress, read the reviews to make sure that it will match your body type before buying.
There have been diverse feedback from sleepers about these mattresses -- both good and bad. There are reports from many folks of good initial comfort and happiness with their purchase, but there are some complaints. Learn more about this brand below!
Having a supportive mattress is key for getting a good night's sleep. If your bed doesn't prop you up, a mattress that does better would mean a much deeper sleep for you. These mattresses have been rated above average in support, but some had issues with how they felt for them.
These mattresses should do fine on edge support for most, which is well regarded by those that like to roll over to the side of the mattress. Those that have heavier frames may still find some discomfort while laying close to the side.
These mattresses get mixed reviews from customers on lasting comfort. We're all after mattresses that feel just as great now as they did 10+ years ago, but unfortunately, not all of them will last as long as you hope. If a mattress that has mixed reception on durability is on your to-buy list, make sure to do one last look at the warranty and return policies so you are protected.
BI have had my Rip Van Winkle Natural Dreams with Luxury Cashmere King bed for 12 years. Many could say that is a long life span however I would like to provide long term customer experience details. Extreme sagging from year 1. Called Sealy's where purchased and they came out and said natural use. Ridiculous. Offered me store credit of $1000 on a $5000 King Mattress.
2. This mattress is so darn heavy that it would take 3-4 strong adults to move it (I've moved 4 times in 12 years...everyone says it's the heaviest mattress to move)
3. After point 2 was made, can you imagine flipping and rotating this bed on your own? It takes 2 adults and still is ridiculous.
4. In addition to sagging it forms to your body so to speak so after 3 years it has looked like a body shape of a 200 lb woman and hump in the middle and a less dented body shape of a 160lb man. This causes lots of cumbersome rotating & flippingwhich is very difficult.
5. I've reached my life span of a $5000 (price paid on sale) mattress with a 25 year warranty after 12 years.
6. I'm currently mattress shopping and can buy a new Sealy for 1/3 of the price and not care if lasts 5-7 years.
Bought a aireloom mattress 6 months ago from sit and sleep. Worst mattress I have ever owned. Sags so bad that I wake up with a backache every morning. Sis and sleep well not do a thing about it
My husband and I have never been so cozy comfortable. We have the split king with adjustable base.
I immediately was relieved from hip pain that I had from a fairly new Temperpedic mattress.
The only complaint we have is: WE DON'T WANT TO GET OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING.
We purchased our Aireloom Chantille Ultra Plush Euro Top Eastern King mattress from Mancini's in Mountain View, CA., Nov. 2012. What had sold us on spending $8101.00 on a mattress was that when we tested it in the showroom we did not feel the movement of our partner. For us, who are light sleepers, this is a major deal. Our body was supported and it was very comfortable. A bit too high for us, so we exchanged the tall box spring for one that was several inches shorter.
We received that mattress and straight away there was a problem. Not Mancini's problem, we would need to contact an independent inspector (Premier Inspection Services,LTD.), at our expense, to analyze the mattress and make a recommendation. He did, and basically said that the problem was in our head.
Here it is 2016 and the mattress still does not live up to the mattress that we tested in the showroom. The shape is trapezoidal, and we feel every movement that our partner makes. Rolling over, change in position, sneezing and coughing are all felt by the other.
We feel gypped and misled. How could we have been so stupid. We could have purchased a cheaper mattress and changed it out when it no longer was comfortable.
We initially bought a tempurpedic based on many recommendations. 30 days later and my back was an absolute mess. I could hardly move and I was at the chiropractor 6 times in 30 days. The chemical smell was horrible and I was sweating my butt off. My wife could not bear to sleep in it. I even had my kids jump on it to try to 'break it in'.
So, we went back to the store and the sales person was very helpful in assisting with the problems that we were having. My wife stumbled across the Aireloom mattresses and suggested I try it out. I fell in love with the support and comfort immediately. The price kind of scared me initially, but with 30 days of hell behind me, I was up for anything. I like the fact that there are many 'real' materials in this mattress and it is not a cookie cutter mattress made out of chemicals. The delivered the mattress promptly and our first night was heaven. Support, cool and comfort. We noticed immediately that when the two of us were in the middle of the bed, there was considerable sag to the mattress. I was kind of perplexed by this until I was on the floor playing with our dog and my wife and kids were horsing around in the bed. I noticed that there was significant flex in the box spring support slats when they were rolling around on the bed. Being an amish bed frame, the box is supported by 3/4 inch oak slats that run from side to side. I made up support blocks positioned under the slats in the middle of the bed and the problem was rectified. This bed is as comfortable today as it was the day we bought it.
This is so interesting....A couple of years ago, my mom gave me her brand new, Aireloom Hybrid Bamboo mattress as she decided to purchased a different size (mine is a queen). I live in an older building, and there is a place in my bedroom floor where it's uneven, so when I started to feel like I had to roll uphill to turn over in bed, I figured it was the floor, not the mattress; however, my handyman used his balance to show me that the floor underneath my bed is indeed level, which was so baffling to me, as I feel as though I am sleeping in a ditch when I am on my side of the bed.
I have a solid platform bed, with storage drawers, so it can't be chalked up to an unsteady base or bed frame. I stumbled upon this site accidentally this evening, while researching mattresses, and am now 100% convinced that my mattress is to blame, and I am not crazy.
Not only that, but the mattress weighs about a million pounds, and sits inside the platform, so that changing the fitted sheet is akin to a strenuous gym workout. Just lifting the mattress is ridiculous. Once, while lifting the corner, I felt the fabric tear, on the underside of the mattress.
My mom kept telling me how expensive the mattress was, that it was a really good mattress. I can't lie; it's super cushy and comfortable, but the sagging is beyond annoying. I have propped it up under one side with books/magazines to even it out, but I can promise you I won't be spending my own money on an aireloom, when I am ready to replace this one.
When we tried this bed in the store my husband felt very comfortable as soon as he laid on it. I felt like it was a little firm, but thought I could get use to it. From the first night it has been a nightmare for both of us. We are exhausted! My back, shoulders, hips ache. It has gotten so bad after two weeks I have gone to the spare bedroom. My husband is not sleeping well and it feels like only after two weeks there is already a body impression on his side of the bed. He feels that the bed sleeps hot. I have not noticed that yet. Very disappointed overall.
Do not even think of buying an airloom bed. We bought one from Macys in Oceanside. It began to sag within about a month or two.
Made the mistake of waiting too long to call the company. You have 90 days. After that, they came out and agreed that it sagged , but since it wasn't over an inch and a half they would not take it back. Actually the bed sagged an inch and the box spring sagged another 1/2 inch which equals the 1 1/2 inches but since the box spring was involved they would not take it back. Macy's refused to help. We sold the bed less than a year later with over a $3000.00 loss.
My advice is do not get involved with Airloom.
I purchased an Aireloom Mattress. The store that I bought it from no longer carries Aireloom. The inspector from the independent inspection company determined that the mattress failed. Originally, Linda Menzel from Aireloom wanted me to spend about $1420 to ship the mattress to California from New Jersey and back. When I pointed out that they had a plant in PA, Ms. Menzel stated that it would cost $620 to ship the mattress to and from PA.
When I accepted their offer to ship the mattress to PA, Aireloom wanted me to sign an agreement not to disparage as well as waive any future legal rights. After questioning Ms. Menzel, she stated that even if the mattress were defective when it was returned to me, I could not sue Aireloom. By adding the requirement of not to disparage and to waive all future rights, they violated the terms of their warranty and thus defrauded me.
In my opinion, Aireloom is a terrible company to deal with because they do not honor their warranty. If they did this to me, do you think they will treat you any differently?
I bought an aireloom mattress from OC mattress in Costa Mesa CA. Was told when I bought this that there was no memory foam, but alas this was untrue. After purchase I noticed heat retention and complained to the store and manufacturer. Found out that it contained 7% memory foam. After several months have noticed sagging and 'holes.'' Paid lots of money and disappointed. Would not recommend.
If you're researching a new mattress please read the above reviews and DO NOT buy an Aireloom product. Like the others above have written within weeks my wife and I found our new mattress to be forming deep depressions. We called Aireloom and they sent an inspector and the results were that the 'holes' were within expected body depressions. That's the last Aireloom I'll ever buy. Absolute junk.
3 years ago my husband and I made the trek out to our local mattress retailer. We were buying two mattresses - one for personal use and the other for a duplex for our parents. Decided on two Sertas when at the last moment.....I spotted the Aireloom. I had to test it and I fell in love. It was the most comfortable bed I had ever tried! But alas, the honeymoon period ended and we were left with a mattress that had some serious sagging issues after only 3 years. Some might say that is a good life for a mattress but I have to point out the only two other mattresses we have purchased for personal use lasted at least 10 years each and with no sagging. We only replaced them because we wanted to try newer models. Aireloom - I wanted to love you! Love you for being handmade, being the cushiest bed on the showroom floor, for being the sexiest in looks and for being handmade in CA. Sorry but I can love you no more. Moving on to a new lover.
I wish I had ready reviews like these before spending over $3000 on our Aireloom in 2012. We expected this mattress to last 20-25 years. When we first got the mattress I couldn't have been more satisfied. It was firm, supportive and so good for my bad back recovering from surgery. Within a few months I noticed I was making a sag in the bed. I tried moving around in the bed more and that helped for a while but now my husband and I are so miserable sleeping in this bed that we can't wait to replace it. We have flipped it end to end but I'd rather return to an old fashioned innerspring mattress that I can flip over. It just makes sense that with more sleeping surface the mattress will last longer. I will for sure NEVER spend $3K on a mattress again.
I have had a real problem with sciatica over the last couple of years. While this mattress has not prevented it, better body pressure distribution seems to have really helped. I don’t wake up in the AM tired and feeling achey.
Macy's was a pleasure to work with throughout and the mattress has been very comfortable so far.
We had been looking for a new mattress for over 2 years, and finally landed on the Airloom Hybrid. Already on the first night, I noticed when I woke up in the middle of the night, my hip and shoulder pain I would typically feel before I rolled to the other side was gone! This mattress really takes the pressure off.
I took my time to find the right bed for my needs and really liked the Aireloom Hybrid. When I returned to buy it, my salesperson was tied up with another customer so that allowed me a good half hour to lie on the bed to make sure it was the one for me. Within 2 weeks of owning the mattress I noticed it wasn't springing back into shape. I've only owned it a month now and it has such deep depressions from my body (and I'm only 5' tall and 115 lbs!) that it feels almost as uncomfortable as my old mattress and is hurting my back. I've informed the salesperson I worked with that I'll be returning this one and hoping she can find something that will work as well as I hoped the Aireloom would. Highly disappointed.
Tried this bed 3 times at Macy’s laid on it , sales women was great she recommended this bed I looked at a few in mac
We tried 3 different mattresses in 3 months before picking this one. The others were either too firm or too soft, but this one was absolutely perfect. Plush, but with the right amount of support. Finally getting the best nights sleep. Waking up feeling rested, and not sore. If you are picky about your mattress, this is the one to try....you wont regret it.
Love this mattress, so comfortable, soft, best sleep in a long time.
Shopping for a new mattress had turned into a nightmare, between pop up stores and online beds in a box/bag I'd given up. Then I thought Macy's that were my parents would go. Our salesman was great listened to our needs and pointed us to several options, gave us the time we needed to decide. Delivery and set up was a breeze. Great mattress! ! Love it.
Very comfortable, conforms to body for a comfortable night sleep. I have spinal problems and this has been a big help. It lets me toss and turn with no problems. I tried many mattress' in the store, and this one worked. The salesman was wonderful it took us 2 hours and many jumping from mattress to mattress, his patience was above and beyond.
My purchase could not have been accomplished without the help of the OUTSTANDING Members of the Macy's team in San Francisco at Union Square. Their care and attention to my unique needs and wishes got this very important purchase accomplished. Lili Spagnoletta helped me this time and with my previous mattress over 15 years ago. For this purchase she got her Customer Service Manager Lori to help secure financing options. They Really Care!
We tested out this bed in the store and it was, by far, the most comfortable! We tried at least a dozen beds that were 5X the cost and this one was the best. The delivery was seamless and we can't wait to sleep on this tonight!
Took a couple of days to get use too, since I was sleeping on a mattress over 20 years old. Now I love it, and would definitely recommend it. Also had great delivery service on a very hot day!
It's firm and yet soft. Very comfortable! Great Buy!
It’s been exactly one year since purchase. Have called for questionablydefect internally. Mattress sags on one side causing excessive backache for me yet other side is firm. My weight 215 lbs. we purchased for a it being firm and king size. Compared to a foam inner coil mattress purchased in 2003, now 2019, this mattress is better built and low indentation of body points on bed. For the Airloom, I have to wake up completely to turn over. Yet when testing was done on Airloom, it was visually different between side and what measurement that was taken only involved a string pulled taught across mattress and a card with lines drawn to distinguish body indentation. There wasn’t any weighted pressure on points where indents were to measure any foam or spring collapse. I have now received letter from company I purchased from saying it meets standards under warranty. I’m doing a follow up for better practices to measure internal, not visual, of mattress. Over $4000 spent with less than 1 year of use. My queen foam/coil mattress after 16 years outperforms the Airloom and my back doesn’t hurt.
This was easy to setup and came quickly as advertised. It's comfortable and I can't feel my spouse move in the night as well!View More Reviews
Bought this bed after reading about its donation of a bed for a bed. What I didn't realize was that doing that may have made a less durable product. After a few weeks of having the mattress, I am noticing a bit of a dip in my bed. I have turned it over and it seemed to go away, but I am still concerned long term. Overall, pretty pleased with the mattress for the price though.
Good mattress but there seemed to be a very distinct odor when I got it. I know that it is Certipur so it shouldn't contain harmful chemicals, but it definitely reaks. But, once I fall asleep -- gotta say, boy am I comfortable. Can't complain about that!
The delivery was supposed to come on a Thursday, but it didn't show up until late the following week. It definitely made for an uncomfortable week with the wife yelling on about her back pain, but luckily once we got the thing, it ended up being pretty darn comfortable. So in the end, I am happy.
Got the mattress last month and really loving it. I am sleeping like a baby!
I ordered the Dream Bed original and no one should ever buy this. I am usually too cold at night, but this thing makes me claustrophobic and sweaty all night. It is like sleeping in hell.
I had a terrible Sealy mattress that started to poke my sides with its coils. But now, I am super comfy nightly in my Dream Bed. I wish this bed was around in the 90s because I would have bought one for all my kids. Now, I am just sleeping soundly and loving my new bed.
I am a heavy side sleeper and I thought that this dreambed was going to be good for me, but unfortunately, it is way too hot and also my back kills me when I wake up. I feel like I am sinking into the thing and already it has a big indent. I mean, I am not that fat, but this makes it seem like I am the world's biggest man. What the hell?!
I had a plush top mattress before I bought the Dream Bed because of the price. I should have just kept with what I knew because the memory foam is not for me. It smells, hurts, and feels like I am sagging all the time. I wish that I had bought an innerspring, but I am stuck with it.
Can't complain about the dreambed. I got the twin for my daughter who is 7 and she absolutely loves it. We didn't even need a mattress topper because of how soft it is. She snuggles under all of her blankets and tells us how much she loves it every morning when we try to get her up for school. Only problem? She never wants to leave her bed.
No more pain! I had terrible pain with my traditional mattress, but the Dream Bed really has made this pain vanish. I was as surprised as anyone because I suffered an accident from falling off a ladder, and nothing would save my back. This bed has changed me though. I can't say enough good things!
Sleeping so much better then ever. Thought my lack of falling asleep quickly was an issue I was having. But I’m not having any problem falling asleep with my new memory foam mattress. I also find I sleep without waking up often.
Great bed! I have a bad back and it’s supportive and firm. When it was new it was very firm however it feels Egged when broken into.
Absolutely love this mattress! Best sleep I've had.
Went to one location and picked what we felt would be our perfect mattress, went to a second one and was talked out of it and so far not what we wanted but staying optimistic
The cooling on this mattress was fenominal, but it was a little too firm for our liking.
We got the firm mattress and it may be too firm for our tastes. However we have been sleeping well and the mattress is clearly high quality. The 15 minute test in the store was not enough.
Bed is firmer than store but I rather tgat than soft.
I really enjoy my new mattress, I was skeptical at first, but it turned out better than I imagined. It stays nice and cool.
I bought this mattress in February for our second home. We look forward to going so we can get a good nights sleep!! It is the most comfortable mattress I have ever had the pleasure of sleeping on.
I have another memory foam bed and know they sleep warm. I had concerns about getting another one because I am a hot sleeper. The display mattress at store without sheets felt very cool when laying on it. When you get the mattress home with sheets its not as cool. I got a cooling memory foam topper and it still sleeps warm. In the winter time it will be heavenly but it the summer time not so great. My dogs love it and there's very little motion transfer. I would recommend it just not for people who sleep warm.
Very comfortable! I have a really bad back and usually wake up with pain in my back and shoulders with my old mattress. I have not had any pain so far. I am happy with my new mattress. I took off one star because it does sleep warm. That will be good for the winter time, but I wonder how it will feel in the warmer months.
I purchased this mattress on the recommendation of the salesman and on the guarantee that the foam is unlike memory foam and would not soften after a year. Initially the mattress was comfortable but now a year has past and the mattress is softer than any traditional mattress I have had previously and the sides are now softer & more broken down than the rest of the mattress ( and this is with a average size female sleeping in the bed). This mattress is just an overpriced memory foam mattress and it definitely will not hold up for 10 or 20 years. I would not recommend.
I bought this a month ago and I'm very happy with the mattress.
The wife has adapted very well to the mattress . The jury is still out for me.
I bought my bed a few weeks ago and I have enjoyed it ever since!! So comfortable!!
It is great....dream bed. It is so comfortable. I love it.
The manager treated us well. He really made sure we were comfortable on our choice, and followed-up to ensure we were happy.
Bought the split king. My wife loves it. I hate it. It's hot, really hot. I move to the guest room everynight about 2 am. Wish I could get my old mattress back. Looks like we will be sleeping in seperate bed rooms.
Make sure you definitely let the bed air out! My husband loves the bed, so far for me it's just killing my back, had to sleep on the guest bed for a week just to be able to get around. I can't feel the cooling through the sheets and I have great sheets. I think the bed is over priced and I'm letting the first 30 days of this 120 trial period pass but it will be going back.
I’ve had this for about a month and so far am VERY pleased.
We bought our mattress about a month ago, the service was excellent, the recommendations where right on target. I haven't slept this good in years. Mattress Firm has some really great selections with solid price ranges for everyone. Couldn't be happier
I recently purchased this. So far it’s been a great sleep
We are a couple that has ALWAYS disagreed about our mattress. He likes firm, I like plush. I have to say though, this mattress has been perfect for both of us! We can both get a good nights sleep and be comfortable in our bed. It has the support of the firm my husband needs, and the comfort of the plush that I like. We have bought 3 different mattresses in the last 18 years and this has been the ONLY one we BOTH like! Inly draw back is I wish the side was a little bit firmer when I sit on it, but for sleeping it's perfect!
I love this mattress so much and was comparing it to a temperpedic, its awesome
I bought this to take to my new home and it has helped to decrease my back pain. This bed was the best investment I could have made!
My wife and I looked at all mattresses in store and was told it would be cooler to sleep on than the one we had but is warmer, we were showed the blue sealer on mattress and said It would cause it to be cooler, actually warmer than last, had to have the adjustable base though, and now finding problem to get sheet sets for the king split. You get two twin sheets, two cases but no king top sheet have to overlap the two twin top sheets, mess. Will see still have little time to decide on keep it or look at other ones there.
I've been sleeping on the mattress for about a month-it's the most comfortable mattress I've ever owned! Previously had a TempurPedic, but this one is even better. It sleeps cool thanks to the cooling gel and is neither too hard or too soft. I bought the adjustable frame which works well with it, and the bundle with the mattress protector, bamboo sheets and cooling pillows. Now I need a tv in my bedroom so I can spend more time on this awesome mattress!
We back and traded for another mattress. Mattress was just uncomfortable.
Bought in July and is incredible. We sleep so nice. We love the bed. The only problem is getting out of it in the morning! I would highly recommend this bed for: People that have sleep issues, bad backs, heat/cold issues. This is the best bed we have ever owned. At age 60, we have had a lot. I would say invest the money now in this bed so you can sleep better and wake up refreshed.
